" He's gone. The dark witches took him".
For a moment, Lyra felt her whole world crumble. Gone? How could Morvan be gone? She had seen him a week ago to tell him she would be bringing Luc over and he seemed okay. But now, he....he had been taken by the dark witches.
Lyra's eye were as wide as saucers, the corner of her eyes glistening with tears. She looked at Hunter, clearly horrified. " When did this happen?".
Hunter looked at her as he carefully observed her expression. It seemed Lyra cared about his father alot. Thinking about his father, Hunter's 'Strong and brave guy' facade immediately broke. He slumped down and sobbed.
The only family he had left had been taken away by the dark witches. His mother had abandoned him when he was just a year old and his relatives....he didn't even know if he had any. All he had was his father. But now, even he was gone. He didn't even know if Morvan was still alive.
Logically, since they were dealing with the dark witches here, Hunter should've prepared himself for the worst. But he just couldn't accept his father was gone. And it was by a witch. He looked at Lyra with pure hatred.
" This is all your fault! If only you hadn't come into our lives, it would've been so much better. My father wouldn't be missing now. And it was you witches who took him! He's just but an old man! Can't you have an ounce of conscience to leave us alone?!"
" I only had him. But now...now, even he's gone!" Hunter yelled as tears streamed down his face. Seeing a man like this crying like a baby was indeed a pathetic sight. But no one could blame him.
Lyra stared at him speechless. Did he just say it was her fault? How was it her fault? It was those damn dark witches' fault. Plusots not like he's the only one who cares about Morvan.
" Are you being delusional?" Lyra subconsciously asked. Hunter looked at her with surprise but then it turned to a look of hate.
Lyra sighed. This wasn't the time to argue with this buffalo. She needed to find Morvan. He might be in danger. Sighing, she came to stand in front of the crying Hunter. " There's still a way to save him. But I'm going to need your hel-—"
" You're lying!"
Hunter smacked her outstretched hand away. She was probably going to use him, just like she had used his dad. But then, how could she not? She was a witch!
Lyra laughed coldly. " How odd. And here I was thinking you wanted to save him. As his son, shouldn't you take any chances you have to save him? I'm giving you one right now".
Hunter glared hard at Lyra. With a hateful glare, he said, " I know better than to trust a witch-—"
" It's not like you have a choice, Hunter! I know more about dark witches than you do! For goodness sake, I've even fought with them! I'm your only way to save Father Morvan! Can't you put aside your grudges for once in your life to save your father?!"
" Like you said, he's the only one you have left. We have a chance to save him. But I need you to cooperate with me! Please Hunter"
Hunter didn't say a word but just glared daggers at Lyra. Lyra couldn't understand this man. Shouldn't his father's life come first more than anything? But this guy was prioritizing his grudges over his father's life.
" Hunter please".
Hunter looked down at the floor, though still glaring. On the floor near him was a broken frame with Morvan's photograph in it. The man looked extremely happy in the photograph. Hunter wanted to see that again.
After a moment of contemplation, he asked ," And how exactly do you plan to save him?"
Lyra smiled but immediately his it when she saw Hunter's strict stare. She said while gesturing to Luc, " With him".
Luc who had been quiet throughout, jumped when he heard Lyra mention him. All eyes were on him right now. And to be honest, he was kind of afraid of the guy called Hunter. He seemed like a brute.
Luc looked at Lyra, " Me?" He asked. Lyra nodded. He was confused and nervous. He just felt like digging a hole and burying himself in it. How could he save someone from the dark witches? He was deathly afraid of those creatures.
Lyra saw his confused expression. Hunter also seemed somewhat lost. But she didn't bother explaining as the knock she had been waiting for was finally heard.
Hunter immediately put his guard up but Lyra excused him by saying " It's someone I invited". She went to open the door and outside stood a very beautiful girl.
She had auburn hair with dark brown eyes. Her skin was super fair and her lips were so red and full. Her hands and neck were slender and her face was so well shaped. She was a natural beauty, just like Lyra.
The girl smiled when she saw Lyra, " Lyra!" She hugged her immediately. Lyra wasn't a fan of hugs so she stood there awkwardly. After a while, the girl released her.
Lyra smiled a little as she greeted, " Diana". Diana smiled warmly when she heard Lyra call her name. " I'm glad you still remember me. So, um, you asked me to come here because of...."
Lyra nodded saying, " He's inside". Lyra led Diana inside. Diana saw Hunter who was looking at her questioningly and she blushed. Looking at Lyra shyly, she asks, " Is that him?"
Lyra looked at Hunter as she shook her head, no. He's also here to help. Hunter furrowed his brows but didn't refuse the statement. He wanted to hear how Luc could save his father.
Lyra gestured to Luc as she said, " This is Luc. He's the guy I told you about". Diana scanned him up and down. She thought, ' not bad'.
Smiling, she stretched her hand out for a handshake, " I'm Diana. You can just call me D". Luc nodded. He didn't bother introducing himself as Lyra had done so already.
Diana furrowed her brows when he shook her hand. ' That's weird'.
