Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Call Me God of Gambling

[Age 0: You were born into an ordinary family aboard the Xianzhou.]

[Age 1: During your birthday ritual, you grabbed a pair of dice.]

[Your father was overjoyed—he was an avid gambler. Your mother, however, was distraught. The family had some savings once, but ever since your father fell into gambling, your household steadily declined.]

No prestigious lineage. Solon found this start a little hard to stomach.

It was a tough opening roll—of all things, why did he have to land a gambling-addicted father?

It only deepened his aversion to gambling.

Unfortunately, the simulation continued.

[Age 6: Your father finally lost everything. After racking up massive debts, he took his own life.]

[Worse yet—the true creditor behind those debts was the Interastral Peace Corporation. In other words, your family owed corporate credit points.]

Solon raised an eyebrow. He knew from Jarilo-VI's history just how ruthless IPC contracts could be.

There was no such thing as "the debt dies with the debtor." The IPC believed in generational repayment—father dies, son pays; son dies, grandson pays. Debts carried on with interest, trapping entire bloodlines in servitude.

Just as Solon considered restarting the scenario, a twist appeared.

[The gamblers who lured your father into debt break into your home, intending to take your mother as repayment. Your choices are:]

Call the Ten-Lords Commission or the Cloud Knights.

Provoke them and challenge them to a gamble.]

Option 1 would be too slow, and IPC-backed thugs likely had legal immunity. Reporting to authorities wouldn't help.

Solon thought for a moment and chose 2.

After all, what was the point of having a gold God of Gambling Trait if not for moments like this?

[You sneered and taunted them, luring them into betting against you.]

[They took the bait—but you lacked the capital to gamble.]

["I still have my life, don't I?" you said flatly. "I'll bet that."]

["You've got guts, kid! If you win, the debt's cleared! If you lose, your life is mine!"]

[It's your first actual gamble, but your father used to drag you along, so you're no stranger to it.]

[You easily defeat your opponent, displaying incredible gambling talent.]

[Surprisingly, the gang member is thrilled. Even in the underworld, talent is everything. Your gift impressed him.]

[He even proposes adopting you as his godson and teaching you the art of gambling. You hesitate… and choose:]

Refuse righteously.

"If you don't mind taking me in, I'll call you Father."]

Solon immediately knew that choosing 1 would be fatal.

These were underworld types—if they couldn't own talent, they'd rather destroy it.

Besides, this man was tied to the death of Solon's father. If Solon let that grudge go unavenged, what kind of transmigrator would he be?

Many transmigrators would wipe out entire families over the smallest insult.

Since the man was offering him a chance to become Lü Bu, why hold back?

Solon chose 2 without hesitation.

[Age 7: Under your adoptive father's guidance, you begin studying various forms of gambling.]

[Age 8–18: You train relentlessly, becoming so skilled that even veteran gambling masters fall before you.]

[Age 20: Your name spreads through the gambling world.]

[But gradually, you notice something. Though he calls you his godson, your adoptive father is always wary. To him, you're just a tool for making money.]

Solon stroked his chin. Now that's more like a proper villain.

You don't rise through the underworld without being ruthless. This man's flaw was greed—he coveted Solon's talent and used him for profit. But in doing so, he planted a seed of destruction.

If their roles were reversed, Solon wouldn't have hesitated—he would've wiped out the man's bloodline, pet dog included, and scrambled the eggs in his fridge.

Solon wasn't here to play nice.

[You bury your hatred deep within. You know patience is key. Stay close, and your chance will come.]

[Age 200: One entire Amber Era later, you finally get your revenge. By then, you've dominated the entire gambling world—

From ability-users with supernatural insight, to sleight-of-hand cheaters, Pathwalkers, and even hyper-intelligent automatons—none could defeat you.]

[Rumor has it you even defeated Sandgold, one of the famed Ten Stonehearts, and a mysterious Joyful Commission envoy—earning the gaze of Aha himself.]

[You became the one and only, undisputed God of Gambling.]

[Your adoptive father grew wealthy beyond imagination off your talent, eventually becoming a Level P45 executive in the IPC.]

[Then it all fell apart.]

[You finally made your move. You and Sandgold staged a scheme that ruined him completely. He lost everything—his assets, his title, even his status.]

[From the heights of power to total disgrace, he couldn't take it. He jumped from the IPC's headquarters on Planet Pill Pierpoint.]

[Splat. Just like that.]

Solon imagined a tall, powerful figure raising his halberd high and roaring:

"A man is born between heaven and earth—how can he suffer to live beneath another?"

But what shocked Solon most was how patient—how cruel—his simulated self had become.

Waiting until the man was at his peak, then ruining him utterly… it was a fate worse than death. It drove the man to suicide.

Textbook example of a shrimp-hearted pig-hearted villain.

[Having avenged your father, you refuse the IPC's attempts to retain you and return to the Xianzhou to live in quiet anonymity—retiring early like a seasoned noble.]

[To you, gambling was never the end. It was only a tool—for revenge.]

[Age 210: Though retired, legends of you still circulate across the galaxy. You kept a low profile, and because of the secretive nature of gambling, few even know what you look like.]

[One day, you're strolling through the streets of Changle Heaven and spot a group of gamblers playing a tile game similar to mahjong.]

[At the table is a young girl in green robes.]

["At her age… already falling into this?"]

[Anger wells up in your chest. You decide to give her… a lesson she won't forget.]
