Chapter 7 - Chapter 6: First Time in the Dungeon (6)

Hence while floating I thought to activate the acceleration skill, which almost created another impression of me on the light blue walls of the dungeon, I was saved because of a last minute turn while using the float skill.

The acceleration skill did not have any hamper while I was flying in the sky and could increase the speed while moving through the air in a straight line. Because on the ground I had to move my legs to move forward, but while floating in the air all I had to do was thinking about it, so the float + acceleration combo was truly dangerous.

--------------------------------

But after everything was done, I was still happy, as my speed, if I could properly control both skills, could at least be more than a genuine Level 4 Adventurer and if I increased my proficiency in these, my speed would at least match or be over a Level 5 just as a Level 1, which can act as a trump card during any dangers.

The next thing was the wooden sword made from the branch of the world tree, which was really out of the this world, because as far as I know there are only holy trees in this world and no world tree. Also, I was not sure how but for a sword made from wood, it still had a sharp edge on one side of the blade, hmm maybe some magic? Not sure.

Anyway I needed to test this sword both with and without magic, it would be a great plus if this sword can really create sword slashes with strong power, as then using my spatial sense, I can easily defeat a group of 10 to 15 monsters without a sweat.

After swinging the wooden sword to get a grip of it, I placed the sword which I was already using into my inventory and equipped the wooden sword, I had also gotten the sheath for it along with the sword.

...

After checking all the rewards and trying the the acceleration skill a few more times, I left the small room in search of some monsters to fight against.

The first enemy to appear was a armed kobold, followed by four more kobolds.

I took the basic sword drawing stance and faced the approaching monsters, then immediately used the acceleration skill, all I felt was that the kobold's slowed down, and the wooden sword was like using a knife to cut through butter, it easily went through the kobold's, even slicing straight through a magic stone.

If it was before, I at least had to block the kobold's attack, watch out for their sneak attacks while fighting them, but now, it was like they were standing there foolishly allowing me to slice them without even putting up a fight.

It was almost like the difference between a trained person and an untrained person. It was damn easy.

After picking up the other four kobold's magic stone and crushing the first sliced one, I once again picked a random direction and set out to completely map out this floor also.

Completely lighting up the map was like an almost addiction, just imagine, when one plays a game, the map in the game shows unexplored area ahead, won't there be the curiosity to find out what is there and if there is any treasure? Or a rare boss? Or a NPC which leads on a secret mission?

Anyway enough thoughts about that, I did not forget that I am still in the dungeon and need to be careful of monsters spawning nearby.

...

Once again, I found myself in front of another set of stairs leading downwards to the fifth floor.

I was not able to level up even after exploring the entire floor. I still needed 100 exp to level up to level 5.

I still wanted to explore more but decided to go back to the surface as it was more than 12 hours due to me taking breaks and exploring the four entire floors without missing any corners.

But even after exploring four entire floor, I still did not come across any Jack Bird, whose guaranteed drop item was said to be worth atleast a million valis, maybe someone had already come across it and there was a cooldown time before another one spawns?.

...

After just going down the stairs and placing one leg on the fifth floor's opening room, I went back up the stairs.

The walls on the fifth floor were light green in color as compared to the first four floors which were light blue in color.

Anyway now for the rewards of the unique quest. Let's see what are the rewards for it.

[Unique Quest: Reach the 5 floor in this expedition. ✓ Completed

Rewards:

1) A one time power-up to Level 40 (A Level - 4 falna adventurer) (Time duration: 24 hours)

2) A one time power-up to Level 70 (A Level - 7 falna adventurer) (Time duration: 12 hours) ]

'WoW' I could only do my best to close my wide open mouth, these two are almost like the best trump cards for the current me, especially the Level- 70 power up, which means I am the strongest, except Freya Familia's Ottar, who recently leveled up to become Level 7. And also the time duration too, it's simply great. Any fight at max may take a few hours but this is 12 hours duration and the other one is 24 hours even better.

'Would I be able to take down Ottar if I launched a successful sneak attack?' Something to be thought about very seriously.

I then began retracing my steps backwards towards the surface from the fourth floor and kept a small goal of reaching Level 5 before reaching the surface.

...

As per the small goal I had set, I had achieved Level 5 by the time I was even halfway through floor 3, there was a monster party near the stairs of the fourth floor, which gave me the required exp, making me reach Level 5 ahead of my goal.

Another disheartening thing about me reaching Level 5 was that the exp required to reach Level 6 had doubled to 1000. How much time will it require to farm for 1000 exp. No choice but to go on an all night grind the next time.

...

It was already night by the time I had reached the entrance near the dungeon, bright lights lit up near the opening of the dungeon and adventurer's going out of the dungeon, others going into the dungeon.

As soon as I stepped on the surface outside the dungeon, a muted 'ding' went off in my mind. But ignoring that, I made way to the guild counter in the Tower of Babel to exchange the magic stones and drop items from the first floor only.

I think my luck finally turned because they said that two of the drop item were rare mutated goblin fangs worth double it's price, the total coming to almost 5000 valis. The mutated goblin fangs were about 3000 valis of the total. It was already a huge amount for a first time expedition in the dungeon.
