...
We arrive safely in Gideon, the city of Duels. We each receive some Lir for our efforts and we part ways.
Two red panels appear before my eyes, telling me about my real-world needs.
I log off
...
I open my eyes, the sky outside has turned dark after a few hours, I'd been travelling and fighting for a day in game (12h), which equated to about four hours in real time.
I got out of the chair and went down, my body felt stronger than ever, I could feel all of my in-game abilities roiling beneath my skin, my left hand now had a tattoo, and when I focused on it a large scythe, my Kronos Regalia, appeared in my hands.
I make it dissipate soon after.
"DUTCH! BENNY! YOU OLD FARTS! GET OVER HERE, I HAVE A GIFT FOR YOU!"
The two old men stumble over, one very enraged, the other mildly angered.
"OI! You Brat! We can hear just fine without your shouting, OK?!"
"Regardless, old man, I have a gift for you both, and I want you both to start playing Infinite Dendrogram, and yes this is related to the gift... I have an ability that lets me keep my in-game power and transfer it to the real world, I can also bestow it to others, so there you have it."
Both burst out laughing at my words, but as they notice the serious expression on my face they go from amused to confused.
Benny speaks up, "C'mon kid, you can't be serious, right? There's no way that's true."
I summon Kronos Regalia, and they stare at if for a second. Benny passes out. Dutch just stands there, before laughing, this time in joy. "You got us good with that one kid, now were's the hologram projector" He starts looking around in search of it, but finds nothing before reaching out and touching the scythe, finding it to be real and face faltering, struggling to process the information.
... (After a discussion in which I partially divulge some information about the power)
"So kid, let me get this straight, a divine being showed up in your dreams the other day, bestowed this power on you, and then just left, without any further explanation???"
"Pretty much, yeah."
He holds his face in his hands as he sits down. Benny eventually returns to consciousness.
"Please tell me I was dreaming... By Dutch's reaction I assume that I wasn't, and that by some miracle this is actually true."
"Yep"
Benny sits down on another chair, opposite Dutch, but mimicking the same pose.
"Soo..." I begin to ask, "do you want your youth back, plus superpowers of course?"
Without a single second of delay "Yes!" in unison both men turn to me, "Of course we want youth you brat! That's something that every single person alive has always dreamed of, eternal youth, or at the very least an extended lifespan!"
"Great! Although unlike me, your appearances will change drastically, since I'm using one of my custom race's abilities to maintain my human form." (A/N: The Jaguar-man ability went a little further than normal in terms of use due to the boost)
"Alright! so I have a few suggestions for the characters that you should make, in terms of nickname, as well as species and jobs!"
...
As a result the deadly trio of "Rock Balor", "Capt. Gunner", and "Glitch #001" was formed.
Both Gunner and Glitch started out in Legendaria, the homeland of the fey, due to my suggestion in what job they should both get first, which is Vampire. Their characters look like slightly paler versions of their younger selves, with white hair, red eyes and, in Glitch's case a completely different outfit.
They got their first jobs (Vampire and Gunner/Engineer), farmed a few levels and started heading towards Gideon. (They get to about LV-10, putting 5 levels into each job)
Whilst they were doing that I was farming levels in the Nox plains for my new class (Gladiator) (after buying myself some better daggers, and a few consumables), an area between the mountain range and Gideon. A few tree golems would occasionally wander in, higher level enemies from the mountain range proper.
Whilst hunting down another Golem a large rumble can be heard from the mountain, I rush over to investigate and find a pair of players fighting the "Afforest King Golem" which they seem to be failing at, since the weakest version of this particular Boss class monster is level 51, and it's considered to be a Full- Dragon-class. These two players are only LV 21 and LV 19, whilst I am LV 16, as a result facing this thing would be a terrible idea.
Before my very eyes I watch their struggle, as they're barely able to keep up. I watch as the King golem becomes more and more enraged, a strange aura surrounding it, before a large shout echoes from a massive maw that opens in its chest. The aura disappears, the Plant Golem's above appearance becomes twisted and corrupted.
