Alex said, "Oh, by the way, Veyne. Your guild members and your girlfriend both came to class again."
Veyne didn't even react. He just focused on the food and asked, "Oh? What were they doing there?"
Alex scratched his head. "Just asking if you're back at the dorm or not. Don't worry, I didn't say anything to them."
Veyne smiled and nodded. "Thanks."
Alex waved his hand. "Oh, no need to thank me for just that. By the way, is everything all right with you guys? They looked super angry, you know."
Veyne just drank the side soup and said, "Nothing much. We just closed the guild, that's all."
"What!"
Alex jumped to his feet. He looked at him and asked, "But why? I heard you guys were going strong."
Veyne glanced at Alex and asked in amusement, "And who told you that lie?"
Alex stood there, stumped. After a second or two, he said, "Dude, you don't know? Everyone in our class was saying the same thing. I mean, there are a few jealous guys, but almost everyone follows your guild activity. After watching your guild, some of those geeky guys even started playing the game on their own. You are sort of a role model for them."
Markus chimed in. "Hey, don't forget to add your name to the geek list. Veyne, you know Alex also—"
Alex jumped on Markus and covered his face. "Marky, you little rat, shut your trap!"
Veyne raised his eyebrows at all this and looked at Henry.
Henry shook his head and said, "Both Alex and Markus have those headsets. So, I do believe they wanted to ask you for tips about that game."
"Henry—"
"Henry, you bitch."
Both of them shouted at Henry at the same time.
Veyne couldn't help but smile at this.
He didn't care about his classmates. He already knew a couple of them followed his progress.
It was the same in his past life. They didn't follow him out of compassion but more out of jealousy.
He remembered how many of them started taunting him when he failed to run his second guild in his last life.
They were just people who enjoyed others' misery. Too bad—they wouldn't have much fun this time.
Though he wasn't sure if his dorm mates were among them.
Well, in his past life, he never really spent much time in the dorm to begin with. The only time he stayed there was during exam season, so maybe that's why he never noticed.
Still, it was fun to see others embarrassed about the game.
Well, in a year or two, things were going to be the complete opposite.
By then, not playing the game would embarrass people, and spending days in it would be considered cool.
Now that he knew the direction society was heading, it would be kind of interesting to enjoy the shift, from both an insider and outsider's perspective.
Veyne stuffed the last bit of gravy into his mouth and asked, "Oh, so both of you guys are playing the game now? What's your character level?"
The two of them stopped clutching Henry and looked at each other.
Alex was the first to speak. "Ah, it's nothing much. I just started playing, so my progress is a bit slow. I'm at level 36."
Henry said from inside the headlock, "Three months."
Alex tightened his grip. "Damn, Marky, get me a pillow. Let's suffocate this tension today."
Veyne ignored their antics and nodded. "Well, it's kind of slow, but as long as you prep well for level 50, everything's good."
Alex stopped choking Henry and asked with enthusiasm, "Oh, I thought the same! That's why I'm more focused on getting excellent skills."
Veyne nodded. "By the way, what's your class?"
This time, Alex puffed his chest a bit and said, "Oh, I'm a spear warrior."
Veyne thought for a moment and said, "Spear warrior is a great close-to-mid-range class. You could learn some throwing skills too—it'd give you a useful long-range option."
Alex thought for a moment and asked, "Oh, you mean using throwing skills to throw spears?"
Veyne nodded. "It's not a great option, but it could come in handy during emergencies."
Alex slapped his forehead. "Damn, I never thought about that." He looked up with stars in his eyes. "Is there anything else?"
Veyne tapped on the table for a moment.
There were a few things he knew from his past life that could help Alex. But the day he got his second chance, he promised himself he'd only use his future knowledge for himself.
There was and never would be any exception.
So he didn't even think about that stuff and just focused on normal tips experienced players would know.
After some thought, he said, "Yeah. Just focus on mastering your main spear skill as much as possible. With a low spear skill, you'll only get decent results at best."
Alex mumbled, "Ah, even you're saying the same thing as my guild master. Training the spear skills is boring. Isn't there anything else I could do?"
Veyne smiled and said, "Well, this guild master of yours really sees potential in you. You should listen to them."
The info he just gave was one of the most basic ones, but it was the thing that separated an excellent player from a pro.
After all, the fundamental skill didn't have a concept of levels. It was more about how familiar you were with it.
Even his template-shift skill was just a basic form-change skill. But after training it for so long in his last life, he developed that special dynamic switch.
The ability to change from one form to another mid-combat.
Just developing that single method turned the Template Wilder class from a slow, gathering-type class into a solid, close-combat-heavy class.
Markus started jumping at this moment. "Now it's my turn!"
Veyne smiled and gave a tip or two to Markus.
Even though they were just the bare basics, both guys were content with it.
Well, he felt like one of those billionaires who could say anything, and a crowd of clueless people would treat it like some sacred mantra.
Someone said it right—the actual power behind the words comes from the person who's speaking them.
