Chapter 50: Typing with Both Hands to Prove My Innocence
Inside the temple!
Led by Yue Mei, Lu Bu crossed the small lake and reached the island at its center.
In the original story, Xiao Yan was smacked down by the restrictions when attempting to fly over the lake. Forced to swim through its poisonous waters, he relied on Yao Lao's help to barely make it across. Just as he reached the shore, a lake dwelling beast attacked him, forcing him to expend tremendous effort to finally get ashore.
But Lu Bu was different from Xiao Yan. With Yue Mei as his guide, she deactivated the restrictions with ease. The two of them flew over the lake and passed through the bamboo grove, quickly reaching the island's center where Medusa stood.
"Ah ha… So this is Medusa…" Lu Bu's eyes lit up as his gaze landed on the strikingly beautiful snake woman.
She stood proudly, her luxurious pale purple robe clinging to her voluptuous, fiery figure. Her face, exquisite and enchantingly seductive, carried an innate allure that made it impossible to look away. Her narrow, pale purple eyes brimmed with a sultry charm that could easily ensnare anyone's soul.
As expected of the infamous and stunning Medusa!
At this moment, Medusa's dazzlingly alluring features flickered with hesitation. She clearly understood the risks of what she was about to do.
Lu Bu's eyes gleamed with excitement, though he reluctantly shifted his gaze to the side, landing on a crystalline ice platform. Sitting atop it was an ice crystal lotus, and at its center burned a faintly azure flame. The flame occasionally morphed into a fiery snake, gracefully coiling, or spun like a floating lotus flower.
"That's the Heavenly Flame?" Yue Mei asked, her voice tinged with awe. Being a snake, she naturally preferred cold environments. She would never willingly approach something as scorching as this flame. But even so, its beauty left her stunned.
"The Green Lotus Core Flame, ranked 19th," Lu Bu explained, for once offering Yue Mei some information. "That's my target. Once your queen is done using it, I'll take it."
"Don't forget your promise: If she fails, you must save her soul," Yue Mei reminded him through gritted teeth.
"Relax."
Lu Bu's casual response didn't inspire confidence. After all, Medusa will succeed I just won't tell you I already know the plot!
Yue Mei: "…" I don't feel reassured at all!

Outside the temple, the battle raged on!
"Damn it, you won't invade the temple!" Hua She's icy voice roared, reverberating through the area. On the island, the three figures immediately tensed.
"I'll hold her off; you go inside and search!" A calm female voice rang out, followed by Hua She's furious cries.
It was Yun Yun. She intercepted Hua She, leaving the other two Snake People leaders occupied by Feng Li and Yan Shi.
Yue Mei glanced between Medusa and the battle outside, visibly torn.
"Go. I'll handle things here," Lu Bu said with a grin, smacking her… snake tail and pushing her forward while withdrawing her soul imprint.
"Block Gu He that's your task now," Lu Bu said with a playful smile.
"Pfft! Damn bastard!" Yue Mei spat, her snake tail whipping as she shot outside to join the fight.
Meanwhile, Medusa, hearing the commotion, tensed. The hesitation on her gorgeous face faded, replaced by unyielding resolve. Her flawless features even carried a trace of grim determination.
"If my evolution succeeds, no human within this temple shall leave the desert alive!"
Lu Bu scratched his nose. Is she talking about me? Looks like she already noticed my presence.
Medusa didn't waste time on Lu Bu. With a gentle stroke of her slender hand, her elegant purple robe slipped from her body, revealing a perfect, flawless figure.
"Hisssss!"
Lu Bu sharply inhaled, quickly averting his gaze as he began reciting Buddhist scriptures in his mind to calm himself. To prove his innocence, he resolutely started typing with both hands.
"This woman… I nearly lost my composure!" Lu Bu muttered nervously. The scene was incredible, but his state of mind was far from steady!
Taking a deep breath, Lu Bu steeled himself, ready to take another, more thorough look.
But before he could, an explosion of purple light erupted. A massive purple serpent dozens of meters long floated into the air. Its body was slender and elegant, with faint red markings barely visible beneath its violet scales. On closer inspection, there was a subtle, almost imperceptible rainbow like shimmer hidden within.
This was the Violet Flame Serpent, a rare fire element snake type magical beast. Legend had it that its bloodline carried a trace of the ancient beast, the Seven Colored Heaven Swallowing Python.
Judging by what was happening, this was no mere legend!
The Violet Flame Serpent's gaze swept across the battlefield and Lu Bu's position before diving straight into the Green Lotus Core Flame.
As it entered, the serpent destroyed the array Medusa had set up to control the Heavenly Flame. The moment the array was broken, the Green Lotus Core Flame surged upward, roaring skyward like a fiery pillar.
At the same time, the Violet Flame Serpent charged into the flame without hesitation.
Lu Bu winced at the sight. This woman is crazy charging in like a moth to a flame, seeking destruction.
But perhaps… like a phoenix, she'll rise from the ashes, reborn.
"Screeeeeeeech !!"
A shrill scream erupted from the serpent's mouth as purple light clashed against the azure flame. The two energies wrestled, refusing to yield.
But entering the flame was one thing escaping would be much harder. The Green Lotus Core Flame, a divine force of nature, wouldn't let anyone come and go as they pleased.
"Your Majesty!" Yue Mei, who was battling Gu He outside, froze in horror, staring toward the lake island.
"Fighting me and daring to get distracted?!" Gu He sneered, sending a pillar of blue fire crashing into Yue Mei and slamming her into a wall.
Though Gu He's combat skills were mediocre for a Dou Emperor, against a Dou King, he was still formidable.
"Damn it! I'll kill you!" Yue Mei roared, furious. Her attacks became reckless, raining down on Gu He with the force of her anger. I might not beat Lu Bu, but you're nothing special!
But then the serpent's screams began to fade. Within just a few breaths, the shrieks turned weak, then into whimpers, and finally… silence.
Yue Mei froze mid attack, her face pale. Her Majesty… failed?
"Hah! Did you really think the Heavenly Flame was that easy to control?" Gu He chuckled, striking Yue Mei again and sending her crashing into the wall.
"The Heavenly Flame is wasted in your hands let me take care of it… Wait, what?!"
As Gu He gloated, a chill ran down his spine. The surrounding energy surged, and a terrifying aura erupted. Dark clouds gathered overhead, lightning streaking across the sky in chaotic flashes.
"Her Majesty succeeded!" Yue Mei cried out in joy. Thunder and lightning were signs of a magical beast's rebirth Medusa had done it!
"Hah, you humans are doomed now wha…?" Yue Mei's triumphant declaration trailed off as the powerful aura dissipated like melting snow in sunlight, vanishing in an instant.
Yue Mei: "…" That was… fast.
Even Gu He was momentarily stunned before quickly retreating.

Back on the lake island, Lu Bu found himself face to face with a small, rainbow colored snake no thicker than a finger and only ten centimeters long.
Their gazes locked, wide eyed. When Lu Bu leaned left, the snake mirrored him. When he leaned right, it did the same.

"Hisssss!"
Lu Bu sucked in a breath. Is this little thing… attached to me?
"Hissss!"
The Seven Colored Heaven Swallowing Python coiled around a few times before floating over to Lu Bu's right hand. Its crystalline eyes gleamed with hunger.
Newly born and in need of nourishment, it seemed to say: Time to feed me. Don't expect me to cook for myself!
