"It's not about that," Sabrina termed the woman as a sassy, hard to please person but she just couldn't leave her in such situation. It was nearly passed noon, which meant there wasn't really much time when it would get late, "for now, you're literally stranded, and you are not with your handset and money.Let me take you home. Is that okay with you, ma'am?."
Bridget scoffed, "No, it's not." Sabrina's face turned sour at how childish she was, "But I don't have any choice. So, I will go with the plan." She added after a while, which made Sabrina's face to beam a smile.
"Good. Let's get going, shall we?."
She stood up and extended her hand to Bridget, who stared at it reluctantly before placing hers on top.
However, before she could stand up, she let out a cry of pain.
Sabrina's eyes circled in suprise as she held her, "What happened?."
"My ankle," Bridget held her red, swollen ankle, "I think I sprained it while trying to catch those thieves."
"Let me piggy back you then."
She looked at the beautiful petite woman infront of her with a judgemental expression, "You don't look like one that has strength, do you?."
"The looks doesn't matter, ma'am," Sabrina smiled at her, "trust me. I can carry you. It's getting late. We have to start going."
Bridget, with help from Sabrina, climbed on her back.
She asked her for the house address.
"Victoria paradise." Bridget answered.
"Victoria Paradise…never heard of it before. What's the house number?."
"I don't know." Embarrassment crept into Bridget's face.
"Don't worry. I'll ask your neighbours."
"Neighbours?," Bridget sounded suprise, "I don't have neighbours."
"Oh." Sabrina could only blink her eyes in awe. What kind of rich family was this woman from that she didn't even have neighbours? Or could she be in a way related to Elon Musk?
They both continued their journey.
Bridget stared at the side profile of Sabrina as sweats trickled down from her forehead to her chin, carrying her with no difficulty.
Her gentleness and persistence at first was what made her to accept her help.
Passers-by before Sabrina had come to help her, but they had been scared off by her unrelenting rantings and sassy responses.
Some young women even termed her as a bitter mad woman.
But Sabrina— despite the fact that she took her frustration out on her double, she still volunteered to help.
"How I wish my son married a girl like you." She said absentmindedly, which caused Sabrina to giggle and arch her brows.
"You don't like your daughter-in-law?." She questioned the beautiful sassy woman she was backing.
"No. The question supposed to be, 'Have you seen your daughter-in-law?'."
"Why?."
"My strong-headed son had married her without telling me. He didn't even show the girl to me!."
Sabrina felt uncomfortable. She too, married someone's son without the blessings and awareness of his parents.
She reasoned that Lexis' mom could be anywhere on this world, cursing her.
"There might be a possibility of you taking a liking in her,"She tried to dissipate Bridget's anger, "she might be a lovely woman."
"A lovely woman that bewitched my son into marrying her without seeking his parents' permission? Do you know why I'm bothered about it? Because the woman might turn out to be a gold digger. My son is super rich and handsome and irresponsible women would always try to take advantage of him!."
Sabrina swallowed, "Well—."
"And he didn't bother to tell me even after he married the woman. It was Emily, the poor girl that's crazily in love with him and whom I have in mind to marry him that told me. That poor baby, she has been in love with him for like forever."
Sabrina said nothing as she trekked.
What if Lexis had a fiancée?
What if Lexis was in a relationship before they got married? She visioned the heartbroken look on the fiancée's face.
The woman might be out there somewhere, her heartbroken, calling her a homewrecker after finding out that the man she was supposed to marry actually married another woman?
A SUV car suddenly halted right in front of them and a girl— who seemed to be nineteen jumped out of the car and raced towards them.
"Mom!." Sabrina swiftly dodged the brown-haired girl as she narrowed her eyes, "Who are you?." She questioned the girl, who just rolled her eyes.
"I'm supposed to ask you that. Why are you carrying my mom? What have you done to her?."
"Your mom?." She let go of Bridget, "Do you know her?." She asked Bridget, who nodded her head vigorously.
"She's Freya. She's my daughter."
Sabrina had misunderstood the young spoilt brat. It was no wonder.
She was as sharped tongued as her mother.
"Where have you been since? Do you know how hopeless and helpless I was? Did I give birth to you for no reason? You good-for-nothing human!." Bridget scolded Freya as she hit her back, hard.
Freya bit her lip, "I was looking for you,mom-."
"I'm sure you were." She cut her off.
Sabrina chuckled. It seemed the woman was not only sassy to outsiders, but her children as well.
Silently leaving the mother and daughter as they bickered, she walked away.

"Lexis, I just want to let you know that your darling wife isn't home yet and didn't make use of the car." George said, relaxing on the armchair in Lexis' office.
Lexis paused typing, "Where did she go?is she alright?."
"I don't know. The chauffeur called to let to know she didn't use the car, and she hasn't arrive home yet."
He brought out his phone to call her.
But her line was dead. He tried severally, but yet, to no avail.
George yawned, "Don't worry much. She might be out there chilling. I don't think she's in danger."
"I hope it's as you said."
"And there is one more thing I need to tell you."
Lexis closed his laptop, "Talk."
"It's about Maris." All forms of tease and play were replaced with seriousness, "One of our spies there said Maris knows about Sabrina, but for some odd reasons, hasn't made a move yet."
