"Brother, which way does Route 32 go?"
"Over there."
"Thanks, brother!"
In the early morning light of Violet City, a young man with determined eyes dashed down the cobblestone streets after getting directions from a passerby. His breath was fast but controlled, his pace quick as he muttered to himself with urgency.
"Suicune... please hold on. Don't let anyone catch you before I get there."
Meanwhile, deep within the dense forest along Route 32...
A majestic creature stood silently under the shelter of a towering tree. It was entirely blue with a sleek, slender body adorned with white diamond-shaped patterns across its torso. Its crown, a stunning hexagonal shape, gleamed with a celestial sky-blue glow.
This was Suicune—the embodiment of the North Wind.
However, Suicune was not alone. Surrounding it were several powerful, fully-evolved Pokémon. The tension in the forest was thick.
"Suicune, stop resisting," said a young man mounted atop a Charizard. His hand extended, voice cold and calculating. "Join us. It's your best option."
"We're not your enemies," added a girl standing beside a Blastoise. "We'll bring you to the top of this world. Raikou and Entei will be with us soon. You won't be alone."
Around Suicune, three other powerful Pokémon—Venusaur, Nidoking, and Aggron—stood poised for battle. Each had a trainer standing beside them, their eyes locked on Suicune with unwavering determination.
Suicune met their gazes with calm contempt. A silver mist began swirling at its feet.
"You're still trying that escape trick?" the Charizard rider sneered. "Do you think we'll let you go again? Charizard, flap your wings—blow away that mist!"
The trainer's voice turned sharp. "If you won't come quietly, we'll force you into submission. Everyone, attack!"
Charizard obeyed instantly, flapping its powerful wings and dispersing the mist that had begun to form. At once, the other trainers barked commands.
"Nidoking! Aggron! Take Down, now!"
"Venusaur, Vine Whip!"
"Blastoise, Bubblebeam!"
The Pokémon launched their attacks from multiple directions, intent on subduing Suicune by force.
But Suicune didn't flinch. Its eyes narrowed, then it let loose a beam of icy energy—Aurora Beam, glowing with a frigid light. The attack swept across the battlefield with precision. In mere seconds, Nidoking, Aggron, Venusaur, and Blastoise were frozen solid.
Only Charizard, still airborne, managed to evade the attack.
Suicune seized the opportunity. With elegant speed, it leapt from its position, gliding toward a nearby tree. The north wind picked up behind it, carrying its ethereal form through the clearing like a spirit on the breeze.
It was a scene of rare beauty.
And beauty, as always, draws the desire to possess... or to destroy.
Suddenly—Flamethrower.
A jet of fire streaked through the air and slammed into Suicune mid-leap. The Legendary Pokémon cried out and tumbled heavily to the ground, crashing through branches and dirt with a thud.
The frozen Pokémon quickly broke free of the ice and turned their attention back to the weakened Suicune, now breathing heavily.
Just then, a new figure arrived on the edge of the battlefield.
It was Ash Ketchum.
He stared at the injured Suicune, eyes wide. Instinctively, he reached for a Poké Ball on his belt and prepared to sprint forward.
But he barely took a step before a Water Gun blasted him in the chest, knocking him backward.
"Stay back!" shouted a white-haired young man, stepping forward. Beside him stood a Quagsire. "This Suicune belongs to the Blue and White Club. If you take another step, we will get serious!"
Ash coughed, blinking away the water. Around him stood a dozen or so other members of the Blue and White Club, forming a perimeter. They were here to make sure no one else interfered.
Ash scanned the area, calculating. Then, without a word, he disappeared into a patch of forest nearby.
Seconds later, someone else emerged from the trees—a young man no one recognized.
The stranger drew a Poké Ball from his belt and murmured under his breath, "Let's do this, Salamence."
A flash of red light lit up the forest as a four-legged, dragon-like Pokémon appeared. With a leap, the disguised Ash mounted the Salamence—which was, in fact, Mew using Transform—and soared into the sky.
"You're asking for trouble, kid!" one of the guards shouted. He and several others ordered their Pokémon to attack immediately.
Ash remained calm. "Use Hyper Beam."
Mew gathered energy in its mouth. With a mighty flap of its wings, it dodged several incoming attacks. Then it unleashed a devastating black beam—Hyper Beam enhanced by Mew's ability—across the field, striking the ground with explosive force. Most of the Pokémon and trainers scattered, overwhelmed by the sudden blast.
Ash didn't hesitate. He rode Mew straight into the battlefield.
Suicune, although injured, was now feral and furious. After taking the Flamethrower, its body glowed with icy rage. It roared and launched a Sheer Cold toward Charizard, striking it with overwhelming force. The mighty fire-type spiraled and crashed, barely conscious.
The trainers froze, stunned by the sudden reversal.
Ash's eyes lit up. Now's my chance.
He leapt from Mew's back, pulled a Poké Ball from his belt, and hurled it mid-air toward Suicune.
The trainers shouted in unison, ordering their Pokémon to intercept. They knew that Poké Ball throws were rarely successful in this situation—but one lucky catch could ruin everything.
"Hyper Beam, again!" Ash called.
Mew blasted another beam, forcing the Pokémon into defense mode. Ash, still in mid-air, hurled the Poké Ball...
But just before it made contact, Suicune let out a powerful, dissonant roar—a pulse of sound that echoed through the forest and rattled bones.
Ash's muscles froze mid-throw. The Poké Ball veered off course and hit the ground harmlessly.
"Master!" cried Mew, flying toward him. It canceled its attack and dove to catch Ash before he hit the ground.
Seconds later, Ash snapped out of the paralysis. "Suicune!" he gasped, eyes darting around.
But it was too late.
The Legendary Pokémon was already gone—racing through the forest, a shimmering blue blur that vanished into the trees to the north.
Ash clenched his teeth. He couldn't lose Suicune now.
"Mew, hold them back!"
He leapt into the air again—and mid-leap, transformed.
Ash's body shimmered and changed. Wings sprouted, scales appeared, and before anyone could fully process what they were seeing, he had become a Dragonite, flapping powerfully through the air in pursuit of Suicune.
Back below, the trainers and Blue and White Club members stood stunned.
"What... what the hell did I just see?"
"Was that guy a human? Or a Pokémon?!"
"How did a human turn into a Dragonite?!"
Their confusion didn't last long. Those with Flying Pokémon quickly gave chase, not wanting to miss the chance to capture Suicune. Others began ordering attacks toward the still-hovering Mew, hoping to clear a path.
Mew retaliated fiercely, launching beams, blasts, and psychic bursts to stall their pursuit. But it was a losing battle. For every person Mew stopped, another slipped past. The crowd of trainers, all dreaming of capturing a Legendary, surged forward.
Within seconds, several had already broken through the defensive line.
Ash, in Dragonite form, soared above the forest canopy, keeping Suicune in sight. The chase had only just begun.
And behind him—a storm of trainers followed.
