Power System in the First Nightmare:
The Nightmare of the Hunters, where madness rules over all… from creatures to eldritch entities. The most terrifying truth beyond perception is the sight of the Great Ones in their true forms. To gaze upon the Great Ones as they truly are is to lose your sanity—and that is the essence of cosmic horror.
The power system in the Hunters' Nightmare is complex and is divided among factions, with the main one being the First Family, known as the "Cathedral of Kondeliza," led by the Faceless One. They utilize weapons drawn from Phantium Cards, ranked from the Ninth up to the First. Lenkaten and Klentyn both possess the Seventh rank. Elianora and Emilia possess the Sixth rank. As for German's mother and Ophelia, they possess the Third rank.
What distinguishes professional hunters of this family is the third card, which allows them to summon a soldier who fights alongside them.
Their presence alone brings with it a crushing pressure and a terrifying aura.
There are two other families, but they have been annihilated, so their combat styles remain unknown. Then there's the family of Stratdra, who have three holes in their heads from which they can produce a variety of weapons—not limited to just one.
As for the Dakronma family, they are a terrifying and dangerous source. They extract weapons from their heads in a bizarre manner, as if manipulating space-time itself. When they are near defeat, they tear open their eyes, and horns emerge. These horns are ranked from white (the lowest) to crimson black—the rank of the Lord.
One of the key features of these horns is that they allow for incredibly fast regeneration, as if you were never injured. If your head is severed but your horns remain intact, you will return to life after a minute or more.
Then there's the Cathedral of Nilkyrathen, who draw their weapons from nonexistence. They reach to their left, and the temporal images around them shift and open a rift, from which they can pull out any weapon they desire—according to the rank they hold. They also possess terrifying transformations.
You also have the beasts, such as werewolves, humanoid monsters, and others that are inhuman—beyond human comprehension—like Dmagadal.
Even the monsters have their own unique fighting methods. Magic is almost nonexistent in this nightmare because people are unable to learn the mathematics required. To learn magic, you must study complex mathematical equations with heavy geometric weight. Want to cast fire magic? You must solve an incredibly complex equation created by Cthulhu the Great, the one with octopus-like hands.
