Chapter 33 - The end of special task

The four of them stood before the old butcher as he examined Hibiki's eyes.

The next moment, they heard the familiar notification.

Ding!

[You have completed the Special Butcher Quest. All surviving players will receive the system reward.]

Ding

[You received 50 silver coins.]

[You received 2 low bronze butcher knives.

(Note: Those who failed the task will have to compensate for the weapon loss.)]

[You have received 3 Master Butchering Skill Tokens.]

[You have received the Special Reward: Unique Grade Template.]

Ding!

[Template detected. Storing automatically in one of the empty slots.]

Well, the distribution of the reward was much simpler.

There were 2 golds, of which he got 50 silver, and then out of 20 items, he received 2 weapons and 3 skill tokens.

It was fascinating to get a reward in such a straightforward manner.

Too bad he wasn't able to view the Dire Wolf template's stat distribution.

It looked like he'd have to wait for the monster awakening cycle for that.

It was already clear to him now that he would use the Dire Wolf and Rabbit during the monster awakening cycle, as he didn't want to take risks with either the Snake or Peplier Bird.

As for the fish—well, it was the worst possible template for the cycle. He was not even sure if he could survive without water in his fish form.

He shook his head and stopped thinking about the cycle for now and focused on what was in front of him.

This time, before any of them could speak, the old butcher himself said, "Young warrior, you must be tired after completing my special task, but there are still a few tasks that require your attention. Do you want to help me with them?"

Well, it looked like they were back in the normal chain quest sequence.

To be honest, before that last fight, he might have continued with the chain quest—but now, he just didn't have the energy.

Also, he already got what he came for.

So he shook his head. "No, that's it for me, sir."

At the same time, Cion also shook his head. "I'm sorry, sir, but I don't have much energy left."

Both of them looked at each other but said nothing.

On the other hand, Lucami and Rodium both nodded their heads.

"I'd like to help you as much as possible, sir."

"I'm here to help you, sir."

The old man frowned at him and Cion for a moment, but as soon as Lucami and Rodium accepted the task, he burst into laughter. "Haha! Good to see young warriors still full of energy…"

The old man started rambling about this and that, but Forsyx noticed that those two were just looking straight ahead, likely at the quest window.

Forsyx just shook his head and started walking out, with Cion behind him.

The moment both of them stepped out, Cion asked, "Oh—why did you reject the task?"

Forsyx sighed, "Nothing, just... I'm too tired to continue. What about you? Are you planning to leave the village?"

Cion looked at him for a moment and sighed. "Yeah. You know I don't want to take too many risks with the stuff I have."

Forsyx nodded.

He understood the value of the boss's monster egg. If not for his lab, he would have done the same. "Excellent decision."

Cion nodded. He was about to walk out, but then stopped and said, "Be careful of those three. With how strong they are, I don't think they're normal players at all. They must have huge backing."

Forsyx smiled, "Haha, you don't have to worry about me. By the way, send those rewards to the Kiyon Guild—not the main one."

Cion nodded to him one last time and then walked out of the market.

Forsyx was about to log out when he heard footsteps behind him.

He saw both Lucami and Rodium walking out together.

He smiled at them and said, "Congratulations. You guys are number one and number two in the chain quest now."

Rodium just scratched his head and nodded. "Thanks... I guess."

Even Lucami smiled at him.

He stared at her for a moment and asked, "You know, I still don't understand why you didn't kill them."

Lucami just smiled at him and replied, "I wasn't the only one who didn't take action, right?"

Forsyx rolled his eyes. "Oh, come on. In your current state, going against you would've been nothing more than suicide."

Rodium paused there, looking back and forth with a dumbfounded expression. "You guys... I'm also here... sigh; forget it." Even he looked at Lucami and said, "Well, to be true, if I were you, I might've killed everyone."

Forsyx started laughing. "Haha, so you wanted to die by her hand?"

Rodium shook his head in a calm tone. "Haha, nay. Too bad I'm not into that stuff. But forget about the killing—I've got something important to say."

Both Lucima and Forsyx raised their eyebrows.

Then Rodium took out a card from his inventory and said, "Here. This is my Ice and Fire Machinery team that my friend and I are going to make. In the future, if you guys need any help, feel free to contact me."

Forsyx stared at the card with interest. "Damn. Self-promoting."

Rodium scratched his chin.

Even this serious guy had this shameless side to him.

At that time, even Lucami spoke in a low tone, "Ah... actually, I didn't want to offend anyone there. That's why I just stayed on the side and did nothing."

Both Forsyx and Rodium looked at her with wide eyes.

Forsyx couldn't believe his ears. "Wait. Did you just say you didn't want to offend anybody? Are you for real?"

Even Rodium slapped his forehead. "Heck, all this time, I was most wary of you. The way you were acting, I thought you were part of some enormous group."

Lucami shook her head and even bowed. "Oh—sorry. That was never my intention."

Forsyx just stared at her. He thought for sure she was acting. So he asked, "And why do you care about offending us or not?"

She looked down for a moment and then tapped the badge on her chest.

As he focused on it, he saw that it was just... a bunch of rabbits eating carrots.

Lucami said, "I love playing this game with my family. We even have a family guild. I just don't want others to target them because of me."
