When Joey realized the key to the Chimera Ant Extermination Operation wasn't the King—but Neferpitou—only 1 minute and 7 seconds had passed since the Hunters stormed the palace.
And at that moment, Joey understood his role fully.
He saw that the entire strategy of the assault force was wrong from the beginning.
But no one else knew.
If Neferpitou wasn't eliminated, all of their efforts could come to nothing.
Worse, the King's evolution might progress to terrifying levels—B+ or even A-class.
Chimera Ants that underwent ingestion-based breeding and were enhanced through Nen had their threat level capped at B by joint assessments from Nen users and ant specialists.
But there were three critical oversights in that judgment:
The King's Ability – his power to absorb Nen and abilities by consuming stronger beings, granting him infinite evolutionary potential.
Neferpitou's Presence – the strongest guard and a living resurrection machine, devoted completely to the King.
Nen Exorcism – the possibility of removing deadly curses or abilities via Exorcists, complicating attempts to eliminate the King permanently.
And now… all three pieces had gathered within the palace.
The King's absurd strength, Pitou's loyalty to the death, and an Ant capable of Nen Exorcism still hidden somewhere in the palace.
Of course, surpassing B-class wasn't so easy.
Maybe the other two Royal Guards were required.
Maybe the King would need to eat the Exorcist Ant to gain their power.
Still—Joey knew the possibility was real.
If Pitou survived, the King could evolve into a B+ or higher threat—a world-ending entity.
Which meant Joey had to stop it now—no matter what.
47 Seconds In
The King, riding atop Zeno Zoldyck's Dragon Drive, left the palace with Chairman Netero.
At the same time, Knuckle was spotted by Menthuthuyoupi, and Shoot was already critically wounded and bleeding out on the first floor.
Youpi's power had exceeded all of their expectations—Knuckle, Shoot, even Meleoron.
Originally, it was Shoot who was supposed to delay Youpi.
But when Dragon Dive struck, he had the misfortune of injuring his leg—forcing him to rely on flight.
Blackout Curtain (Hotel Rafflesia) – Shoot's Manipulator ability.
He controlled three floating hands that could attack from a distance.
If they landed a hit, they'd "steal" the struck body part and trap it in his caged portable hotel.
It didn't cause injury—but the affected part would vanish, leaving the victim vulnerable.
He flew by standing atop one of the floating hands.
But against Youpi, within 20 seconds, Shoot was already broken—his body battered, limbs crushed, and mind nearly blacking out.
If Killer Queen's Heart Attack hadn't once again grazed Youpi's attack and exploded, he might have died then and there.
Youpi briefly turned his attention to the persistent battle tank.
He pummeled it with raw power…
Only to be met with explosion after explosion.
No matter how hard he hit it, all it did was blow up—and barely crack.
Annoyed, Youpi concluded the tank was too durable to be worth the effort, and turned his sights back to Shoot.
That's when he noticed something strange—
A chubby little creature suddenly appeared on his lower back.
"Time's up! Interest calculation begins~!"
The small, round figure was Potclean—and atop its head, a number began to spin:
1232…
Youpi frowned. He didn't know what this thing was—but its sudden appearance told him he was under some kind of attack.
Was it the tank?
No—his beastly instincts rejected that idea.
He remembered Pitou once mentioned the tank had only explosive properties, not debuffing effects.
That meant—someone else was nearby, hidden, and had struck him with a strange Nen technique.
And then he noticed: Shoot was gone.
In his place stood Killua and Gon.
Palm and Ikalgo had evacuated Shoot.
Knuckle, aided by Meleoron's God's Accomplice, had vanished again.
Now the vanguard was Gon and Killua.
Unable to confirm the King's status, surrounded by constant threats, Youpi's rage skyrocketed.
He snapped.
His logic shattered beneath pure killing instinct and destruction.
Muscles ballooned.
Extra arms sprouted.
And with a wild roar, he smashed down with colossal fists—
BOOM!
The first floor collapsed, a crater forming beneath his punch.
But Gon and Killua had already withdrawn.
The moment his body began to swell, they'd backed off.
Even now, Heart Attack continued its slow, methodical approach.
BOOM!
Another explosion.
Youpi screamed:
"What the hell is this thing?! Stop—STOP ALREADY, DAMN IT!"
His entire Nen aura flared with frustration.
He grabbed Killer Queen's Tank, covered it in aura, and hurled it out of the palace, smashing through walls and flinging it who knows how far.
Then—his body twisted.
Mass mutated.
Fists grew too large for his frame.
He launched himself again—slamming down where Killua and Gon stood.
KRA-KOOM!
The palace trembled.
Stone crumbled.
And behind them, Gon and the others could feel the pure malice roaring from that monstrous aura—
The rage of a beast unchained.
But even in that madness, Youpi suddenly went calm.
He kept swinging wildly—outwardly berserk.
But inwardly, he made his move:
I'll feign rage. Pretend I've lost control. Keep smashing randomly.
That bastard who cursed me… must still be watching.
Let him think I'm vulnerable—and the moment he strikes again…
I'll crush him.
