As soon as those words left his mouth, I vanished like a bolt loosened from the heavens. I was silent, unstoppable, and blinding. One second, I was there with them; the next, I was like air—uncatchable—slipping through the walls of the dungeons. Time was against me, bleeding too fast. I had just one minute—just one minute to bring him. The other three minutes were his, to perform whatever ritual he wanted to.
When I got teleported into the room, he was still there—struggling, writhing—and it was worse than earlier.
This time, the ritual Seraphina had cast in the room before we left had already faded. If I had been a second late, there was a high possibility the demons would have been here. Not only that, they could have taken him too—which wouldn't just be risky, but dangerous.
