"You must not entertain such thoughts!"
Ye Wen sternly warned Yue Na, his voice heavy with suppressed intensity.
However, the Silver Dragon King Yue Na remained unfazed. With a casual wave of her hand, she dispelled the oppressive aura Ye Wen had emitted and calmly replied,
"Don't be so tense, my dear husband.
I was merely speaking hypothetically. After all, aren't you troubled about how to handle Na'er?
In truth, whether or not I merge with Na'er has little impact on my power. On the contrary, if I were to fuse with her, I would no longer be purely myself. If given the choice, I wouldn't want to fully merge with Na'er even now."
Hearing Yue Na's words, Ye Wen felt slightly relieved. After all, Na'er was a beloved daughter he had raised for over a century—he couldn't bear to lose her.
Yet, Ye Wen didn't completely trust Yue Na's explanation. The realm of the soul was far too mysterious.
Yue Na's current state was akin to a human with dissociative identity disorder, except that the two personalities had been completely separated into distinct individuals.
Moreover, they shared memories and sensations with each other.
That alone would have been manageable, but the dominant personality was none other than Yue Na, a God King-level Silver Dragon King. The unknown variables she could manipulate were beyond even Ye Wen's comprehension.
Picking up the chair he had knocked over, Ye Wen continued,
"It's good that you think this way, but let me make one thing clear beforehand.
If you ever truly absorb Na'er, I will never forgive you—even though you are now my wife."
Looking into Ye Wen's serious gaze, Yue Na's heart grew complex.
She had always known how much Ye Wen valued his family, but now she was directly confronted with the depth of his feelings.
"Rest assured, husband. I promise I won't do such a thing. For the sake of this family and the responsibility I bear toward the soul beast race, I will remain true to my duties."
With Yue Na's assurance, Ye Wen's mood improved slightly.
But there was still a lingering knot in his heart.
"Why didn't you tell me about your connection with Na'er when we first agreed to marry? Why did I have to discover it myself now?"
Contrary to Ye Wen's expectation of Yue Na calmly responding, the usually aloof Yue Na revealed a rare and complex expression—an emotion that the previously detached Silver Dragon King had never shown.
Seeing this, Ye Wen was moved and chose not to press further.
After a long silence, Yue Na exhaled softly, her breath carrying the faint fragrance of orchids.
"If I had told you, would you still have chosen to marry me?"
At Yue Na's question, Ye Wen was momentarily at a loss for words, but deep down, he already knew the answer: no. He would have sought another way to bring the soul beast race under control.
Seeing Ye Wen's speechless reaction, Yue Na's face—usually as cold and unyielding as eternal frost—suddenly blossomed into a radiant smile, like flowers blooming in spring.
"Heheh, just as you understand Na'er, when I first synchronized with her, I came to understand her thoughts as well.
So, I knew you wouldn't agree. But for the responsibilities I carry, I had to marry you.
If you must hate someone, then hate me. It was my choice, and I don't regret it. In fact, I've never been more grateful for my decision because the person I met was you."
As she spoke, a faintly self-mocking smile appeared on Yue Na's exquisite face, but her eyes remained fixed on Ye Wen, brimming with complex emotions.
Ye Wen, on the other hand, fell into complete silence.
Hate her? No, it wasn't that simple.
Over the years since their marriage, though Yue Na hadn't been the perfect wife, she had never done anything harmful. On the contrary, she had consistently supported him, helping to unite the soul beasts and humans to build the Douluo Star of today.
"Sigh…"
Ye Wen let out a soft sigh, his gaze complicated as he asked once more,
"So… is the connection between you and Na'er truly unbreakable?"
Yue Na nodded slightly and explained, "Our connection is intricate. We are both two individuals and yet one.
Even across billions of miles, we can sense each other's presence. This bond cannot be severed, not even by seals."
"Is that so."
This final confirmation caused Ye Wen to completely abandon any thoughts of severing their connection. He then sank into a prolonged silence, lost in deep contemplation.
Watching Ye Wen genuinely struggle with the issue of her and Na'er, the affection in Yue Na's eyes grew increasingly evident.
Gently rising to her feet, Yue Na walked behind Ye Wen and tenderly wrapped her arms around his neck from behind.
Sensing the familiar, intoxicating fragrance, Ye Wen snapped back to his senses.
"What is it? Leave this matter to me. Just continue being my precious wife."
A strained smile lingered on Ye Wen's lips, as if he assumed Yue Na shared his same worries and was trying to comfort her.
But the more Ye Wen spoke, the tighter Yue Na's embrace became, allowing him to clearly feel the fullness of the beauty behind him.
At this moment, Yue Na's voice softly drifted from behind him.
"You know, we are essentially the same person, so my feelings for you are also Na'er's feelings.
Moreover, when I first merged with Na'er, it was she who transmitted her love to me, allowing me to truly experience the emotions you humans speak of.
So, stop worrying, my husband. Take Na'er as well. That girl is quite low-key anyway. As long as we don't publicly disclose our relationship, no one will meddle in your personal affairs.
After all, you are the one and only Creator God of Douluo Star now. You should live more freely and indulgently, without caring so much about others' opinions.
Because this universe is cruel—only the strong survive, while the weak are silenced."
Yue Na's voice gradually grew sultry, making Ye Wen feel as though the woman embracing him from behind wasn't his pure and virtuous wife, but rather a seductive succubus luring him into the depths of depravity.
Ye Wen wanted to resist and refute Yue Na's words, but dark desires surged uncontrollably within him. Extravagant and decadent illusions relentlessly washed over his mind.
Though Yue Na wasn't as skilled in manipulating desire as Bi Bi Dong, she could sense that Ye Wen's resolve was wavering.
The increasingly human-like Yue Na began to curve her lips into a mischievous, devilish smile.
Tempting Ye Wen further, she whispered, "My dear husband, dragons are naturally lustful. Surely you don't want sweet Na'er to endure unrelieved desires every day, do you?"
Those words were the final blow that shattered the remnants of Ye Wen's rationality. Breaking free from Yue Na's embrace, he panted heavily and took her right there on the spot.
"Ah! Ah! Ah!!!
You're going too far, Na Na!!! I'm the head of this household—don't provoke me like this!!!
