Chapter 26 - Valesco's Request

Standing victoriously, Chase's battered figure basked in the brilliant light of the sun.

Letting out a ragged breath, he started limping making his way to the clinic, though he kept a stoic expression, behind this visage was a palpating heart filled with fear.

He was well aware of why he won this battle, it wasn't because he was stronger, no fat from that even. It was because of the simple fact that his meal was better supplying him with the nutrients he needed to outlast Nick in battle.

Finally, past the spot where the crowd could see him, he gritted his teeth in anger, he could feel it, he was getting surpassed, and it wasn't a good feeling…

Clenching his hands he continued on his way, he was pretty sure the next challenge would end in his defeat... When his thoughts reached this juncture a chilling light shone in his eyes, either way he wasn't going to be overtaken that easily even if he had to use 'That'...

Back on the field Seth standing amid the now rowdy crowd, gazed at Nick's figure as he was carried straight to the clinic, Gazing at the unconscious body of his benefactor he couldn't help but grin.

Actually, the person who benefited the most from this duel was Seth. One has to remember the fact that due to the unique ability granted to him by the system, he could use the ability from any of his videos, and fortunately, anything he deems as important would automatically be recorded through his eyes.

So thanks to Nick's duel Seth now had two more abilities in his stash, he couldn't help but grin wider. The feeling of getting stronger was intoxicating indeed.

"What's with that weird smile, don't tell me you enjoyed the battle just now. Wait don't tell me your one of those freaks that like getting their ass handed to them." a voice sounded beside Seth.

Rolling his eyes Seth just ignored Dayo's comments and asked "When is it going to be your turn to initiate a duel?"

"Tsk Tsk, can't wait to get rid of me now Huh? But no worries I'm going now where for now" Dayo replied with a disdainful smile.

"I see you've yet to master your powers huh." Seth saw right through Dayo's excuse.

Dayo's smile froze on hearing this statement "Tch" he just clicked his tongue and went on his way, probably going back to training.

Looking at the departing figure of Dayo Seth chuckled inwardly, the mischievous runt wouldn't know his place until you show him.

And just as he was about to go on his way a figure intercepted him, pausing in his tracks Seth tilted his head in confusion "Sorry may I help you?".

Unresponsive the creepy-looking boy just stood there observing Seth while murmuring something to himself, the boy's hair was tattered and long covering his face leaving only a small space for a single lifeless eye to peek through.

After murmuring to himself for a few more seconds the boy went on his way, vanishing among the receding crowd…

'What was that?' Seth wondered unnerved by the boy's appearance, who wouldn't be the boy literally looked like a starving ghost.

Shaking his head Seth proceeded on his way, he had an appointment with Valesco and he had to be there quickly.

Earlier in the morning while they were taking their bath Valesco suddenly asked for his help, stating that he'd be needing a sparring partner that evening…

Seeing no reason to decline Seth accepted, and in truth Velasco was among the candidates he had been observing for some time, and he saw this as an opportunity to get to know him more.

And also he was curious to know the abilities of this reclusive roommate of his…

A few minutes later he arrived at the training center, this was one of the resources the academy provided for the students.

Each Class is designated a certain amount of hours in which they could use this training center a day…

Seth was unaware of the hours assigned to a higher Class but he knew that in their class D each student were allowed 80 minutes a day.

But considering the various chambers within, such as the gravity chamber, the reflex chamber, the custom enemy chamber and the self chamber, 80 minutes was hardly enough time for anyone to gain any benefits from these chambers.

This was why most Class D students just used the training center's main hall for sparring…

Walking into the main hall Seth saw Valesco standing at the corner.

On seeing Seth the pretty boy's eyes lit up as he quickly approached.

"Sorry for the late arrival, I had to go see the duel," Seth quickly apologized he had meant to be here fifteen minutes ago,but he couldn't possibly miss the chance to acquire new abilities.

"No worries I was the one who needed your help" Valesco replied, hesitating for a bit he then continued "Seth can I trust you?".

"Huh!" Seth was caught off guard by the question " I mean yes, it depends".

Nodding Valesco started "Nine days ago when Dayo told us all about his problem with his ability, and you figured out the solution easily, it made me wonder why was it that you could figure out a solution to a problem that had been plaguing him for a very long time and easily at that."

"And then it clicked it wasn't that the solution was hard neither was it easy, it just that it solution needed someone to think from another view or you can say outside the box," then Valesco paused once through his conflicted expression one could tell he was hesitant on saying something.

Meanwhile, Seth kept silent waiting for him to speak, this was the first time he had heard Valesco speak so much, so it could be seen that whatever was bothering him was very important.

After a few seconds of hesitation, he sighed and gazed at Seth once more "I also have a problem and I was hoping you'd be able to look at it from another angle"
