Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: The Truth About Father's Death

"I guess that was the reason," Seraphina replied.

"That was why she asked us to retreat to the kingdom to honor Father's death and even sped up his burial," I explained carefully and Seraphina nodded.

"She must have loved the Alpha dearly and has been living in remorse ever since the unfortunate incident happened."

"Well, I hope she prays for forgiveness before she gets punished. I will take a nap, Seraphina; any matters can wait." I said as I turned to the side gently, enduring the pain in my stomach.

"Sleep well, your majesty." She said as she covered me with the blanket and then walked out.

"Look me in the eyes and tell me it's not true, Mother!"

Alistair shouted for the second time. I was enveloped in guilt and remorse, my thoughts clouded.

"You've always been the one to talk, what's happening now? Why are you so quiet?"

I raised my head and looked at him, he was in the cell opposite me, banging and pulling the bars.
