Chapter 37 - Sibling wars

Roonie cut the call and rubbed his forehead.

He wasn't really interested in the Forsyx guys, but after that snooty bitch, even that bastard big brother was also interested in the same dude.

Though his brother didn't directly threaten him, his intentions were the same as the second sister's.

He leaned back on the sofa and opened the Apex forum. It was something he used to check now and then to learn a bit about the game, but nothing too deep.

As he switched from the global to the local region, the next moment, he saw tons of feeds on this Birdy.

The first post had a video titled, "Forsyx the Birdmen." Intrigued, he clicked on it.

[Hello, everyone. I am….]

He skipped past the introduction and jumped straight to the action. There, he saw a man covered in red blood from head to toe, jumping around two behemoths.

"They look like boss monsters? But how are there two boss monsters in the village?" Despite his confusion, Roonie continued watching the video.

Even though Roonie hadn't joined the game, he was familiar with most of the common stuff.

With everyone around him constantly yapping about the game, it was only natural he'd know at least that much.

He kept staring at the single player toying with the massive beasts. Even he found it mesmerizing.

It was different from the videos he'd seen, where players just launched magic and skills to kill beasts.

On the other hand, this guy only used that bird transformation—nothing else.

He watched as the guy pulled the snake's eyes out and jumped onto a tree.

The next moment, he stared at the screen with wide eyes. "What the hell?"

He recognized the guy. It was that same guild master who came to him yesterday.

But how the hell did that guy, a powerful guild master, become a new player?

A lot of questions hit him at once, but as he saw the dude wiping the badge, he started smiling.

"Haha, so that's why they know. Haha, this cheeky bastard is crazy."

Roonie switched to the second video that showed the fight from another angle. The way this guy laughed while tearing open the snake's mouth—fck, even he found it badass.

He shook his head and switched to the third video. Like a kid who had just found a new toy, he started going through all the videos multiple times.

Sometimes he smiled at the craziness. Other times, his jaw dropped at the action.

Especially how the dude handled the knife—it was like he was playing with a toy.

After going through all the action clips, Roonie finally went to some of the analysis videos, where some dork tried to explain how those skills worked.

Even those guys were full of "maybes" and "it could be." No one was really sure what kind of skill this Birdy was using.

The scene with the guild master flashed through his mind.

He remembered it was something to do with old guild resources.

He had thought of the guild master as just another idiot looking for an easy way out. But damn, he never expected that guild master to be this strong.

Roonie played the first video again, shaking his head.

'No, I can't let others have him. Maybe this guy is the key I was looking for.'

For the first time in a long while, Roonie felt excited. But he knew—it would be difficult to keep this guy under him.

There was a high chance those two would try to rope in this talent again.

Roonie clenched his fist, thinking about those guys. His Kiyon guild wasn't always this bad. He had talented players, too. It's just—those bastards got roped in by his siblings.

What was more frustrating was that those guys leaked all the important details about his guild to his sibling. Especially the second sister.

She stole away a lot of big quests from the Kiyon in this past year.

He shook his head.

After seeing all these videos, he understood at least one thing—this Birdy guy had way more potential than the ones who had left him.

That explained why those two were calling him this late. After all, they would do anything to mess with his guild's progress.

He rubbed his forehead.

At that moment, a guard knocked on the door and entered.

The guard bowed and said, "Boss, Zack will be here in an hour."

Roonie nodded and said, "Call Lati Firm and tell that woman to come herself. I want her to create the special contract form."

The guard nodded. "Sir, we also found some info about Forsyx."

Roonie waved his hand. "I already know about him."

The guard nodded and asked, "Zack has his number. Should we call him here too?"

Roonie stared at the video and shook his head. "Nah. Just prepare a new set of clothes. I'll go meet him at the dorm myself."

The guard raised an eyebrow but just nodded and walked out. "Okay, sir."

Roonie focused back on the video while mentally calculating what kind of contract he should offer—one his siblings couldn't counter.

He grabbed his head because his funds were limited.

If it were someone from outside, he could threaten them to stay away, but he couldn't do the same with his siblings.

It would be hard, but Roonie had decided to go all out this time. He could sense this might be his last opportunity—and he couldn't just let it slip.

With that in mind, he started mentally noting down how much he could offer.

The hidden successor war, which had cooled down in the Cobra family, flared up once again—because of one single new player.

The only bystander who had almost given up on competing saw new hope and decided to fight back.

The sparks were already there. Now, it was only a matter of time before they turned into a full-blown fire.

And knowingly or unknowingly, Veyne was the one who started it.

Unaware of the mess he caused, Veyne enjoyed his dreamland while the situation forced the bystanders into a sleepless night.

Srrrr srrrrrr.
