Chapter 5 - Evos

Many questions came to the mind of Icarus, but the most pressing was, "What the hell is this kid talking about?

Icarus came to scout Akram for Evos. He was looking for opportunity, whether that be for resources or for manpower to add to Evos's forces, he did not know much. All he knew was that the country was considered a barbaric land filled with meat heads that fought with low levels of technology. Now this weird kid was saying a bunch of stuff he had never heard of before.

After thinking things over, he came to the conclusion that although Evos prided itself on knowledge they didn't know everything.

"So kid, I have a request, please tell me everything you know about Akram." Icarus pleaded.

Reon considered the question then replied.

"I don't know much as I haven't been here long as I said, but I'll share what I know."

Both Icarus and Reon were seated now, as Icarus paid close attention to Reon.

"Akram, this country that my father originates from, is a country of warriors. The strongest rule here, and disagreements are often decided by duels.

Akram's culture, which is quite combat focused, has enabled the country to become one of the most polarizing forces on the continent.

Although Akram is medium-sized for a country at around 3 to 4 million people it still is considered one of the most powerful countries in the known world.

That is most of what I know about Akram, and it is for those reasons that I have decided to come here to stake my claim."

"Stake your claim? What do you mean? Icarus asked out of curiosity. He was greatly satisfied now that he was learning some new information about Akram as this was his main goal.

"I've come here to become acknowledged as a great warrior, and once I do I will return home and tell my family about my journey." Reon smiled.

Icarus couldn't help but notice similarities in his and Reon's reasons for coming to this country, although there were obviously stark differences as well.

"Well, I'm here for something similar." Icarus smiled at the boy.

"Really?" Reon got excited. "Should we spar then?"

"Uhm, well, I don't know." Icarus was a little startled by the boy's enthusiasm to suddenly request a spar. He felt it was not a good idea. He was one of the elite soldiers of Evos, he trained for years and rose through the ranks. Part of this of course was martial arts.

Evos martial arts was special as it was a combination of different techniques across time that was designed to efficiently neutralize all targets. All reconnaissance men like Icarus were trained to at least black belt in Evos martial arts. He didn't think it was fair to fight a young boy.

"But, I'll tell you what kid, since you helped me alot by telling me about Akram, I will let you in on a secret.

Far far away to the east, is my country of Origin, Evos, the most technologically advanced country in the world. In Evos there are buildings called skyscrapers that go high into the sky touching the clouds, there are even ships called aircrafts that… "

Icarus continued to tell Reon about Evos, who he was, and his mission here.

"Wow!" Reon was amazed by all of the wonders that Icarus described, Evos the most scientifically advanced civilization, Reon took note of this as he did not want to forget.

"So you are a special agent who is here to find out as much as possible about this country and then report back to Evos." Reon asked.

"Yup, and now I know a bit more than when I arrived, thanks to you." Icarus responded

"Hmm." Reon looked down at his fist as if he was contemplating something.

"I've decided, Icarus, please take me to Evos, I must see this nation for myself." Reon said decidedly.

"What?!" Icarus was confused. "I thought you were here to become a great warrior, now you want to go to Evos?"

"Yes, although I do intend to be acknowledged by this nation, the things you told me about sounded incredible. To go so far away and see such things would be an adventure worthy of telling my family when I return home." Reon finished.

"Well, I," Icarus thought about it, and Evos was looking for man power and this kid did already have a drive he could see to become strong, but to take him to Evos, he wasn't sure.
