The group of anonymous guests actually consisted of a dozen people however only three stood up to be introduced.This alone showed how important these guys were to be allowed on be allowed to sit on a special chair that was a bit closer to the stage than the audience.
The host immediately introduced them and what the crowd recieved shocked them.
"These three respectable elders are the representatives of the 3 mech academies located on planet Aurora.They are here to select talents for their school.On the far side of our left is the vice principal of Azure Star Academy,then comes the vice principal of the Golden Star Academy in the middle and the last on our far right being in person the Grand elder of the Dazzling Star Academy".
The crowd grew excited as they heard the names of the schools.These were the real mech academies that had generations upon generations of foundations on planet Aurora in nurturing mech pilots as other mech academies only had little foundations and were at risks of collapsing.
These schools were naturally not in Steve's town and were actually located at the capital town of planet Aurora which was Metromoldia.His town was ranked second due to it possessing the exploration realm that was being governed by his father.
The host continued as he asked the three guest if they had any thing to say to the crowd before the real ceremony officially began since he didn't want to waste their time.They guest unsurprisingly had nothing to say and thus concluded the introduction sitting with a nod to the host.
The host soon called a man who was dressed in a lab coat and said he was the one to do the testing.The guy in person unveiled the structure to show something that still looked like a pod when it was first brought in.He introduced the machine and said it was an Awakening pod and was what wa going to be used to test ones talent.
This immediately explained this pod radiated an aura that was special previously.With a quick movement of hands,he set up the structure and was ready to begin.He gestured towards the host who announced that the awakening had officially began.
He called out the first persons name who was surprisingly a girl,called Lily Renoa who if Steve remembered correctly,was the commander of this town's enforcement hall which consisted of enforcement soldiers.The girl looked nervous as she went onto the stage but the lab man comforted her before letting her stand in the pod.She stood seconds before she came out and a screen that was displayed above showed three lines of statistics.

Then the crowd exclaimed.Resonance potential was the way Solar humanity measured talents.They use these awakening pods that operated on complex algorithms to check ones affinity towards origin energy which was the energy they cultivated and the genotype to determine a persons potential in mech piloting.
Any person whose resonance potential was below 60% was an impotent,disqualified and couldn't grow to become a mech pilot.It wasn't that they couldn't but the human body was most at times genuinely too weak and letting those whose resonance potential were below the demarcated level to pilot mechs would only cause fatal problems,inefficient piloting and other factors that made it unnecessary.
Across the whole human occupied space in the galaxy,The amount of people who could pilot mechs were just about 4.3%.To a lot of people,4.3% should be considered a small quantity but considering the astonishing quantity of people spread across the billions of stars and galaxies occupied by humanity,this little accumulated into a terrifying amount of people.
Still reality couldn't be sidelined,a massive amount of people which constituted to the other 95.7 % were always unable to pilot mechs.Only those advanced clans provided a lot of resources that could help boost the amount of members who could become pilots,but this was still an insignificant proposal in the bigger picture of things considering the terrifying amount of resources used up by those clans.
Considering her possessing the ability to pilot mechs as the first subject while originating from such a low level planet like theirs was rare.The girl in person was given 3 papers which Steve thought contained an application letter from the 3 respective schools.These schools always knew planet Aurora had a low tendency to produce talents so they naturally jumped onto any opportunities.
After the girl recieved the documents,her parents joined her and they were sent to a private room backstage to fill in her forms.The second person went on stage with much more enthusiasm as he gained a bit of hope brought up by the previous subject who tested and got a positive result.However reality brought out the bigguns that made the boy shy away with tears falling from his eyes.

The boy ran to his parents with a sad expression who pampered him,promising that he could still make a difference in the world without needing to follow the mech piloting career.The boy soon recovered and went to sit back with his parents as he couldn't become a pilot and wouldn't need to sig any documents.
Thd host broke the hall of silence as called the next person as if he had actually seen this happen for countless times.The next person whose name was measured went on stage with a nervous expression written all over his face as he walked jerkingly to the platform on stage.
Steve remained oblivious to this as he began to think of what just unfolded after the girls test.He clearly remembered that the girl who tested first had a bloodline quality of 33 still gained the ability to pilot mechs whereas the boy who came afterward had a bloodline quality of 43 which was a whole order above the girl but actually couldn't pilot mechs.
Fear immediately began to set in as he thought of all what happened and the significance of it.Although he didn't make any reaction,his parents felt the tension building up in him and reassured him.
"Don't compare yourself to them.You are this planets exploration realm masters son so why the need to fear.What would they say about me when they here I can't produce an offspring with significant talent",his father said as he reassured him.
"Besides,have you forgotten the level you have reached in your cultivation.These little children can't be compared to wonderful genius.Please drop this tension and just rest assured,everything will naturally be fine",Fredrica said as she joined in.
Steve soon regained his confidence as he waited for his turn.As his parents had said,he had recieved his fair sure of treasures from his parents that put him a notch above his peers.His guidance cultivation had also already reached peak of level 9 and this had almost guaranteed his ability to pilot mechs a step above his peers.
He dropped those thoughts as he watched what continued to unfold on the stage and what he saw made his confidence deflate.Upon the ten people who had tested,there was still only one person who passed the test and that was the first girl per the skematics that showed on the side of the screen.
When the second batch finished which consisted of ten people,again only one person had a positive result and it was surprisingly Daniel.He had a bloodline quality of 47 and a resonance potential of 69% whiles his cultivation technique had reached a level of 8 which was considered from the expressions of the three vice principals as they sat on the forefront with smiles plastered on their faces.
Daniel turned around and gave the crowd a thumbs up but Steve knew it was being directed towards him which signaled that Daniel had completed his part of the bet they had made.The bet proposed was to awaken their mech piloting
abilities and grow into respectable mech pilots.This was phase one of it and Daniel had competed his thus the thumbs up.
Daniel walked off the stage with smiles as he met his parents and moved to another private room with his 3 documents in his hands.After Steve watched Daniel as he disappeared backstage the ceremony continued names were mentioned followed with cry of pains and those of joy.Steve waited until his turn before he moved onto the stage.
"Good luck my boy and remember to return with flying colours",his mother said before pushing him off.
When he reached the stage,he directly entered the awakening pod without waiting.The labman gave him a nod before activating the pod.Steve felt some energy directly passing through him without any obvious chanel and disappearing in seconds before he saw a projection appear before him.
