Chapter 15 - FOOD!~

Well, it was brilliant!

Payne Hanberg, who was a true lover of ancient history, admired the ingenuity he just witnessed. Some people didn't care much about the waterwheels, while other people deeply gave the wheels double looks.

Finally, they arrived at the top of the hill, and were met with Gort, Park Fairbang, Old Axe, Frosh Shield, Hendo, and several others Gort had personally invited to work at the Company.

At first, they didn't want to. But after spending just a few days here, they truly felt the magic of Gort's secret fertilizer. Of course, because they were looking at the grown fruits as money, they dared not taste a single thing here.

No matter how much Gort has asked his mother to use the grown produce to cook meals for their cafeteria lunch, she too rejected his offer, alongside others.

In their eyes, this was all money!

$$$$$$

"Are you Mr. Gort?" One of the buyers asked when seeing Gort step forward.

"Yes, you can just call me Gort."

After exchanging pleasantries, Gort finally knew who was who. Park Fairbang and the others were also introduced.

"I'll be honest with you, I didn't truly believe you when we spoke over the phone. But I still came because of my intuition."

"Me too. It sounds ridiculous, but what if you can truly succeed? Then wouldn't I be regretting it to death later on?"

Several people laughed and chuckled while following Gort in.

First, they were shown to a sanitizing chamber one by one. Following that, they were given gloves and boots. And when the overly thick double-sided metal door at the other end was opened, all they could say was—DAMN!

Their eyes now throbbed in their sockets when staring at the unbelieve scene before them.

Where were they? What mythical land had they now found themselves in? And why was everything several times bigger in size than usual?

Could tulips grow so big that they were now the size of 6 feet tall humans? Have you ever seen a tomato so big?

Could it be that the fairy godmother in Cinderella didn't use magical powers to create a carriage from a pumpkin, but could actually make one by growing one herself and carving it up from the inside?

Sure, there were no pumpkins here, but one gets the picture, okay?

This… This…. This…

Till now, everyone's knees couldn't stop quaking. And only when they touched these growing produce, did they believe everything was real.

They all got crouched down, touching, observing and inspecting these produce. Only after doing this, did they confirm that they were indeed looking at tomatoes, watermelons and ginsengs. So how did they make it grow so big artificially?

Truth be told, when it comes to artificial growth of any product, most people get scared because of the risk when it comes to taste and nutrition.

'It seems that Gort didn't disappoint, but how does the taste go?' Payne Hanberg thought. And just like him, others also wanted to know what it tasted like.

Gort, as if sensing their thoughts, now led everyone black to the Cafeteria. And soon enough, Clare Rei appeared with the wives of the men, rolling trolleys with dishes covered with serving lids.

—And now, was the moment of truth.

The group took spoonfuls of the dishes, and almost couldn't contain the excitement they now felty.

Slurp, slurp, slurp~

No one knew when, but everyone suddenly couldn't pull themselves from their meals.

Eat, eat, eat!

They've never eaten anything so good in their lives. The rice was normal, but the tomato sauce was on another whole level.

It was so good that they felt like seizing the remaining tomato sauce on the table and gulping all down their throats greedily.

Crunch~

The watermelon pieces were also the right mix of crunchy and juicy. But there was also a magical element to it that brought out the watermelon's true taste. And don't even get them started on the ginseng.

Help, help… they couldn't stop eating.

Who will come to save them? Who can tell them why everything tastes so good now?

"Damn you! Don't you know the meaning of sharing? Let go of that serving now."

"Screw you! You're one to talk to, after finishing a whole bowl of those melons all by yourself!"

"Hey, old man, don't think that because of your age, you can wallow up so many dishes and we won't say a thing!"

"Oh yeah? Well, bite me! Who made you all slow? I'll have you know that in my younger days, I wasn't called Speedy Jaws for nothing!"

"Mwa, mwa, mwa~... What is this taste? What is this sweetness? More, more… I must have more!"

There was 17 minutes of uninterrupted chowing and conversation.

Even the most elegant and wealthiest of them didn't know when they had developed the habit of eating like pigs.

Strength, their fatigue had vanished into thin air, and some of them even felt that their hidden ailments had also decreased too.

Perhaps it was psychological?
