Chapter 247 - Chapter 247: Going Home

Roa noticed the look of confusion on Rudeus's face, patted the red dragon's back, signaling it to take off. Dark magic flowed into the red dragon's body as Roa began to control the magic, directing where the dragon should fly.

Once the red dragon took off, Roa said, "If you have any questions, just ask. I'll consider whether to answer based on your questions."

Rudeus held onto Roa's back, watching the ground recede below them, his face showing a mix of initial paleness and a hint of excitement.

Rudeus didn't hold back and directly asked, "Roa, where did this dragon come from?"

While the red dragon's strength might not be top-tier, it was certainly not weak. Among dragonkind, the red dragon ranked quite high. Being a dragon, its combat power was unquestionable, and its entire body was a treasure. After all, the mountain range was named after the red dragon.

While it was possible to kill a red dragon, there were no known adventurers who could tame one.

Wild beasts are inherently difficult to tame; often, even taming a dog can be quite a challenge, let alone a red dragon at the top of the food chain.

Seeing Roa transform into a dragon knight, Rudeus's curiosity and wonder were naturally piqued.

Riding a giant dragon and soaring through the sky—what could be more romantic for a man?

In an instant, Rudeus's mind was filled with excitement.

"This one? I found it in the Red Dragon Mountain Range and felt a connection, so I took it in," Roa casually replied.

There was indeed a connection; after all, Roa had wiped out the entire family, leaving only this trembling one behind. How could that not be considered fate?

"Roa, you went to the Red Dragon Mountain Range?" Rudeus exclaimed in surprise.

It was no wonder Rudeus was so shocked; the Red Dragon Mountain Range was not close, and as the name suggested, it was filled with treacherous terrain and hot temperatures, with a large amount of fire elements on the surface. The environment was harsh, so basically, no one would go to that cursed place, let alone the red dragons that occasionally hovered in the sky, breathing fire.

There was no benefit to going there, and over time, it had essentially been designated a forbidden zone.

Roa nodded and fell silent.

Rudeus was curious about why Roa had gone there, but seeing that Roa wasn't speaking, he didn't press further and instead asked about something else.

"Um, Roa, I also want a red dragon like this. Can I tame one?" Rudeus asked tentatively.

Roa turned to look at the blonde boy behind him and decisively shook his head.

"You probably can't. Killing a red dragon and taming one are two completely different probabilities. If your strength doesn't match, such a pet can easily develop other intentions. You have to understand that loyalty is not absolute, which means it can easily turn into betrayal," Roa explained.

Although Rudeus had anticipated this answer in his heart, hearing Roa's straightforward refusal still left him a bit disappointed.

"However…"

Roa changed his tone, "If you want to ride it for fun, I can lend it to you. This little guy is absolutely loyal to me."

Rudeus was overjoyed, his excitement evident on his face.

"Really?"

Roa's expression was somewhat strange; he couldn't quite understand Rudeus's attitude. Riding a dragon was indeed cool, but was it really necessary to be this excited? After thinking for a moment, Roa asked, "What do you plan to do?"

Rudeus hesitated for a moment and said to Roa, "I want to show Sylphy."

Roa's mouth twitched slightly, but he didn't say anything about Rudeus's behavior.

Understood, the little guy wants to flirt and deepen his relationship. Rudeus thinks the red dragon is quite nice, equivalent to a Rolls-Royce in his past life; in every aspect, it exudes high status.

As a man, those who understand, understand, but reminders still need to be given.

Roa spoke up: "The little guy has a bad temper; you need to find a way to get along with it. Although I can control it to prevent it from actively harming you, if you want a pleasant experience, you still need to handle the relationship well."

Rudeus appear humble and eager to learn, which left Roa speechless.

Feeling the cold air brush against his cheeks, the village below turned into a black dot as the red dragon flapped its black-red wings, stirring up large currents of air.

Looking down at the world from above gives a different feeling, especially while flying at high speed.

A unique emotion surged from the depths of Rudeus's heart; the world is so vast that even he can do something.

Roa ignored Rudeus, who was lost in thought, yawned, and looked ahead with some boredom.

Thanks to the red dragon, a journey that would normally take a day was completed in just an hour.

The red dragon circled in the sky for a while, searching for a landing spot.

Because it was a red dragon, it chose to land in a nearby forest to avoid disturbing the villagers.

In fact, with such a large body, anyone who paid a little attention would notice it.

The red dragon landed, and Roa jumped down from its back with Rudeus. Roa patted the red dragon, infusing some of his magical power into its body. The red dragon shook its spirit and rubbed its head against Roa again to show closeness.

Roa didn't say much and led Rudeus toward Paul's house.

Paul is the lord of this village. The village isn't small, but being in the countryside, it doesn't hold much value. The surrounding villagers are just honest farmers, surviving under Paul's protection.

Paul's life isn't particularly strained; while he can't be as wealthy as the Greyrat family, he has no issues with food and shelter, and supporting his family is easy.

Of course, this can only be considered a comfortable life. When it comes to places that require a lot of money, Paul can only shrug, indicating that his family is broke.

Since it's autumn, the rice has grown, and the farmers are busy harvesting. Along the way, all that can be seen are busy farmers.

The golden rice ears sway in the fields with the autumn wind. Roa looked at them and didn't find the scene novel.

He had seen it every day as a child; even if the view was golden, after a long time, the freshness faded, and it felt nothing special.

Walking down the central path, Roa still remembered the way home; he had just returned not long ago.

In less than half an hour, Roa found his home.

In the courtyard, a girl with cherry-pink hair, the tips green, was playing with two little girls.

The girl was beautiful, with a charming figure, wearing a pink long dress, and was smiling while playing with the two girls.

Who else could it be but Mitsuri Kanroji?
