Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Arrest and Being Arrested?

"Awoo~" — Brother, don't run! Why don't we talk it out?

In the heart of a dense and wild forest, the rustling of leaves and snapping of twigs filled the air as Ash Ketchum, now in the form of a Dragonite, soared low beneath the trees. He let out a low, rumbling cry, trying to mimic a real Dragonite's voice as he attempted to communicate with the legendary Pokémon ahead of him—Suicune.

There was no other option. Suicune was simply too fast on land, gliding with elegant speed across the forest floor. Ash realized that if he wanted to catch Suicune, he would have to outsmart it first—lure it into lowering its guard, then act swiftly.

Soon, he heard a telepathic voice resonate in his mind. It was ethereal, noble, and clearly came from Suicune.

"Are you a human or a Pokémon? Why do I sense the presence of that human on you?"

Ash's heart lifted. Suicune was willing to communicate—that was already half the battle won. Just like he had done with Mew before, he decided to fool Suicune with the same trickery.

"Ouch~" — I am a human, but not an ordinary one. I am blessed with divine power, capable of transforming into any Pokémon. My mission is to protect Pokémon like you. If you stay by my side, your powers will grow boundlessly.

To prove his "divine powers," Ash transformed midair into Suicune. His body shimmered as he morphed into the elegant beast, then gracefully leapt from the trees and landed behind the real Suicune. The two Suicunes now ran together through the forest, their graceful forms flowing like rivers through the underbrush.

The scene was breathtaking. If someone had seen them from afar, they would have sworn they were witnessing a divine vision.

But just as Ash thought his plan was working…

Whoosh!

A high-pressure Hydro Pump shot straight toward him from ahead. Suicune had launched a surprise counterattack.

Ash's eyes widened in shock. He barely had time to leap to the side, landing hard on a tree trunk as the water blast tore past him. Had he hesitated for even a second, the attack would have hit him full-on and forcibly canceled his transformation.

Before Ash could recover, Suicune's voice echoed once again in his mind—now with fury.

"Despicable human! Do you think I'd fall for such lies? I don't know how you gained the power of Transform, but I will never serve someone like you!"

Ash froze. So that's what was going on—Suicune had mistaken him for one of the people who had been hunting it earlier. There was no use trying to talk anymore. The only option left was to stop Suicune with force, slow it down, and try to catch it with a Poké Ball.

Without hesitation, Ash leaned forward and launched an Ice Beam. The chilling beam of energy blasted forward, instantly freezing everything in its path—the forest floor, grass, and even some low branches became crystalline ice sculptures.

But Suicune, swift as ever, dodged the attack with agile grace. It was, after all, the fastest of the three legendary beasts.

Ash gritted his teeth. Even though he had taken Suicune's form, he still wasn't fast enough. He couldn't keep up. If this went on, he would only fall further behind.

Thinking quickly, Ash changed his approach. He transformed from Suicune into the adorable and mischievous Mew. This time, instead of chasing physically, he used one of Mew's most useful abilities—Teleport.

Pop!

Ash vanished in an instant, appearing a dozen meters ahead.

Then again.

And again.

He teleported repeatedly—eight times in total—until he finally reappeared directly above Suicune. As he hovered midair, two glowing blue spheres of energy formed in his hands.

Aura Sphere.

Without hesitation, Ash launched the spheres downward at Suicune.

The legendary beast sensed the energy above and glanced up. The moment Suicune saw Mew, its eyes widened in astonishment. But there was no time to process the surprise—the Aura Sphere was closing in fast. Suicune couldn't dodge.

It came to a halt and raised its head high. A dome-shaped, transparent shield materialized, and the Aura Sphere collided with it—neutralized.

Ash wasn't disappointed. In fact, he was thrilled.

This was the moment he had been waiting for. The second Suicune stopped running to defend itself, Ash canceled his transformation and immediately threw a Poké Ball.

Just as the ball left his hand—

Fwoosh!

A searing beam of fire struck Ash from behind. Caught off guard, he was knocked out of the air and sent crashing to the ground, nearly losing control of his transformation.

He barely had time to react before another Poké Ball flew past him, this time aimed at him.

The red light of capture engulfed him.

Still in Mew form, Ash was drawn into the Poké Ball.

From the sky above, five young Trainers descended on flying Pokémon. Leading them was a silver-haired boy riding on a powerful Dragonite. His eyes sparkled with wild hope as he stared at the captured Poké Ball.

"Amitabha, God bless, Jade Emperor bless," he mumbled repeatedly. "Please let this work—let me catch Mew. This would be the greatest catch in the Chengdu Region!"

All five boys stared eagerly at the Poké Ball, so engrossed that they didn't even realize Suicune had taken the opportunity to flee.

Seconds passed.

The Poké Ball glowed red and then—

Ping!

It burst open.

Mew—Ash—floated out, eyes narrowed and filled with fury. He glanced around, only to realize Suicune had vanished. His fists trembled.

"You guys… threw a Poké Ball at me? At me?! You think I'm just some wild Pokémon for you to catch?!"

Ash was so angry he began punching the ground with his tiny fists. It was childish, yes, but he was fuming.

His thoughts burned.

Damn it! He had almost caught Suicune. And now these morons had ruined it all. He couldn't let this go.

The silver-haired Trainer called out, rallying his squad.

"Everyone! Surround Mew! Don't let it get away! This is our biggest find in Chengdu—our only chance to catch a mythical Pokémon like this!"

The others responded quickly, commanding their Flying-types to form a loose perimeter.

Ash scowled. He began charging another Aura Sphere when he suddenly sensed an immense, burning presence not far away. Something primal and powerful.

He looked to the northwest, toward a rocky cliff. There, a mighty Pokémon with a lion-like mane of blazing orange-red fur stood tall—Entei.

The beast roared and leapt from the cliff.

He landed before Ash like a guardian god. Flames erupted around his feet. The air shimmered from the heat.

"Leave."

The word didn't come from his mouth, but from inside their minds.

The silver-haired boy's expression twisted.

"Entei, don't act self-righteous! We let you go earlier, didn't we? So butt out! The Blue and White Society is going to catch this Mew!"

The air went deathly still.

Ash looked at Entei, then at the foolish Trainers daring to stand against him.

He made a snap decision.

He let out a soft mewl and collapsed dramatically onto the ground, feigning weakness. He curled into a ball and pretended to be on the verge of unconsciousness.

Entei glanced at him, and his fierce expression darkened further. With a thunderous roar, he unleashed a blazing Fire Blast at the Trainers.

They panicked, yelling orders to their Pokémon and scrambling to dodge. When the firestorm faded and they cautiously returned, Entei and Ash were gone.

The Dragonite Trainer clenched his fists.

"Call for backup! I want all Blue and White Society members in the area mobilized! Mew is injured. Entei won't have gone far—find them, now!"

He shouted commands furiously as the other boys scrambled to obey.

But deep in the wilderness, Ash lay comfortably curled on Entei's back, smirking.

One point for the good guys.
