Chapter 272 - Chapter 273: The Dragon Crystal Fusion Plan

Chapter 273: The Dragon Crystal Fusion Plan

If it had been in the past, George would never have easily taught the magic he had learned from other worlds to others.

Because he was worried that if he passed on his magic, the enemy might eventually learn it, and then use the very magic he had taught to attack him. Wouldn't that be like lifting a stone only to drop it on one's own foot?

But now, his strength had grown significantly. As long as it wasn't core magic, he felt that spreading some of it wouldn't pose any threat to him.

Especially magic like the Mirror World—non-offensive, and even if an enemy learned to cast it, he could detect it immediately.

In the Middle-earth world, he founded the Middle-earth Hogwarts Academy with the intention of passing on Light Magic and Giant Magic to the elves.

These two types of magic were very positive and would not cause any displeasure from the gods upon learning of them.

If he were to teach elves and humans the Killing Curse, then even if he managed to defeat Morgoth, the gods might not look upon him favorably.

In fact, in the Fairy Tail world, he had previously compiled part of the magic from the Harry Potter world into spellbooks and placed them in the library of the Fairy Tail Guild.

This even included the much-needed Repair Charm for the Fairy Tail Guild.

Due to the difference in magical systems between the two worlds, and the lack of corresponding foundational knowledge, it was difficult to comprehend and learn. So he had tried his best to improve the Repair Charm to suit the magical system of the Fairy Tail world.

Of course, it was still challenging to learn—much harder than the original Fairy Tail magic.

After all, it originally required incantations and wands to cast, but now it had been modified to use magic circles. Naturally, the principles were quite different.

But with effort, it was still possible to learn.

However, until now, not a single person had gone to study his Repair Charm.

Because almost every Fairy Tail mage believed that the magic they currently used was the most suitable and the best for them, no matter how good someone else's magic might be.

So they devoted themselves wholeheartedly to refining their own magic.

If the Repair Charm could be learned in just a few days, they might have considered it.

But if it required several months, or even half a year to a year for someone with weaker magical ability, and if the repair effects were not very ideal in the beginning, then of course they wouldn't be willing.

Even Makarov, the guild master who valued the Repair Charm the most, was unwilling to spend the time learning it. According to Makarov, since they had George, the repair master, there was no need.

Whenever George was no longer around, they could learn it then.

Even if George were to be gone in the future, it was likely that he would have apprentices. The title of repair mage would definitely be passed on.

"Alright, we agree to this condition!"

Without much hesitation, the Weasley twins handed over the Marauder's Map to George.

For them, they had long since mastered all the hidden passages of Hogwarts. The Marauder's Map was mainly just to guard against Filch's patrols.

But once they learned George's spells, they could enter the Mirror World to avoid Filch, achieving the same effect.

The key point was that the Marauder's Map could only be used in Hogwarts, whereas the Mirror World could be used anywhere, and would greatly enhance the effectiveness of their pranks.

It didn't take much thought to realize how worthwhile this deal was.

"Very good!"

George put away the Marauder's Map and then said to the Weasley twins:

"Tomorrow, I'll prepare the corresponding spellbooks for you. If you don't understand something later, you can come ask me."

The magical systems of the Harry Potter world and the Fairy Tail world were quite different. Without a certain amount of adaptation, it would be difficult for either side to learn the other's magic.

After all, the Fairy Tail world was a purely illusionary world, and its writing system was entirely different from that of the Harry Potter world.

However, the magical systems of the Wizard Apprentice world and the Harry Potter world were quite similar. The worlds were broadly alike—both had a wizard named Merlin, and magic was performed using wands, rings, and similar mediums.

The magical principles of these two worlds were essentially not that different. With slight modifications, the magic could be learned properly.

After returning to the Slytherin dormitory, George went to bed.

Over the next few days, George spent time learning how to make Portkeys from Dumbledore, guiding the Weasley twins in learning Mirror Magic, and also began studying the Marauder's Map.

October 16, Hagrid's Hut.

"George, thank you for your help last time. If it weren't for you, Buckbeak might've been in real trouble!"

Hagrid placed his freshly made rock cakes in front of George, his tone full of gratitude.

George picked up one of the rock-hard cakes and took a few bites, then replied:

"It was Malfoy's fault to begin with. It was nothing."

At the beginning of the third year, during the first Care of Magical Creatures class, Malfoy had offended and been scratched on the arm by the hippogriff Buckbeak. Enraged, he planned to have his father fire Hagrid and have Buckbeak executed.

Although Malfoy wasn't as hostile to Harry and his friends now—thanks to George's influence—he had still grown up spoiled as the son of a top wizarding noble family, and his princely temper naturally remained.

There was no helping it, so Hagrid and the others turned to George, hoping he could intervene and defuse the situation.

For George, this was indeed no big deal.

Hagrid was his friend, and George had often cared for Buckbeak the hippogriff during his magical creature research last year.

So he stepped in and talked to Malfoy, convincing him to drop the idea of informing his father.

"Lucius Malfoy has strong connections in the Ministry of Magic. If he truly wanted Buckbeak executed, even Dumbledore wouldn't be able to stop it, since Buckbeak really did injure Malfoy.

It's my fault. I shouldn't have used Buckbeak for teaching. I just wanted to leave a good impression during the kids' first class with me."

Hagrid grabbed one of his rock cakes, eating as he chatted with George.

And during this casual talk, George also brought up the purpose of his visit.

"Hagrid, you've always liked dragons. Do you know where fire dragons are currently distributed?"

"Oh, I know all about that! You know I once raised a fire dragon—I researched it extensively and even wrote to many friends."

As soon as Hagrid heard it was about fire dragons, he instantly perked up.

"Australian Opaleye—they're mostly in New Zealand, though some have migrated to Australia.

Common Welsh Greens and Hebridean Blacks—there are quite a few here in the British Isles.

Hungarian Horntails are native to Hungary, but now most are in Romania."

Hagrid went on to describe all ten types of fire dragons known in the wizarding world to George in great detail.

And George listened very attentively, because he planned to spend the upcoming weekends traveling around the world to hunt down one of each kind of dragon, then refine them into Dragon Crystals to implant into his body.

This was his Dragon Crystal Fusion Plan.
