The phone on the corner desk kept going off like an obnoxious alarm clock, the shrill chime breaking the peace of the room.
Jihoon stirred beneath the blanket, scrunching his eyes shut and trying to resist the pull of wakefulness… until the noise left him with no choice.
A long breath escaped him as he pried one eye open, then the other, blinking blearily at the darkened room. It was washed in the faintest gray light that bled in from behind the curtains.
And the only other source of light was the bedside lamp which flashed a warm pool of light that barely reached the corners of the room.
Outside, it didn't even seem like the sun had properly risen yet.
Dragging a hand over his face, Jihoon blinked against the heaviness of sleep. His gaze scanned across the room to find the source of the disturbance and it finally landed on the desk. Along with the beeping sound, the glow of the screen lighting up was clearly seen.
