Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 : Uvogin, Causing Trouble

Perfect. Here's your revised chapter

---

Inside the luxurious presidential suite, Machi stood silent, unsure if she felt awkward or just annoyed—but she didn't linger. She turned and left, needing to verify the latest intel they'd received.

Alone in the suite, Kai sat cross-legged on the carpet of the living room, focused and unmoving. His aura flickered wildly around him.

The gourmet cells coursing through his body had elevated his physical limits far beyond those of ordinary humans, but that alone wasn't enough. Power was potential—unrefined until trained, shaped, and mastered.

And Kai was nothing if not obsessed with mastery.

Though he gave off a laid-back aura most of the time, his dedication to training easily rivaled that of Uvogin. That drive, that seriousness behind the slouch, was one of the reasons Nobunaga had accepted him so quickly.

He exhaled slowly.

"Haaaaah…"

"I remember… Chakra is supposed to be a balance of mental and physical energy, right? So why the hell is it so hard to manifest this damn thing?"

It had been some time since Kai acquired the scroll for Susanoo—a technique from the Nen-based simulation world he'd conjured with his unique ability, Virtual World. But the progress was maddeningly slow.

He'd burned through an insane amount of aura and training time, and yet, all he could manage was the first form—an incomplete skeletal frame, half a body, lacking flesh and armor.

He raised his right arm.

A wave of Nen surged. Behind him, an enormous skeletal limb materialized—eerie and powerful, mimicking his movements with uncanny precision.

Fist clenched. Fingers spread.

The skeletal arm followed exactly.

"No issues with movement. Using aura as the neural link, the Susanoo basically becomes an extension of my body."

Kai evaluated it like a field scientist with a weapon prototype.

"Enhancer-type amplification is working fine… Strength is multiplied, range is enhanced. But the aura drain is ridiculous…"

Based on his internal calculations, if he went all out with Susanoo, he could maintain it for 15–30 minutes—tops. And that was without factoring in external pressure or enemy interference. Realistically, it would be even shorter.

"Could I take Hisoka now…?"

Kai's gaze grew distant.

The Hunter Association's power scaling wasn't exactly consistent. There wasn't a hard ranking system like in some other worlds. Togashi had always said that the fluid nature of Nen meant battle outcomes were unpredictable.

Kai thought that was dumb.

Still, if he had to rank them:

Top Tier: Meruem, Prime Netero, Ging Freecss, Beyond Netero.

Second Tier: Chrollo, Hisoka, Illumi.

Third Tier: Gon and Killua (pre-transformation), the Phantom Troupe (excluding leaders), and strong Nen users in the field.

Fourth Tier: Basic Hunters, low-tier Sky Arena fighters, and civilian Nen users.

(Not that any of this was official—just Kai's personal framework.)

Kai had been in this world for several months now. With the edge given by gourmet cells, his growth had skyrocketed. Add to that his meta-knowledge of this world, and the cheat-like abilities of his Virtual World, and…

He might not be second tier yet—but he was damn close.

BZZZZZZZ—

The communicator buzzed loudly.

He didn't hesitate.

Only Nobunaga or the others could reach him through this channel.

"Kai! Uvogin's in trouble again!"

Machi's voice was back to normal—quick, urgent, slightly irritated.

"Trouble?" Kai blinked. "Weren't they just shopping?"

Before he could process, he heard it.

Gunfire. Loud and rapid. Explosions. Screams. A booming laugh echoing somewhere in the background.

Yep. Uvogin was loving every second.

"…No need to explain," Kai muttered. "I'm on my way."

---

The roof offered a better view of the chaos erupting across the city blocks. Kai crouched, locked onto the explosions in the distance, then gathered Nen under his feet.

Running was for rookies. Rooftop-jumping was faster.

And cooler.

---

"YOU BASTARD!! IF I DON'T GET MY SWORD BACK, I'M GOING TO CUT YOU IN HALF!!"

Nobunaga's voice roared across the block as he dodged bullets and weaved through enemy fire.

He spotted his moment, bent low—

Juhe: Sword Draw Technique!

A flash of steel and aura lit up the street.

The massive arc of energy cleaved through multiple armored vehicles, turning them into scrap in a blink. Explosions rocked the area, tossing gang members through windows and over cars.

"Hahaha! You see that!? That's a free upgrade!" Uvogin laughed like a lunatic, his body covered in blood and smoke as he smashed through another wave of goons with a single punch.

Nobunaga glared. "You IDIOT! You call this shopping?!"

Just then—

BOOM!

A figure dropped from above, slamming into the heart of the street like a meteor.

The impact left a ten-meter-wide crater in the pavement, chunks of concrete flying everywhere.

Kai stood up from the impact zone, unharmed, aura flaring.

"Didn't you two say you were going out to buy clothes?" he asked flatly.

"What the hell happened?"

Both Uvogin and Nobunaga paused.

Then Uvogin scratched his head, grinning. "Ah… things escalated."

Gunfire resumed from the gang's backup forces.

Kai didn't need context.

Didn't care.

They'd fired on his allies. They were enemies now.

And in Meteor City, enemies died.

"Save the excuses. Clean them up—we'll talk later."

The look in his eyes made even Uvogin momentarily sober.

Then Uvogin roared with laughter again.

"BACK TO FULL POWER!! LET'S GO!!"
