As Soren worked on Xavier, the heavy air thickened, and time seemed to slow around us. Every movement felt deliberate, filled with unspoken tension. I could feel Vanessa's discomfort, her hand still pressed to her forehead, and it was clear she was barely holding on. But the moment Soren's voice cut through the silence, I felt a chill run down my spine.
"Vanessa..." Soren spoke softly, as if hesitant but certain. He glanced at her, his usual calm demeanor slipping into something more vulnerable. "I've always liked you."
Vanessa blinked, confused, and her gaze flickered toward him, her brows furrowed in disbelief.
"What do you mean? Now?" She asked, her voice strained from the headache.
Soren met her eyes, his expression earnest but with a hint of nervousness.
"I've known you for a while now. And it's not just... in this life, but from before. I've always felt something-"Soren started.
