Zain stood over Karven's lifeless body.
He rolled the corpse over with his boot and crouched down.
With one motion, he created a blood knife from his blood.

With practiced ease, he severed Karven's head cleanly.
He held it by the hair, examining it with disinterest.
"Gotta take this," he said, half to himself.
"Proof that I crushed an A-Rank trash bag."
"Might as well cash in while I'm here."
He glanced back at Velra, who had already turned away.
She was not sparing the head a second glance.
"You're not bothered by this?" Zain asked.
Velra smiled faintly, arms behind her back.
"Why would I be?"
"He was your former leader."
"He was never mine," she said softly.
Zain nodded.
Then tossed the head into a cloth sack and tied it to his belt.
"So, Velra, it's over, right?"
Velra's smile faded slightly.
She hesitated.
"…I don't know for sure."
Zain raised an eyebrow.
"You got more enemies lurking?"
"Bad connections aside from them?"
