[Would you like to draw a new associated character? Yes / No]
"Yes."
Solon knew very well that clearing a mid-level simulation without a golden-tier trait was practically impossible. So he didn't waste time trying Qingque's mid-level route. Instead, he immediately chose to draw a new character.
With a familiar gacha-style animation, a card soon appeared in front of him.
"Wait—her?!"
The woman on the card had long white hair, tall fox-like ears, a face both beautiful and seductive, yet her demeanor was bold and dashing—almost more roguish than a man's.
She wore a teal qipao-style backless top beneath her coat. Her impressive bust stood proud, as though the crimson knot tied at her chest would burst free at any second.
Her hotpants made it easy to move and put her long, powerful, perfectly sculpted legs on full display. Anyone caught between those thighs would have a hard time escaping.
A long white trench coat draped over her shoulders, radiating a gallant and heroic aura. Her charm transcended gender—both men and women would cheer and swoon for her.
In one hand she wielded a heavy axe-spear, and in the other an old-style musket with a long blade affixed. Her lips curled into a confident smirk, exuding dominance over all.
No doubt about it—it was Feixiao, the Skystrike General known for her string of decisive victories.
Solon rubbed his chin.
Drawing Feixiao was actually a good pull.
She wasn't currently on the Luofu. Instead, she was leading the Cloud Knights of Yaoqing in battle against the Abundance cultists.
Under her command, the Cloud Knights were almost undefeated—every briefing report was the same: Victory! Victory! Victory!
That's how she earned her nickname: the General of Triumph.
As a frontline commander, there was no way Feixiao would abandon her troops and come back to the Luofu just to settle personal grudges.
Which meant that—at least until the Celestial Tournament of Stars and other major events—she'd be too busy to cause Solon any trouble.
Solon's goal all along had been to gain enough power before the real plot began, so he could ensure his own safety.
Given that, picking Feixiao seemed like a safe bet.
He decisively clicked on her simulation.
[Would you like to begin this simulation? (Difficulty: Beginner)]
"Yes."
[Please select three starting traits. After the simulation ends, you may keep one as a permanent trait for free.]
[Perfect Bloodline (Gold): You possess the most flawless bloodline. You can absorb the advantages of any bloodline up to gold-tier quality, integrating them while removing all genetic defects.]
(Note: This is a beginner-difficulty bonus and cannot be selected during end-of-simulation reward selection.)
[Battlefield Commander (Blue): You are proficient at commanding large-scale armies of up to 100,000 troops in coordinated battle.]
[Unarmed Combat (Green): You excel at using your body to fight bare-handed. Your damage output increases slightly when unarmed.]
[Bottomless Appetite (Green): You digest everything you eat rapidly and convert it into energy, slightly enhancing your physical body.]
[Loves to Drink (White): You love alcohol and have an exceptional tolerance. When paired with "Drunk" series traits, effect increases slightly.]
[Handsome Appearance (Green): You're strikingly attractive and easily gain favor from others.]
Solon almost drooled at the sight of the gold-tier trait.
Among all the gold traits he'd seen so far, this one was far stronger.
The difference between this and the previous golden traits was like comparing early-stage gold to peak gold—on a whole different level.
Still, Solon quickly regained composure. If the system was giving out something this overpowered for free, the next simulation was sure to be much harder.
He reviewed the rest of the traits. They were all decent—only further confirming his suspicions.
And unlike previous simulations that allowed only two traits, this one let him choose three.
Besides the mandatory gold-tier bonus, Solon quickly chose the only blue trait.
Even though he had no idea how commanding a hundred-thousand-man army was supposed to help him personally, he assumed it would relate to the simulation.
When it came to the last pick, he hesitated.
There were three green traits, but only two seemed useful. One of them was clearly filler.
He was stuck between Unarmed Combat and Bottomless Appetite.
On paper, Unarmed Combat would immediately boost his combat power.
But Bottomless Appetite—like his "Accumulated Practice" trait—was more of a long-term investment. The kind of thing that only shines after a slow grind.
After a brief moment of thought, Solon picked Bottomless Appetite.
[Age 0: You are born.]
[You are a hybrid of a Buli person and a Foxian. Due to an unusual mutation, your bloodline becomes incredibly pure and flawless, combining the strengths of both while removing all flaws.]
[You look like a Foxian, but can easily shift into a wolf-headed Buli form. Your physical abilities surpass those of ordinary Buli, and your mind is as sharp as the Foxians'.]
[You can enter the "Lunar Frenzy" state like the Buli, gaining immense physical strength in battle—while retaining full rationality.]
[You are perfect.]
Just reading those few lines made Solon gasp.
No wonder it was a gold-tier trait. The effect was absurdly broken.
He decided right then: as soon as he earned an A-rank rating, he would redeem this trait.
The system didn't allow players to pick these gold-tier bonuses after simulation unless they earned it legitimately—no free wins.
For example, if he only got a B, he could only trade for a purple-tier trait. That rule was clearly designed to prevent abuse.
But with an A-rank, it would be fair game.
Once he obtained it, his talent would skyrocket, letting him become an overwhelming force with ease.
And the earlier he got it, the better—so it was best to aim for it quickly.
Just as Solon was dreaming of his glorious future, the simulation began to spiral.
[Age 1: Among the Buli, Foxians are considered an inferior slave race. Because you carry Foxian blood, you are severely ostracized.]
[Age 2: Your father, under his wife's instigation, executed your mother. Reason: A Foxian gave birth to a Buli child, defiling the sacred bloodline.]
[Age 3: You are rejected by the Buli for having Foxian blood, and spurned by Foxians for being Buli. You must find your own way to survive.]
[You have a large appetite but often go hungry. You survive with great difficulty.]
Solon's brow furrowed. As expected, the early stages were brutal. Especially with Bottomless Appetite, which hadn't even had a chance to activate yet.
