Chapter 79 - World Nuclear Peace

"Roar." Upon seeing Tohka, this guy, provoked into a frenzy, recklessly lunged at her.

"Tch, looking for death." Seeing the reckless charge, Tohka kicked him straight to the ground.

Then she drew her greatsword and pinned him to the floor, before bending down to get a closer look at the guy.

"Oh, I thought you were a mutant. Turns out you're just a vampire. This world is really messed up."

She reached out and tapped his teeth, and despite being pinned to the ground, the guy showed no signs of dying.

He even bit her hand—but his expression changed dramatically soon after.

Because when Tohka had tapped his fangs, she had already coated her hand with spiritual energy, so when he bit down, it was like biting into steel, causing a few of his large white teeth to break.

That finally shut him up. He stared at Tohka with a bit of fear.

"Forget it, I came out to have fun. I don't want to get dragged into this crap."

Gotta admit, vampires have impressive vitality. Plus, Tohka didn't attack his vital points or release her spirit energy, so despite looking bloody and miserable, he was actually fine.

So, Tohka pulled out her greatsword, kicked the guy away, and walked out the door on her own.

As for the crowd behind them, they didn't even notice Tohka. And even if they did, what could they do? It was broad daylight—chasing after her would be pure suicide.

"Hey, this is Director Nick Fury, right?"

As soon as she stepped out, Tohka donned her armor and contacted Director Nick Fury. After all, she hadn't seen anything about these guys in the news before.

So asking Nick Fury was clearly the best move—this was his department, after all.

"What's up? Why are you suddenly contacting me today?"

Seeing Tohka on the other end, Nick Fury was quite surprised. After all, she usually didn't reach out to him.

"So, I ran into some vampires today. What's going on?"

Tohka got straight to the point—she couldn't be bothered with small talk.

"What about them? They wouldn't be dumb enough to provoke you on purpose, right?"

Hearing Tohka's words, Nick Fury was momentarily stunned. He hadn't expected her to ask about this, as those guys usually kept a low profile.

"Nothing much, just saw two groups of vampires go full martial arts mode while I was having a meal. Ruined my appetite, so I left."

"Alright, don't worry about it. They're not capable of causing any real trouble."

Hearing this, Nick Fury breathed a sigh of relief. He was worried Tohka might act impulsively and start a fight with them.

"Okay, I'm hanging up then."

From this, Tohka more or less understood the vampires' current situation—not doing all that great.

But what piqued her interest was that if there were vampires, Blade must be around too.

As for whether they had as much influence as in the movies—Tohka wasn't sure.

But it didn't seem like it. There were just too many superpowers and high-tech weapons around—and vampires had way too many weaknesses.

And with the mutants currently lying low, the vampires probably wouldn't dare act out too much either.

Take that restaurant she went to earlier—it was clearly a legitimate business, otherwise Tony wouldn't have gone there to eat.

"Forget it. Jarvis, find me another restaurant in a nearby town."

"Why do I feel like a walking disaster magnet? Wherever I go, something goes down."

Muttering this, Tohka flew off again, leaving the town behind.

She didn't care how bad the fight would get inside—let them handle their own mess.

Probably just some vampire clan feud. That sort of thing was common among them.

The important thing was that while she was in the shop, neither side had made a move on her.

Luckily, this time Tohka didn't run into any weirdness and got to enjoy her meal peacefully.

After that, she even took a flight around half the U.S., just for fun.

Of course, that didn't mean nothing happened.

She ended up, just like Tony, barging into restricted airspace and military bases.

More chaos and commotion ensued.

Luckily, the public already knew who she and Tony were, so the military just issued a warning.

They told her to leave the area on her own—no planes were dispatched to intercept her.

Otherwise, the next day's papers would have to explain another "training accident."

Of course, in the end, Tony would have to pay for any downed jets.

"Mmm, what a pleasant day."

After wandering around all day, Tohka returned to her home.

Even though she'd run into vampires, it hadn't dampened her mood.

It just gave her a deeper understanding of this world.

As for the legendary Dracula—Tohka wasn't interested.

No way he was the same as the Vlad the Impaler from the TYPE -MOON World... probably.

These past few days, Tohka had finally enjoyed a rare stretch of peace—but it only lasted a few days, because something new happened again today.

At noon, while napping on her desk in class, Tohka was suddenly awakened by a surge of psychic energy.

She sat up, surprised to find that her classmates—even including little Spidey—had lost the light in their eyes for a moment before returning to normal.

They then went back to what they were doing, as if nothing had happened.

"What the heck is Charles doing... wait, what is that?"

At that moment, Tohka ignored all the shocked stares in the classroom.

She didn't even put on her armor—just flew straight out the window.

She had just sensed several dense, terrifying energy signatures.

They were unlike anything she had ever encountered, and completely devoid of life.

Only human-made weapons could give off this kind of vibe.

"Oh my god, this time things have really gotten out of hand."

Rapidly ascending, Tohka reached beyond the atmosphere in just moments.

As for whether space would be dangerous—Tohka didn't even think about it.

After all, Yatogami Mukuro was literally a spirit of the cosmos.

She might not be as good as her, but hanging around in space for a while was no issue.

But right after that, her attention was caught by the scene before her.

Because just beyond the atmosphere, terrifying explosions were erupting one after another.

These explosions looked different from those on Earth—but Tohka still recognized what they were: nuclear bombs.
