Qian Xue silently shook her head.

"I don't know, my love. Do you know something about it? Could you tell me?"

Since they were family, Ye Wen didn't intend to hide anything. However, instead of directly answering, he began recounting the secrets of the god realm in a calm tone.

"Did you know, Qian Xue, that before the current human era, Douluo Star was dominated by spirit beasts? Even the god realm was no exception—it was essentially the Dragon God's era.

You might think the five God Kings currently in the god realm, including myself, are impressive, but what you don't realize is that back then, there were at least thirty God King-level experts in the god realm. Nearly twenty of them were dragon clan members, and the number of gods from other realms was countless.

What remains now is only a fraction of what once existed."

This revelation was completely new to Qian Xue, whose beautiful eyes widened in astonishment.

"That's incredible!"

But soon, she noticed something odd.

"However, if the god realm back then was so powerful, why does it now have only five God Kings? Even adding up all the other gods doesn't reach a hundred!"

Qian Xue fell into deep thought. Ye Wen didn't interrupt her; he quite enjoyed watching his little wife ponder earnestly. He simply sat there with an amused smile, observing her.

"Was it because the non-dragon God Kings rebelled? But even if it were twenty against ten, the Dragon God's side wouldn't lose, even with their hands tied.

Could it be due to spatial turbulence? But that shouldn't be the case either. Thirty God Kings working together should have been able to easily withstand a spatial storm.

The only remaining possibility would be an invasion by external enemies!"

Qian Xue confidently announced her conclusion, then looked at Ye Wen expectantly, her lively eyes seemingly asking, "Am I right?"

Ye Wen couldn't help but chuckle. Even after living for over a hundred years, his wife still acted like a child at times.

But he liked it.

With a gentle shake of his head, Ye Wen slowly explained,

"The reason the god realm ended up in its current state is absurd. Even I found it hard to believe when I first learned of it, so just take it as a funny story.

The current weakness of the god realm isn't due to rebellion or external factors.

It's because, during the ascension of the god realm into a divine star, an accident occurred. For some unknown reason, the Dragon God—the supreme ruler—went berserk and slaughtered most of the dragon clan and other factions' gods, severely wounding the entire god realm.

When other gods arrived, they misunderstood the situation and began a massive battle royale, eventually leading to the current structure.

As for the former supreme ruler, the Dragon God, his final fate was being split in two by the previous Asura God King's sword.

But as the supreme ruler of the god realm, the Dragon God wasn't so easily defeated.

I even suspect that the Dragon God wasn't merely a God King-level existence. He may have reached an even higher level. After all, his severed body split into two new God Kings: the Golden Dragon King, representing destruction, and the Silver Dragon King, representing creation.

Even though these two fragments weren't as strong as the original Dragon God, they were still overwhelming for the remaining gods.

In the end, the Silver Dragon King fled to Douluo Star, while the Golden Dragon King resisted the remaining five God Kings in the god realm and was eventually sealed deep within it.

Of course, this secret is known only to the five God Kings and a few ancient gods. Don't go spreading it around."

Seeing Ye Wen's mischievous expression as he finished speaking, Qian Xue burst out laughing.

She playfully nudged him. "You're terrible! I'm not a child—I won't blab about it~"

They teased each other for a while longer.

Then, Qian Xue remembered the main topic and asked seriously, "So how does the Dragon God's era relate to my Angel martial soul?"

Hmm...

Ye Wen swallowed. To be honest, he didn't know the exact origin of Qian Xue's martial soul.

But that didn't stop him from crafting a plausible story.

"There's definitely a connection.

Look at the current god realm. Isn't it true that all the gods are idle, and the subordinate worlds are extremely peaceful?"

Qian Xue instinctively nodded in agreement.

"But do you think that's normal? We gods aren't beings without desires. If we wanted more, what do you think we should do?"

At Ye Wen's words, Qian Xue realized the inconsistency.

Though the gods of the god realm were immortal, they weren't devoid of desires. On the contrary, gods needed vast amounts of faith energy to advance further.

This need led to the unique time rule of the god realm: one day in the god realm equaled one year in the mortal realm.

This massive time difference allowed the gods to rapidly accumulate faith energy without growing bored.

But human hearts are never satisfied—not even gods, who were originally human and retained their desires.

Yet, planets were limited in number.

How could they obtain more faith energy? An answer formed in Qian Xue's mind.

"External wars."

Seeing that Qian Xue had arrived at her own conclusion, Ye Wen nodded approvingly.

But despite Ye Wen's affirmation, the current state of the god realm left Qian Xue puzzled.

"So why is the god realm so peaceful now? There's no sign of outward expansion or war!"

Her voice trailed off as a thought struck her.

"Is it because of spatial turbulence?"

Seeing Ye Wen nod affirmatively, Qian Xue finally understood why the god realm was in its current state.

In this universe, spatial turbulence frequently occurred. Gods below the first-tier level risked getting lost in it.

And that was the milder scenario. Encountering a spatial storm was truly fatal—ubiquitous spatial cracks could tear even a first-tier god to pieces.

Thus, the gods of the god realm avoided venturing into unfamiliar starry skies, fearing spatial turbulence or storms.

Qian Xue vaguely remembered several harrowing encounters with spatial storms in the cosmos from her past life.

Even now, the memories sent shivers down her spine.

This explained why the god realm refrained from external conquests—it was too weak.

If they were to wage war, they'd need at least one or more God King-level protectors for their armies. But conquering a single planet would yield negligible benefits for the god realm, which already governed hundreds of life-bearing planets.

Moreover, the universe harbored other dangers. While God Kings could protect themselves, they couldn't guarantee the safety of vast invading armies. Any losses would outweigh the gains.

In summary, the god realm couldn't afford to take risks.

Qian Xue now had a deeper understanding of the Dragon God's immense power.

To have made the god realm so powerful back then, this Dragon God must have been capable of freely traversing the universe.

And Ye Wen knew the truth: even the physical body of the half-Dragon God, the Golden Dragon King, was formidable enough to traverse spatial storms unscathed.

Had it not been for the combined attack of five God Kings, it was uncertain who would now rule the god realm.

At this moment, Qian Xue seemed to have also figured out the origin of her martial soul.

If martial souls originated from tangible entities reflected in human bloodlines, did that mean angels had once truly existed?
