It was now night time and Barbius was back from work. Leah had refused to let me out of her reach since she came back so I was glad he was back. She should direct some of that attention to her husband.
She had cooked up a meal with me and Simon keeping her company in the kitchen. Simon had expressed his intent to stay with me for the night and she had been a bit too happy, too eager to let him stay.
"Do not do anything scandalous." She giggled as she stirred a pot of soup which was boiling.
Mei followed me around like a leech, always keeping a distance but following me nevertheless.
When Baurbius came back, he did not act as if she was in the room so I could not tell whether he could see her or not. Simon on the other hand had made himself right at home, chatting effortlessly with Leah and keeping her company.
They were like two peas in the same pod, it was a wonder how they had never crossed paths before I came along.
