Chapter 4 - Phoenix.

[10 years later, 3rd person POV]

*BOOM*

A calm day was quickly turned upside down by the devastating explosion of a bank door. Then, a tall, muscular, blonde man who was shirtless walked out. He had black claw-like tattoos on his chest, and his hair was reminiscent of lions. He was holding a bag of money the size of a small car with ease.

"LION'S BANE ESCAPED JAIL AGAIN!!" A civilian yelled as he ran. Hundreds of others follow suit and Lion's Bane laughed.

"Puny people! You run like gazelle at the smallest sight of danger! Where are the heroes, I seek a glorious battle!!" He yelled.

"Don't worry, the battle has arrived." A woman's voice said from above. Lion's Bane looked up and narrowed his eyes in annoyance.

"War Woman! You are no match for me! Give me Omni-Man or Immortal, I have no interest in fighting someone as weak as yourself!" LB yelled which ticked War Woman off. She didn't continue the conversation and immediately rushed him. She swung her giant mace overhead and tried smashing him into the ground.

It's too bad that LB caught the mace and tossed her to the side. She recovered after a few feet but was immediately met with a glowing right hook to the face, sending her into the concrete. Before her head could get stomped on like a watermelon, she leaped up and flipped onto her feet.

"New magic trick?" She asked with a smirk as she wiped her bloody nose. LB smirked as well, "Indeed. I've figured out how to release my inner warrior."

LB got into a fighting stance and charged War Woman. His hands were glowing with golden energy putting War Woman on edge. Every blow she blocked felt like a freight train ramming into her arms at full power.

War Woman tried sweeping LB's legs but her leg was caught. War Woman uppercutted him with her mace making him let go of her leg. She then went for a gut punch but LB's glowing torso negated all damage.

His savage smile bloodied now, was still spread across his face. He grabbed her face and slammed it into the ground, causing the entire sidewalk to fly up. He then dragged her across the ground before throwing her into a nearby building. War Woman flew through the entire building and when she exited the other side, LB was in the air ready to kick her into the ground.

*BOOM*

LB's devastating kick created a huge crater in the road and in the center was a bloodied and beaten War Woman. Her jaw was hanging off her face and her left arm was mangled.

"What did I tell you? You are no match for me…perhaps you will learn your lesson in the afterlife!" LB was about to deliver the finishing blow when a yellow-gloved hand stopped his fist.

Standing in front of him was a beautiful girl with flaming red hair dressed in a green latex suit with a golden phoenix on her chest. Her golden eyes glanced towards War Woman and then back at LB.

"Seems like I was too late. Good thing she's not dead…or I'd have to kill you Lion's Bane." The girl said, her voice sounding like multiple people speaking at once. Lion's Bane tried pulling his fist out of her grip but it didn't budge.

"Who are you little girl?!" He yelled and the girl in front of him smirked.

"Only the greatest hero ever…Phoenix!" She said grandly as she punched him in the gut, sending him flying through the same building War Woman flew through.

"Now that he's gone, lets help you out a little bit." Jeanne bent down and placed her hand on War Woman. Her body gained a slight glow and her wounds slowly began to heal. Jeanne smiled, "All better! Now to deal with that brute."

Jeanne moved so fast from an outsiders perspective she looked like she teleported. She reappeared above the rubble LB found himself in.

"GRAAAAHH!! I'LL KILL YOU, LITTLE GIRL!!" LB emerged from the rubble with his entire body enshrouded in the golden energy. He leaped up trying to grab Jeanne but she dodged with ease.

"Whoops, gotta be faster than that!" She laughed with her hands on her stomach. LB growled and threw a huge concrete chunk at her. The chunk didn't even touch her body as it collided with her forcefield.

"Okay, okay no more playing around. I have places I need to be." Jeanne lifted LB with her telekinesis and lightly squeezed her hand.

"AAAAAHHHHHH!!!" LB screamed in agony as he felt his bones slowly get crushed. Jeanne floated close to him as he was enduring this agony.

"Oh does it hurt? You want me to stop?" She asked mockingly. She stopped torturing LB and knocked him out with a punch to the face. She then used the nearby rubble to contain LB.

'Don't wake up for 48 hours.' She commanded. She then lifted War Woman and left the scene. With the only casualties being the ones inside of the bank and minimal damage, this day was a good one in her books.

[The Pentagon, Parking in Rear]

"Another day saved by yours truly! You know if I worked for you Cecil, I would be better than the Guardians alone." I shrugged boastfully at the balding deformed man. Cecil rolled his eyes and sighed.

"Yeah, kid sure," He said as he looked at the sleeping War Woman, "So you can heal wounds now? It's like you gain a new ability every day."

"That wasn't anything new, I've just never had to use it before. I'm usually at the scene before a beating like that happens." I said and Cecil nodded his head in agreement.

"Welp, thanks, kid. Good luck on your date." Cecil said as he left the hospital room. I felt my cheeks get a little warm, it wasn't a date! It was a day out with my best friend! I looked at my phone and it was already 5:30?! I gotta get ready!

I flew out of the Pentagon and straight home. This universe was so different from the original canon. Like when I met Nick Fury my eyes nearly popped out of my head! When I was younger I thought I was in the original canon but now I'm pretty sure this is some sort of crossover alternate universe or something.

For instance, Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Bruce Banner all go to my school! I almost exploded when I realized my best friend was Natasha Romanoff, like WHAT?! I could talk all day about everything I had to do to reverse all the bullshit she was put through but that's up to The Man Upstairs.

I stopped flying once I was above my house but before I went inside I saw a trash bag flying across the sky at breakneck speeds. Looks like my brother finally got his powers! Now we can become the ultimate sibling duo! Invincible and Phoenix!

I flew in through my window and I sensed no one was home, good. I took my suit off and looked at the giant Phoenix burned into my chest, a painful but beneficial process that Phoenix said would help us have better synergy. I awakened my Viltrumite powers around six months ago but I've been an established hero for around a year now.

I looked through my closet and found a nice leopard print tank top with some ripped jeans and a pair of sandals. I took a nice shower and got ready with time to spare.

6:00, our uhh, outing was planned for 6:15. I grabbed my purse and made sure to go through my mental checklist before I walked out of the door. I walked across Natasha's yard and knocked on her door. Her fake mother answered the door with a smile.

"Hi, Jeanne! Natasha is still getting ready, but you can still come in and wait if you would like." Victoria said with a bright smile. I reversed the brainwashing on her too and positively brainwashed her. I thought about killing Cecil once I found out but it wasn't worth it, my brother will deal with him in the future, and if not he is going to die within three years anyway.

"Thank you, Mrs. Yeager." I smiled and walked in. I sat on their couch and smelled the delicious scent of food in the air. Natasha's house always smells good and she always smells good…

I was brought out of my trance when I heard footsteps at the top of the stairway. There she was, wearing a white tube top, jean shorts, and white sandals. She had light makeup on and I could smell her fragrant perfume.

"You ready?" She asked as she tilted her head. Our eyes made contact and I couldn't help but look away, "Uh, yeah, mhm!"

"Great!" She jogged downstairs and helped me out of the chair and I felt her soft hands touch mine.

"Would you rather fly or-"

"Fly! You know I love flying!" She exclaimed with a bright smile. Flying it is!

"Alright then!" I laughed as we said goodbye to her mom. I scooped her up in a princess carry and took off.
