Chapter 136: The Aftermath and the Road Ahead

As the corvette drifted back into hyperspace, Raizen exhaled, tension slowly releasing from his shoulders. The battle with the Syndicate had been close, too close, and it reinforced what he already knew—they needed to get stronger.

Nyx crossed her arms. "That was reckless."

Raizen smirked. "Worked, didn't it?"

Selara let out a breath. "Barely."

Liana's hands worked swiftly over the control panel. "Shields at twenty percent. Weapons systems need a full diagnostic. If we run into another battle like that, we won't be so lucky."

Raizen nodded. "Then we take this time to regroup. We'll reach the neutral station in a few hours—let's make the most of it."

A Moment of Reflection

Raizen retreated to his quarters, the recent battle still replaying in his mind. He clenched his fists, feeling the lingering Draconic energy coursing through his body.

The inheritance he unlocked had boosted his abilities, but it wasn't enough. The Oroboros Syndicate wouldn't stop. The moment they caught wind of his survival, they would come again—stronger, deadlier, and more prepared.

His grip tightened. He needed more power. More control. More allies.

A soft knock broke his thoughts. Nyx stepped inside, closing the door behind her.

"You're brooding," she said, leaning against the wall.

Raizen raised a brow. "Observant."

She smirked. "It's written all over your face. You're wondering if you're strong enough to handle what's coming."

He didn't answer.

Nyx took a step closer. "You won today, Raizen. But you're right—this is just the beginning. The Syndicate knows what you are now. They won't stop."

Raizen met her gaze. "Then I won't either."

A flicker of something crossed her expression—approval, maybe admiration.

"You'll need help," she said. "More than just the people on this ship."

Raizen nodded. "I know."

Nyx hesitated before speaking again. "Then let me show you how to find them."

A New Plan

By the time they arrived at the neutral station, Raizen had formulated his next steps. He needed resources, allies, and a foothold in the galactic underworld.

Nyx had connections. Selara knew how to navigate the criminal networks. Seraphina's intellect would be invaluable in deciphering ancient Draconic knowledge.

It was time to build something bigger than just survival.

As the station came into view, Raizen exhaled. The real game was about to begin.
