Ronin threw his gun aside as Cain charged forward. This wouldn't be a gunfight anymore. Bullets or punches. They really made no difference.
The hallway shook beneath the massive man's steps. The steel beam cut through the smoke, and Ronin barely saw the first swing coming.
He ducked beneath it, just barely dodging the beam. It crashed into a metal prison cell behind him, metal against metal sending a high-pitched screech through the air.
Ronin countered with a punch using his good hand. The impact landed directly on the side of Cain's burned face.
His head snapped to the side from the impact, but he didn't go down.
Instead, Cain grabbed Ronin by the shoulders and slammed him through the nearest door. The impact cracked the frame and sent Ronin sprawling across the tile.
Cain stalked after him in silence, dragging the steel beam behind him.
The door was still on its hinges. Ronin kicked it closed just as Cain reached the doorway.
It bought him one, maybe two seconds.
