Chapter 66 - chapter 65

Hou spoke into Juniors limp body, now only serving by muscle memory taking control of his heart and breathing. Even though Junior had left his body, with the souls connection, Junior could still hear him theoretically.

"Junior listen to me, I'm sorry for what's happened to you, but everything is going to be fine...just different. Listen to me, your soul generates wills, can you sense them. Just thinking to do something should create them, try now."

Without delay, Junior answered,

"I can, what now"

"Now think of what you want to do and your soul will create the wills you need. So try to stand up, you will need to make sure to put wills in all the right areas for all you need to do. Just 'stand up' won't do"

Junior could think with such perfectly clarity, multitasking multiple thoughts. Junior felt unstoppable, it was like he was being restricted before.

'The flesh was a trap, this is truly me...'

This was a benefit of resonance, you could think with perfect clarity and split attention, wills were no longer needed to think. In resonance, you do not think with the body but with the consciousness, you can unlock your true self.

Instantly, Junior did what he needed to control his body. There was a slight delay from transferring the will to action, but with Junior's quick thinking he could compensate for it. He moved towards the window, disregarding everything else, he put on a wide smile.

All the senses from his body came to him and he could process them. He looked outside the window into the day, the bright sun and shining golden wheat outside the city.

'Perfect.... let's test this'

"I figured it out Uncle Hou... Don't apologise, I feel better than ever!" Junior did not turn to Hou, he still had a creepy smile.

Hou was shocked with the rapid progress, even more so than him. He took only a few moments to moved while Hou took much much longer. but he quickly shook it off focusing on more important things,

"No, I still apologise but it seems you're fine.... Let's do a little magic learning before you go home today."

"Sounds fine with me" Junior turned his head to Hou, with perfect efficiency, no wasted movements.

"So around us in a separate world is mana, think of it as an alternative to 'space'. Mages use mana and accommodate it, using it to manipulate laws. The thing mages do is bring that mana into specific circles which allows mana to be stored and used easily in the astral worlds. I'm going to form you a circle with my mana, all you need to do is accept it, then we can really start doing magic, enchantment and witchcraft."

"Sounds fine with me, do it"

Hou put his hand on Junior's back and closed his eyes. He astral projected and looked into Junior's Etheric body, now completely blank. He made a complication formation of mana and laws which was a mages first circle.

Each circle would be different, they can all help store mana but some circles are better at helping create different laws.

After an hour, the circle was finished and Junior observed himself. He sensed the circle was absorbing mana and laughed inwardly.

'even easier than before'

Before Hou could teach him any ways to manipulate laws, Junior started activating a magic. In the astral world he exited his soul again. Resonance caused all the laws to react but this time he could do something about it.

Using his resonance and mana he saw paths and pushed his mana into it. He knew exactly what he needed to do.

On the outside, Hou saw Junior pause and then the ground shook. Just like when Junior first activated resonance, the world was trying to assimilate him, but shortly before Hou acted it stopped!

Junior started to stick out his hands and a fire grew from the air. This fire quickly became condensed and larger than a 1st circle mage should be able to do.

Junior knew all the laws and how to manipulate them, additionally with resonance he could do it even easier. With resonance his consciousness acted like an ultimate law, influences others at no cost to him

Hou saw Junior constantly grow and compress a fireball, in his hand a small orb the size of a pebble floated.

He was too scared that if he distracted Junior, he might accidentally kill himself, so he stood out the way and observed.

'This is way too good, it's like I'm watching a professional, like when I saw Araxis for the first time!'

Junior took the pebble of fire and leant out the window. Looking far into he distance he locked into the mountain range surrounding them. With a simple flick the fireball was launched, it flew through the air, the wind seeming to help it.

It was like the whole world was bending to help Junior's vision. The fire ball sped up and crashed into the mountain. It's compressed power was unleashed, the rocks first being cracked and then melted. The mountain range started to collapse init molten rock, glowing a bright orange.

Then the fireball was finished, showing massive destructive properties. As a beginner mage, Junior had destroyed a mountain, melting it into lava!

Hou quickly acted, teleporting into the sky. He looked down at the lava glowing down and created water to cool it, then he used a barrier to stop the lava moving.

Once the lava had cooled back to stone, Hou let out a sigh of relief. He then calmly used his mountain spirit will, recreating the mountain.

Hou had used much of his qi doing this, since he was not thinking optimally, only going for speed. If there were any people near the mountain, he could not risk their lives to save some qi.

"Stupid, foolish disciple! What if there were people there, you could have killed people!"

Hou had opened a gateway to Junior and became red faced, berating him. Hou truly loved Junior as his disciple but he never wants to harm anyone. He needed to scold Junior for endangering others.

"It's okay, I heard them, there was nobody there. I listened."

Hou took a deep breath and shook his head,

"Just don't be so reckless, I'll tell you later. No magic while I'm not here, you understand?"

"I do."

Hou was feeling scared of Hou somehow, even though Junior was weaker than him, he felt different. He didn't have any emotions and he felt like a puppet, and that power. Right now it was okay, but if he kept growing.... Could Hou even stop him?

When Junior left he saturated this body with wills. He felt something was off, was Junior still really him. He needed to consult Araxis, as the creator of the world he might have some perspective.

Araxis looked into Hou's memories and once he saw them....he took control. Before Hou could do anything, Araxis had controlled his body and started flying!

"Araxis, what are you doing!?"

"No time to explain. If that boy lives.... I'm afraid we all die!"
