Jonas placed a hand on my shoulder, and I was still silently processing what had just happened when a familiar voice echoed down the alley.
— Impressive, Park Salin. — The voice behind me made me spin around quickly, still gripping the piece of wood.
It was Jaeho, standing there with his arms crossed and a surprised smile on his face.
— Were you following me? — I asked, not hiding my shock.
— Of course I was. I've got orders to keep you safe. — He stepped closer, glanced at Jonas, then at me and the unconscious men. — But honestly? I don't think I need to worry that much.
— I... I don't know if... — I looked at him, still dazed. The adrenaline was fading, and the weight of what just happened was starting to hit me.
— Relax. — He gave my shoulder a pat. — You did what you had to do. And it was impressive. I didn't know you had it in you.
My breathing slowed down a bit, a small wave of relief washing over me. But Jonas took a step back, even more freaked out.
