Chapter 23 - **Chapter 23: Mihir's Last Day in That Case**

Mihir understood everything now. He thought that maybe it was his friend who was responsible. But he had already been killed. It was okay, because Mihir had recognized him. But what had happened to his family? That had to be hidden.

He immediately left everything and reached that man's house. He entered through the back door again and started searching for something. He found a phone lying in a corner. It had been switched off for a long time. Mihir picked it up and put it in his pocket. Then he searched the place again.

This time, he found a small piece of paper that was folded and rusted. He kept it too. But after that, he didn't find anything else, so he left from there.

Then he went to his secret room and tried to open the phone. But it still wasn't switching on—it had been off for too long. He plugged it into charge and left it there.

Meanwhile, he scanned the old and rusted paper into the PC. The picture became visible, but the paper was folded and the writing was not clear. Somehow, he managed to adjust the image and print the writing properly.

When he saw what was written on it, Mihir was shocked.

It was an address. A place—probably an old mill—that was about to be shut down.

Mihir searched everywhere and finally found details about that mill. It was 500 kilometers away from his house. He decided he would leave that night and return by the next afternoon.

As night came, he left for the mill. His bike sped through the night, racing with the wind, going at least 100 km/h. He reached the mill at 5 in the morning. It had turned into a ruin.

He began surveying the entire place. He found only two cameras and nothing else. He tried searching more, but it was no use.

Then he immediately left from there and reached home at 5 in the evening. He went straight to his secret room. The phone had finally switched on. And he also had the memory cards from the CCTV cameras.

He took out both memory cards and checked them on the PC. There were lots of files and videos. But he couldn't understand which one was the right one.

Then he turned on the phone, and it automatically started playing recordings. He noticed that one number had a lot of conversation saved. He began listening to the recordings one by one.

Then he came across a recording dated the day before his family disappeared. He couldn't find the recording of the actual day, but this one was close.

He heard his friend's voice and that man's wife's voice.

His friend said, *"Bhabhi, you've come here? I have to show you something. Bring everyone with you."*

The man's wife replied, *"Okay, Babu. I'll come tomorrow."*

This was the recording. Mihir checked the date. It matched with the CCTV footage date.

What he saw next confirmed everything.

Now, what was in that video that proved the man was behind it all?

As Mihir played the first video, he saw the man waiting for someone. Hours passed. Then, in the afternoon, the family of the man who had died arrived at the mill.

In the video, the man asked the woman, *"Bhabhi ji, did you tell anyone or bring someone with you?"*

She replied, *"No Babu, nothing like that. Tell me, what did you want to show?"*

In the third video, Mihir saw the man suddenly and brutally attack the woman, stabbing her in the neck again and again.

In the fourth video, after killing the woman, her children came running toward their mother, screaming.

But the man didn't spare even the children. He slit both of their throats.

In the fifth video, Mihir saw him stuffing the bodies into a drum and pouring chemicals into it. The dead bodies melted and disappeared. The man left the place.

After watching all this, Mihir was completely shaken. But he noticed some wounds on the man's body in the video and wondered—who could have done that?

He began searching everything about that man—his number, his social media. Then he found an article. The man had been murdered a few weeks ago.

Mihir was shocked again.

He carefully kept all the evidence in a cupboard and finally felt relaxed. It felt like he had solved the case. The man who had done such a cruel act was already dead. That meant the family had gotten justice.

Mihir had finally solved the case. It had taken him one month.

He couriered a copy of the videos to the Police Commissioner.

*"Thank you,"* he wrote. *"The wrong person accused in this case must be cleared."*

The Police Commissioner watched the videos and called all the news reporters. He said, *"This man was honest and true. His friend betrayed him and killed him. Here is the proof."*

Mihir gave justice to a family. He exposed lies and showed the truth.

Now that the case was solved, he thought, it was time to rest and relax.

But in the middle of all this, Heer, Sia, and Sunny had forgotten to check their phones. So many calls and messages had come.

Just as Mihir was about to sleep, someone came to his door and started banging on it loudly.
