*Boom*
A gunshot rang.
Without a single motion, the machine, V1 drew its blue-coloered gun from its arsenal and shot it giving Sakura no time to react.
Unlike Sakura however, Kirby was able to react just fine but without having the leisure to open its mouth, Kirby moved in Sakura's way to take the hit for him.
"K-Kirby noooo~!" Sakura said distressed.
*ring* *ring*, *ring*
Without giving the two the time, V1 coldly threw three coins in the air.
Knowing the coin mechanic of ULTRAKILL, Sakura stopped himself from punching a coin that flew past his cheek and flickered the coin with his finger instead.
The moment Sakura's finger touched the coins, two orange projectile—delivering 150% the force behind Sakura's flicker—traveled at instanateous speed and chased for another coins.
Then, the orange projectiles once again split into two, each targetting Sakura and the coins...
In total, six projectiles ricocheted toward Sakura packing a punch.
To make matters worse, due to the projectile traveling at instantaneous speed, his nervous system registered six damages as 'one' pain.
Sakura's head flew backward dragging his body from the force.
"Ouch, ouch, ow!" Sakura squeaked at the spot, holding his steaming red forehead.
All this happened with a flicker of a finger. If he had punched that coin, he would've died with a hole in his brain by now.
'What the hell is with the player sensitivity!? Why is it so painful!' Sakura thought and hurriedly stood up, to see Kirby—with a hole still in its body from shielding Sakura—facing V1.
The problem with this battle is V1 refusing to give you a leisure by 'reacting' like a human with emotion. Even if Sakura surprisingly counters his great move, V1 would only proceed to his next move.
"Kirby, if you see coins, hit it weakly! If you ignore it, V1 will combo you with whatever the coolest shit he could. Beware of also accidentally hitting it with all your might. Damage will just return to you hurting you greatly," Sakura warned Kirby.
In response, Kirby nodded refusing to take its eyes off V1.
'I really want to help you Kirby but there is no choice! I can only watch you fight against V1 and hope I don't pull your leg!' Sakura thought to himself, holding back the desire to grab popcorn and watch the fight unfold.
At this moment, numerous calculations ran inside V1. To Sakua's demise, the calculation arrived at the answer telling Sakura was more of a threat than Kirby.
Throughout its numerous battle in hell, aside from its second battle against V2—a counterpart of him—its opponents knew nothing about what he could do and he was able to use that advantage to its favor.
But now, an opponent who is informed of it potentially knows more about itself than V1 himself was aware of, had just appeared.
Aside from being a troublesome opponent, Sakura was also much weaker than Kirby. Before he could tell everything he knows to Kirby, V1 decided to eliminate him.
With Kirby lunging forward to it, V1 decided to throw a coin in front of him, halting Kirby's movement in fear of receiving a counter. Then, he took out a rocket, freezes it in mid-air, rides it, and then unfroze the rocket. Accomplishing the rocket-ride.
But a question filled Sakura's mind with "Why".
With the distance between them, jump-sliding was enough to fill in the gap and approach him but V1 didn't do so.
"By chance, is the player who controlled this V1 in the past an idiot?" Sakura leisurely said as he moved his body sideways.
V1 could control the rocket he was riding but it couldn't take a sharp turn.
"As long as the rocket doesn't hit its enemy directly, a harmful explosion won't occur," as Sakura explained, he lightly moved to the left causing the rocket to hit the land, sending a harmless shockwave and launching Sakura away from the spot, separating the two further.
However just as Sakura thought he escaped, a hook attached to his body, launched from V1's fist.
"Shit, shit! I forgot about this! If you attach a hook to a weaker, smaller enemy…! Please, hurry!…" Sakura reminisced his memory and pleaded to god knows who.
[Analyzing the unknown substance 98%…]
Just as Sakura had predicted, the hook, instead of launching V1 to his side—a phenomenon that occurs when he hooks to a giant enemy,—V1 pulled Sakura itself and this was a huge problem as it increased Kirby's distance with him.
[Analyze has been completed. Registering the information of 'Logia Devil Fruit' to the system.]
"Yes! Here comes my invincibility!" Sakura celebrated his victory but soon regretted it.
[Removing the 'Intangibility' factor of Logia Devil Fruit to prevent hindering the entertainment value.]
Never celebrate too early.
But he couldn't just give up too early. With all his might, Sakura released a blazing hot flame all over his body turning into the second sun.
Although the heat Sakura emitted couldn't be compared with the one Ace used in original work, it was enough to boil the liquid below and caused V1 to attempt to get away from him.
Albeit, he was a step too late as Sakura's arms were clutched tight to him. "Parry this, you bastard!!"
V1 retaliated by punching him in the guts but Sakura's adrenaline was past point the level of feeling pain. Perhaps it is due to the system removing the 'elemental body' aspect of logia devil fruit—the blazing flame had already burnt off a part of his nerve system causing him to feel numb.
At this instance of desperation, a huge *bang* runs through the room, a smoke flaring up from V1's green-colored railcannon, causing a drill to dig through a hole in Sakura's body, splashing his blood everywhere.
"…You idiot! The correct option here would be to create a nuke by shooting a shotgun core with a red railcannon, separating the two of us!" Sakura laughed almost maniacally as his flame intensified.
The blazing hot flame melted even his blood as the red liquid dissipated before it touched V1's body never reaching to regenerate him with blood.
As the two intense close combat continued, Kiby's footstep could be heard resonated with the sounds of water splashing as it opened its mouth wide, absorbing the two.
Just before Sakura was absorbed, he released his grip and kicked V1 into Kirby's mouth, completely absorbing him, or rather, the purple energy corrupting its coding.
"Poyo~!" Upon seeing Sakura's worn-out body, Kirby rushed over him with watery eyes.
"Ahahaha, games are so fun…" Sakura laughed despite his stomach still aching from the drill digging into his flesh.
Then, he gave Kirby a thumbs-up.
'It allows you to get involved with your favorite story…' Sakura never uttered these words.
Soon enough, after Kirby was done digesting the purple energy, V1 was ejected out of Kirby's body.
In order to fulfill its 'duty', it tried to eliminate the worn out Sakura but was stopped by Kirby who looked at it angrily for hurting its friend.
Then, V1 stopped its action and sought another source of blood to regenerate itself.
"You stopped him for me? Thank you, Kirby," with haggard breathing, Sakura thanked Kirby.
"Poyo!" Kirby once again beat its non-existent chest as if to say, "With me here, no one can hurt you!"
Kirby felt a little down because it wasn't of much help from the previous fight, but he cheered up with Sakura's countless encouraging.
After a while when Kirby was thinking of a way to heal Sakura, V1 returned with the humanoid creatures from earlier, Filth in his hand.
"Heya… you won't try to kill me anymore, won't you…?" Sakura said weakly.
V1 reacted nothing. He just walked toward Sakura's injured body and placed the Filth above him, crushing its head like an apple as it fell lifeless.
The blood oozed from Filth traveled to Sakura, mysteriously healing him.
"Wha… have I gained V1's abili-," Just as Sakura was about to question him, notification rang out.
[A disturbance from outside has been detected. The system will now eject the player's consciousness. ]
'Damn it! Who dares disturb this great father's gaming session?'
He looked around lazily, still feeling weak from earlier fatigue. Although his physical body wasn't affected in any way, his mentality was still tired.
Upon taking a closer look, the disturbance from outside wasn't anywhere in front of him but below him.
The egg was hatching.
"Oh no, I was just joking with a Chinese idiom but I may really turn into a father," Sakura's face darkened. He was just getting used to the egg-shaped hugging pillow.
What would he do if it was gone now?
A green head and a red spike peeked out from the egg's shell.
