The face we make when we don't actually believe a word someone kept babbling on even though they seemed convincing enough to repent a sinner. Yeah, exactly. That's exactly how Samuel face was.
With a raised eyebrow and a skeptical gaze he directed at Jae Won made him so nervous as if he could see through his lies and the slightly open mouth and tilted head confirms his unbelievable face.
"It's true, believe me I don't like him" he denies trying to change the direction of the topic "how was your day?" Jae Won asked.
Samuel smiled and knew what Jae Won was up to but he doesn't take no for an answer as he is as stubborn than a mule. He is even more stubborn than a mule.
With a raised eyebrow he said "you think I don't have eyes. I've seen you two several times that I'm convinced you both like each other but I wonder why he still went for a girlfriend". With a puzzled look he turned to look at Jae Won's reaction only to see a lowered head of Jae Won who will be shedding tears any moment now.
"*sigh….I thought so but…" he absentmindedly answered his true feelings without realizing only to close his mouth when he later realized what he had just said.
Samuel who had caught the mouse in his trap smiled slyly like a villain in a Korean drama "oh really I thought you didn't.." he continued his sentence in a sign language which says 'you don't like him'.
"Okay fine , you got me but I thought he also did and I can feel it too but I don't know why he is behaving like that" he finally opened up to someone who is a younger than him.
"But…aren't you worried about me being a man. I mean if Vincent ever think of dating me, will you be okay!" Jae Won genuinely asked.
"Hahaha….. don't think I'm a child so I can't understand some things. In fact I watched boys love romance and many more" he scoffed as he continued "don't judge a book by its cover okay?" he said as he turned back to the cartoon he was watching.
They kept talking while on the other hand, those two couple helped Beatrice out by attending to the food she was preparing before she left for her pool party back at the mansion.
Emelia watched as Vincent kept on preparing the meal like a professional chef as he did this and that putting things together to form a meal and couldn't help but feel she was the luckiest girl alive to have a such a man.
"Wow, I think I'm the luckiest girl" she said as she kept her gaze on Vincent skillfully hands doing the miracles on the kitchen counter.
"Why is that?" Vincent asked as he still kept his focus on what he was doing. After a waiting for a while without any response, he turned to look at Emelia who was stunned to see her man playing with the knife.
"What?" He said with a smirk lurking at the corner of his mouth bringing her mind back to earth. "Huh?…. Oh yeah that's because I have you as my boyfriend and I know I made the right choice to fall in love with you" she said as she went behind Vincent and hugged him tightly he could barely breath.
If they weren't couple, people would think Emelia wanted to murder him with a hug. "*cough…I think I will die of hug" Vincent said and immediately Emelia let go off him.
Beatrice entered my shortly after Emelia's let go of Vincent thus Vincent turned to look at Emelia with a look of 'you are lucky this time' written on his face.
Emelia too replied with 'I know' look on her face later Beatrice joined them as they continued to prepare for dinner.
After a few minutes, Vincent stopped and started preparing Jae Won Korean dishes confusing Emelia who stared right at him in a daze like she has been hypnotized "what?" Vincent asked bringing her back to earth.
Emelia cleared her throat as she tried to speak but no words was coming out of her mouth. "What are you doing?" She finally managed to speak after a whole minute.
Vincent smiled and turned to look at her "it's Jae Won's meal" he answered. Emelia stood there for a while thinking about something only she knows "wow my bo….hahaha you will be a wonderful husband to your wife" Emelia said trying to cover up their secret.
On ther other hand, Beatrice has seen through their facade and also played along "definitely, the woman who get to marry Vincent is the luckiest".
Two hours later, dinner was ready and all the family have gathered around the table including Emelia and except Claudia. With the warm environment, she couldn't help but smile while she kept staring at the empty seat beside Jae Won's right side.
"Who sits here?" She asked but jealousy Jae Won acted as though he didn't hear her and kept on eating his food prepared by his favorite person.
"It's Claudia, she is at the hospital with her friend and she will be sleeping over for the weekend" Christiana answered her with a smile that warms heart.
Samuel who was sitting at the left side of Jae Won moved a little closer to Jae Won's ears and whispered "jealousy is indeed working here hahahha....ouch" the sound that escaped from Samuel's mouth after Jae Won smacked his head grasping the attention of the rest of the family.
With all their questionable look Jae Won decided to answer before the storm arrives. Jae Won laughs nervously "we were playing….that's why".
"So have you settled in well" Mr Jonathan finally spoke after a while as he tried to get close to Vincent's friend.
He suspected her to be he girlfriend but before they opens up to him he thought of not saying anything.
"Yeah, I did. Beatrice helped me settled in" Emelia answered, her voice shaky as she was so nervous meeting her father in law to be. Don't judge her, she is thinking ahead for the future.
"Beatrice? But where was Vincent?" He asked as he turned to glare at his son who didn't even bother to welcome his girlfriend.
"Oh he was not here when I came. And in fact I wasn't sure I could come today that was why" Emelia said trying to help her boyfriend from getting scolded.
"So how do you feel about the mansion and also about the internship?" Mrs Gladys asked. Emelia who had just stuffed her mouth with the food coughed a little as she tried to swallow the food to be able to answer her future mother in law ended up coughing so bad as the food had passed in the wrong pipe.
"So sorry. I shouldn't have asked.. so sorry dear" Mrs Gladys said as he picked the glass of water closer to her and gave it to Emelia to help her with the cough.
A few minutes later, everything was back to normal and Emelia answered the question Mrs Gladys asked. She was very impressed by Emelia's answer and couldn't help but smiled at her while nodding.
"You are a smart woman. No wonder you were picked to intern at our company" Mr Jonathan said.
Jae Won who was left out of the discussion was so jealous he picked up his phone and texted Charles.
"What will you be doing tomorrow?" Jae Won sent the message as he waited for a reply but none.
Vincent too was pulled into the conversation but didn't forget to stare at Jae Won every now and then as he got curious to know who he just texted.
He also noticed that he kept staring at his phone every seconds as if he was waiting for something.
Vincent tried to involve Jae Won into the conversation but he managed to always distance himself.
Vincent felt weird as his chest was tightening like his chest was being tied by a rope and it increased when he saw the smile on Jae Won's face after he received what he was waiting for.
Jae Won immediately tap on the message when Charles sent them and it read
"Sorry dear, I was in the shower and didn't see your message. I would go to work tomorrow for the afternoon shift".
Jae Won smiled as he saw the message and he immediately sent a reply
"Can I come over your place tomorrow morning. I'm trying to get away from something if you don't mind".
"Of course I don't mind when it comes to you. Is everything okay?" Charles replied as he got worried over the last text Jae Won sent.
"Yeah, I am will tell you when I'm ready" Jae Won replied making Charles less worried for now but he was still worried.
As the notification kept ringing on Jae Won's phone in and out he couldn't help as Vincent curiosity skyrocketed to the top and had to ask.
"Who are you texting?" Vincent asked making the rest turned to look at him. Jae Won nervously replied "uur I'm texting Charles. Why is there a problem?" Jae Won asked.
"How is Charles by the way? Tell him to come visit us sometimes, we miss him" Mrs Gladys said. Emelia on the other was confused on who Charles was.
She had to asked who this person was as he managed to get Vincent irritated at the mention of his name "who is Charles?" She asked.
"Oh he is my close friend and the one who saved my life too" Jae Won answered.
Vincent, "...."
Emelia, "seriously?"
