AT THE SAME TIME
ISABELLA'S POINT OF VIEW:
The air in the room shifted ever so slightly. Lucien's gaze drifted toward Vanessa, standing silently off the side, her posture tense. Her arms were crossed tightly against her chest, and the way her eyes flickered from Rosalie to Lucien, then to the floor, wasn't lost on me.
I couldn't help but notice the tension building in her. Something about the way she was reacting didn't seem right. Vanessa's lips pressed into a thin line before she finally spoke, her voice soft but sharp.
"So, you're the one who abandoned her."She repeated.
Lucien's eyes flickered toward her. I saw his smile, just a slight twitch of amusement. He was unfazed by her icy tone, his posture relaxed.
"I never abandoned her. I was overwritten. The system pulled me out. I had no control." His gaze flickered back to Rosalie. "But that was then," Lucien repeated the same stuff once again.
