Chapter 7 - Fiancé

"Luke, get up, LUKE!!!" Samuel said, waking up from his sleep, he rubbed his eyes as he said

"What is it, Samuel?"

"Go wash up now, your fiancé is in the dining room waiting for you," Samuel said as Luke, still sleepy, did not register what he said as he tried to go back to sleep, only for realization to hit him like a truck. He got up and said

"What? The royal princess is in the dining room. Fuck"

'I knew this would happen, but not this fast, does she have nothing else to do?' He thought as he quickly got ready using magic that his servants generously used on him, this resulted in him being ready in record time, as he decided not to copy any affinity while they were doing this, since almost all of it was just common elements anyway. He went to the dining table now dressed in casual clothing with a raincoat that extends to his legs, a white shirt, and black cargo pants.

Luke walked in and set his eyes directly on the beautiful light blonde hair of the princess, he was taken back by her beauty but he was able to catch himself from falling too deep. 'Remember, Power first, anything else comes later on. System scan her' He mentally assured himself and commanded the system.

[ Name: Princess Claudia Ashlet Valterion

 Affinity: Fire (Tier-7), Gold (Tier-9)

Skill: Golden Flame (SS-rank) (SSS-rank when achieved full potential)]

'So, she is one of those defective skills awakers, huh?' Luke thought and mentally added a note to not piss her off, He quickly bowed with one hand on his stomach to show respect towards the princess and then looked at his dad. Who gave him that one dead eye and just continued to eat, 'He is looking at me with the emotionally dead person look in front of my fiance,' He thought.

"Hello, I am Princess Claudia Ashlet Valterion, and who are you?" Claudia said, looking at his dress, and thought that he was a servant like Samuell. Luke's attention was brought to her again as he said

"I am Luke, Luke Wayne. Your Fiance, Please, if you ma,y princess, can we go take a walk in the garden?" Luke asked as his father looked at him and then continued eating, not even bothering to question his son on his decision. Luke just sighed at his father's antics while the princess's gloved hand was placed on top of his as she said

"Sure, I also have something to talk to you about."

They left the wayne manor under the watchful eyes of all the servants and hopefully the watchful eye of Damion. They walked for a while and chatted, by chatted it means Claudia asked a bunch of questions and Luke answered them and asked 'how about you in the end?'

Claudia did not reveal her intentions at first, as they shared most about things they liked. She answered with a regal and neutral tone of voice. "So, your favorite color is?"

"None of them," Luke answered, bored out of his mind. Claudia said

"Oh? Everyone has their favorite things. Mine is Yellowish gold, it reminds me of my mother's flame. Her voice towards the end showed some emotion, then her neutral voice, although not much to be able to tell what she was feeling, but enough to tell that she was feeling something, unlike a certain father.

"I don't have favorite things, especially in things like color, flavor, etc," Luke said, his voice neutral, while Claudia looked at him like he was an animal in the zoo and said

"You are weird."

"Nah, it's just you are too illogical. I mean, look at it this way, while we were walking from the manor to the garden, we passed nearly a 1000 colors. If we were to only see one color, no matter if it is our favorite or not, the world would be boring. The world itself is only enjoyable when all the colors are present, so why choose a favorite since all of them are equally important?" Luke countered with an imaginary glass appearing on his face as he pushed it up like a certain detective from his past life. 'I just realized, why didn't I write the famous manga and stories from my past life into this world?' he thought.

"That…That somehow makes sense," Claudia answered after thinking for a while, then realized she forgot about the engagement while talking to him. She coughed as she said, "Luke, I want to discuss something serious. You may want to sit down."

Luke looked back into her eyes as she looked away, but to her surprise, he said, "Is it about the annulment of the engagement? Don't bother, I agree to it."

Claudia did not believe what she just heard as she stared in utter disbelief as luke went to the tallest tree in the garden and slept under it with the most peaceful expression. Claudia however was much less peaceful as she asked "HOW? WHY?"

"Geez…not that loud. Are you trying to announce it to the entire capital?" Luke said, Claudia lowered her voice to a much more understandable degree, but still asked with a little bit of energy

"Don't try to divert the topic, answer me or else," Claudia threatened, as Luke looked at her with the most passive eyes, but now had a dangerous glint, and said

"Or else what? What can you do? Scream or throw a tantrum in front of your father. I don't care what you do, but I don't like being threatened. Next time you speak to me in that tone, it will be your last time you speak to anyone."

He applied pressure onto her, as she had a cold sweat form on her back, but as the pressure was gone as Luke took a deep breath, some old memories popped up of things he wished didn't come into this life.

"I am sorry for threatening you," Claudia apologised, a little scared now. 'I can't afford to make him my enemy, or else it is over for my dream to get the throne.' She thought, but Luke had already forgotten her transgressions as he honestly didn't care enough to hold grudges.

"I am sorry too, I shouldn't have reacted that way. As for the answer to your question, let's just say that I, Wayne family, is much more than you realize." Luke said, and added, "I know your ambition to become the first empress of the nation, but I will assure you that the Wayne family will stay neutral whether this engagement exists or not. We will also negate any influence of the Loinheart family, too, if they were to become too much of a problem; that is the stand which the Wayne family has taken since the beginning of the empire, and it will continue that way."

"I see, I am a little disappointed that I was not able to get your support, but thank you for your assurance that you will not go against me," Claudia said truthfully. 'This shut down any sort of deal I could have struck, alas, I guess nothing is better than them going to support my brother.'

"I wish you the best of Luck in your goals," Luke said. He then spotted Samuel holding a tray of freshly baked cookies. 'It seems that my cooking staff–I mean employees were able to re-create Cookies, now it is time for some modern cake.' He thought, as he quickly ran towards Samuel, leaving Claudia behind and forgotten. She simply looked in the direction of where he ran off to and just gave a soft smile, remembering to keep the Wayne family on rise.
