Chapter 40: Mastering Omnitrix, and the Missing Peter
"Inhale... Exhale..." Yang Le, transformed into Grey Matter, took a deep breath to calm his inner excitement. "Okay, let's try this."
Today is an extraordinary day. A month has passed since investigating The Hand with Gwen. It's October 15th, the day of Midtown High School's Homecoming. Gwen and her band are going to perform at tonight's Party.
That's right, the other Midtown Band competing with them is no match at all. Anyone who has seen Mary Jane's Band perform knows choosing them is inevitable.
But it's not just that. If it were only that, it wouldn't be enough to make Yang Le so excited that he needed to take deep breaths to calm down. Although Gwen happily picked him up and spun him around several times, it didn't make Yang Le happy at all.

Yang Le tremblingly took out the result from the Decoder, a Storage Device that looked like an ordinary USB drive. Inside, Azmuth's decoded Gene was stored.
"I didn't expect it to really succeed." Grey Matter's thin, sharp voice revealed a hint of madness, making him look like a mad scientist from a children's cartoon.
Yang Le used his tail to curl up the Storage Device, and scurried to the Cracking Machine that had been prepared long ago, using both hands and feet. He adjusted the data on the Operation Console, and then transformed back into a Human.
Yang Le unfastened the Omnitrix from his wrist, pulled out a Data Cable from the Cracking Machine, and connected it to the Omnitrix. Then he put down the Omnitrix and returned to the Operation Console.
Yang Le slowly picked up the Storage Device and solemnly said, "God bless, it must succeed."
After speaking, he inserted the Storage Device into the interface on the Cracking Machine, and then heavily pressed the Button.
"Beep beep beep!" Accompanied by the sound, the Cracking Machine started working. Streams of green Photons surged into the Omnitrix along the Data Cable.
As the Cracking Device operated, the Omnitrix began to transform. Yang Le, watching from the side, was sweating profusely, fearing that Azmuth had taken precautions and the Omnitrix would enter self-destruct mode, which would be a complete failure.
However, it was clear that although Azmuth was extremely intelligent, it was impossible for him to be completely comprehensive and calculate everything. If Azmuth were truly infallible, then Ben Tennyson wouldn't have been able to trigger so many bugs.
Finally, in Yang Le's surprised gaze, the Omnitrix revealed its Core, and the Watch Face also lit up with green light.
"User detected, Azmuth, Highest Authority holder."
The Voice Function of the Omnitrix sounded. After Yang Le became familiar with the operation of the Omnitrix, he hadn't heard this Sound for a long time. At this moment, this cold Electronic Voice sounded like heavenly music to Yang Le.

To be honest, it was sometimes startling as a Phone Ringtone, but Gwen was very happy when she found out, so he had kept using it.
"Gwen?" Yang Le took out his Mobile phone and glanced at the caller ID, then answered the Phone. "What's wrong, Gwen?"
"Habby, have you seen Peter? Is he with you?" Gwen's voice was a little anxious, and also revealed a hint of expectation.
"Peter? He's not with me. I'm at 'Bathtub' right now."
Bathtub is the code name for the Base, thought up by Yang Le. He felt that a Superhero's Base should have a Name, just like DC's Watchtower. This Name was something he came up with while taking a bath. Yang Le thought it was very cool and hidden, but Gwen had complained about this Name more than once.
Yang Le asked, "What happened to Peter?"
"Peter is missing." Gwen's tone was a little anxious. "Aunt May said Peter left Home early this morning, but it's already afternoon, and Aunt May and Uncle Ben have both come, but Peter still hasn't arrived, and his Phone can't be reached."
