`A Flashback of the previous night`
Elzan gets up from his bed in the middle of the night. He sneakily walks out of his room and goes to the kitchen. He opens the cabinet and takes some bread and biscuits. He packs him carefully with a bag. He then gets back to his room. He opens his closet and grabs a couple of clothes. He then lowers his knees to search under the bed. He grabs a money box he has been saving lately. He takes all the kons he has saved and puts them in a small bag and ties it. He also puts his penknife in the bag. After packing up all the necessary accessories, he opens the window to leave. He looks back one last time before finally jumping out.
He didn't go straight to the woods but to the West Village first. Of course, he went to the sheriff's house. He goes to the back door, and fortunately, the door is unlocked, and he notices that the lock is broken in the first place.
He slowly gets inside as he searches around with his eyes. He then sees the sheriff's shadow slightly from the corner of his eye. He swiftly hides behind another door. The sheriff sits at a dining table. He's holding several wanted posters as he goes through them. He seems to be stressed about it as he rubs his eyes frequently.
Soon enough, his wife called him. He rushes to her, leaving the wanted posters on the table. Now is the chance for Elzan. He quickly took a few of the wanted posters and left the house.
`End of flashback`
Elzan's grandma runs to the village mayor's residence. She calls out for help. The mayor and some villagers run for support. She then explained what had happened.
Man 1: "That boy Elzan has run away again? Sir Ashwil, what shall we do?"
(Ashwil is the mayor)
The mayor thinks for a while.
Mr Ashwil: "We'll see some men to look for him all around the village before the royal army gets him first…"
Gloria: "The royal army?!"
Man 2: We don't want to mention it, but just this morning, the royal army has spread a wanted letter of him…
Another man gave the letter to the grandma. The grandma takes the letter in terror as she reads the words written. It says,
"WENTED: ELZAN THE THEIF, REWARD: 500 Kons,
By the decree of King Kronox's Royal Army, we demand to report to the authority once the criminal is found. Any who aids the fugitive Elzan shall be punished by law."
Elzan's grandmother covers her mouth in distress. 500 kons? It is enough money for around 2 months.
Gloria: "…"
She remains silent as the villagers and the mayor watch in sorrow.
Mr Ashwil: "Do not worry, Miss Gloria, we'll make sure to find him as soon as possible."
He then signals with his finger to begin searching for Elzan. The rest nodded in understanding. Soon, a young girl's voice was interrupted.
???: WAIT! I would like to search for him too!
The eyes lay on the girl.
Mr. Ashwil: "Marina… Sweetheart… What's the matter?"
Marina: "Father… I would also like to go searching for Elzan… As a… childhood friend of Elzan, I also want to do as much as I can…"
The mayor looks at his daughter. She has grown, and he cannot deny the willing of hers. He thinks for a while before speaking…
Mr. Ashwil: "Very well dear, but… You must take Galson with you, alright?"
Marina: "Do not worry Father… They're already at the front…"
She points at the door. Rein is already there, and there's a young girl beside him.
Rein: "Greeting Sir Ashwil, I'm here for uh… Marina…"
Mr. Ashwil: "I see…"
He glares at Rein and then at the girl beside him.
Mr. Ashwil: "And this young lady is…?"
He points at the girl.
Rein: "Oh… This is my younger sister, Syla Galson."
Syla: "I suppose Sir Ashwil didn't recognize me…"
Syla smiles at the Mayor. The Mayor nods at his daughter in approval. She nods back at his father and hugs him before leaving with Rein and Syla.
In the meantime, among the trees, Elzan is wandering around, looking for clues or anything mysterious. As he passes by a river, he sits down to take a short rest.
He takes out some of the bread from his bag as he begins to eat it. When he reaches his hand to the river to get some water, he notices the water is forming circular swirls. He immediately realized that someone was coming. He quickly grabbed his things and hid behind a huge tree nearby.
