Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Asher's First Secret

Under the conditions, it was midnight, the best time to look for evidence in Asher's car. Using only her cell phone flashlight to search the dark garage, Serena pressed the car alarm button then entered the car while looking around her. Actually, she was worried that Asher would come to her suddenly because of what happened this afternoon.

Serena, using gloves, opened the undamaged car dashboard drawer. When she opened the drawer, she didn't find many important things. It only contained a tissue box and a notebook. She felt it was a waste of time to carry out her mission at night. It would be better if fifteen minutes were wasted to complete the proposal.

However, there was one thing that still bothered her. When she took the small notebook and opened the pages one by one, her heart almost broke as she read the contents of the note. This was what she had been doing all this time. Asher recorded all her movements at all times and even Serena didn't expect Asher to follow her all this time like a stalker. Her hands started to shake as she photographed all the movement records one by one. One day she will report this to Orlando to help her.

Serena immediately left the car nimbly, then ran into the living room. Suddenly her shoulder was touched from behind making her almost faint. Luckily he had put the car keys in their original place and taken off her gloves.

"What are you doing?" Asher asked.

"I just want to drink." Serena had difficulty swallowing her saliva.

"Really? Want to drink until your face is sweaty? You look like you've been running." Asher flipped on the living room switch. "Why don't you turn on the lights anyway?"

"Because I didn't want to wake you."

Asher folded his arms. "Your attitude is indeed very strange."

Serena walked quickly up the stairs. She tried to avoid her fiancé after reading most of the notebook. She began to believe Orlando's words that Asher was a stalker and had been following Lariette secretly. If Asher was a real stalker, she didn't want to be Asher's wife forever.

She entered her room then squatted weakly in front of the door. Imagining what Lariette has experienced all this time, she will live in pain too. Lariette loves Asher sincerely, but Asher never takes her seriously.

Now all she could do was pour out her heart to Zerash. Maybe Zerash can provide input regarding the problems he is facing now. Even though she didn't know Zerash directly in the real world, she could only trust him because the input Zerash gave her was always useful.

"Zerash, are you asleep?"

Serena was confused about what Zerash was doing at the moment and didn't reply to her message. Usually Zerash always replies quickly. She felt like she wanted to cry in front of Zerash and vent the anger she had been holding in all day until her chest was tight.

When she decided wanted to sleep, Zerash replied to her message. Serena immediately took her cell phone and sat up straight on the bed. Just reading this short message made her smile again.

"Sorry, I was busy working today until I fell asleep earlier."

Serena shook her head while replying to the message. "Sorry, I won't bother you."

"It's okay. Besides, you definitely need me right now since it looks like you're in trouble judging by the way you greeted me."

"Actually, I'm confused about what my fiance is thinking today. Then, I was also bullied by my colleagues at the office."

"What's wrong with your fiancé?"

"Today she disappointed me a little. Do you think it's normal for a man to follow his woman all the time?"

"Didn't the man do it for his woman's safety?"

"Is that really true? I found a notebook hidden by my fiancé in the dashboard drawer of the car. The contents of the notebook were that he recorded my movements throughout the day and he even recorded the time."

"You're going to report it to the police?"

"Yes, because it can be concluded that he is a stalker."

"But, can you look in more detail at the time it was recorded? Because if the incident was very long ago, it can't be used as evidence."

"If I saw it a few months ago and a year ago, that means I can't report it directly?"

"You have to look for other evidence that proves he is a criminal."

"Then, what evidence should I look for that proves he is a stalker?"

"Maybe you have to infiltrate his room and study. Or use the previous method I gave you. You have to win his heart so that he will open up to you."

It's true what Zerash said. If she did it slowly, then Asher would tell her the truth without her realizing it. She was determined not to act recklessly until her secret mission was successful.

As a result of her working too hard and carrying out secret missions until midnight, her eyes were a little puffy when she went to work. Again, she was accompanied by Asher, even though she was still uncomfortable considering that the contents of the notebook were still stored in the car's dashboard drawer.

"What exactly did you do all night?" Asher asked curtly.

"I'm busy making a proposal. Tomorrow I have to present it to Barbara."

"Why don't you continue today? Why do you always force yourself?"

Serena folded her arms. "I've always been curious about you. Have you been interested in me from the start? Have you ever thought about following me? I mean when I was in danger, you followed me?"

"Yes, I will follow you wherever you go."

"Are you a stalker?"

"Can you differentiate between a stalker and a bodyguard? Even though bodyguards always follow their masters wherever they go."

"Did you do the same to Lariette?"

"Why are you suddenly testing me? Don't you trust me?"

Serena shook her head while kissing his cheek. "I actually trust you because you are my savior."

Arriving at the elite office building, Serena walked into the marketing division's workroom. When she wanted to approach her seat, everyone gathered there greeted her with sharp gazes.

"Serena, is it true that you plagiarized Lisa's work?"
