Chapter 3 - Midnight Eco

The black Porsche 911 Turbo growled softly in the silence.

Two more cars followed, sleek and dark—perfect for a gang that didn't need to announce their power.

Inside, Tae-hyun sat behind the wheel, his hands steady.

Shin Hye was beside him, her gaze lost somewhere beyond the window. The car smelled of leather and cold air.

For a while, no one spoke.

Then Tae-hyun broke the silence.

Tae-hyun (steady voice):

"Don't worry, Shin. I'll find Alex. He'll regret betraying you."

Shin Hye didn't look at him. She didn't even blink.

She kept watching the passing streets, her face unreadable.Shin Hye (after a long pause):

"I'm not worried.

And he will pay.

But... maybe it's just the weather.

Something feels... off."

Tae-hyun glanced sideways at her, cautious, but said nothing.

She didn't return the look.

Then, suddenly—a sound.

A girl's scream, sharp and distant, tearing through the empty night.

It was nearly 1 a.m. The world was so quiet that even a whisper could travel for miles.

Shin Hye (coldly):

"Turn the car."

Tae-hyun (surprised):

"What?"Shin Hye (voice firm):

"Back to the street we just passed."

Tae-hyun hesitated for half a second, then turned the car around.

The road they entered was narrow and suffocating.

Dim, broken streetlights buzzed overhead, flickering like they were about to die.

Tangled wires drooped low across the street, swaying in the lazy night wind.

The place smelled of rust and old dust.

Shin Hye stepped out without a word.

Tae-hyun followed, his footsteps light but alert. The night was empty.

Empty houses. Empty streets.

Not a single soul in sight.

Tae-hyun stayed close behind her. He wasn't worried.

He knew Shin Hye had always battled something deeper—those moments where her senses screamed louder than reality.

Maybe this was just another echo of her mind.

But Shin Hye didn't believe in "maybes."

She trusted her instincts.
