Chapter 231 - Possibility and Reaction

Rope stroked his chin and looked at the Pokémon in front of him with a somewhat odd expression.

Kaedenatsu looked at his face and asked curiously, "What, not satisfied?"

Rope immediately shook his head at his words.

"No, you've done a good job breeding them all from the extent of the breeding."

Kaedenatsu was even more puzzled, "Then why do you look so odd?"

Rope frowned, pursed his lips, and clenched his teeth before asking with a complicated face that had a toothache, "Do you recognize this Pokémon?"

Rope asked, pointing at a Pokémon with three large syringes on its head and an overall wasp-like appearance.

Kaedenatsu frowned as he looked at the Pokémon that Rope was pointing at, then shook his head, "Don't recognize this Pokémon, but this little guy was injured earlier and then came to me to recuperate."

Saying this, the wasp-like Pokémon floated over to Kaedenatsu's side and greeted him with a smile.

Kaedenatsu smiled and interacted with it, poking his face and moving his head.

Then Kaedenatsu asked suspiciously, "Rope, do you recognize this Pokémon?"

At that comment, Rope felt even more toothache. After all...this Pokémon really shouldn't appear here right now. If it appeared, it would be proof that the world was already about to start a riot.

But the riots hadn't been heard moving, and he had appeared instead...

More to the point...should he say he recognized it, or didn't he?

He was pretty sure that no one knew this Pokémon yet, and no one would even know his real name for a long time...

Code name "UB Adhesive".

Real name Poipole.

And it's in yellow and white shiny...

"Of course I don't recognize it either! How did you get this Pokémon... No, if you encounter a Pokémon you don't recognize, shouldn't you report it to the League and report it?"

Rope was speechless...if he really said that he knew this Pokémon, he would have a big problem if he recognized a Pokémon that had never appeared before.

That in itself is a very bizarre thing.

And this Pokémon is also the Ultra Beast that may appear later and cause a lot of trouble to humans...that's a big problem.

That's your Rope ingredient everyone will have to ponder over.

But put it this way...

Rope's face was calm but her eyes unconsciously became sharp as she looked at Kaedenatsu.

Compared to herself, this seemingly normal woman in front of her was the one who was truly abnormal, right?

Rope had just felt that there were a lot of doubts. She just didn't think about it on her own.

Now that I think about it, there are still a lot of questions that can be found in the woman in front of me, such as not knowing about that easy backpack and the Poipole in front of her.

"So do you want to take this little one along on your trip?"

Kaedenatsu asked as she teased the little one before opening her mouth without looking at Rope.

"...Won't you be reluctant to part with it? If you submit this little guy's information and data upwards, with the merit of discovering a new species of Pokémon, there's absolutely no problem for you to directly become a senior researcher."

Rope didn't answer her question head-on, but instead asked in return.

After all, when all was said and done, the highest status professions in this world were still trainers and researchers. Senior Breeders still couldn't compare to Researchers in terms of academic status and social standing.

There would be a chain of contempt for everything. Even everyone had a contempt chain of their own in their hearts.

"Not much interest." Kaedenatsu frankly shook his head and said, "I just want these little guys to find their most suitable owners, including this Poipole."

Kaedenatsu said as he pointed at the Poipole beside him.

Rope's heart steeples...

"...You know his name???"

Kaedenatsu looked back at Rope with a puzzled face, "Didn't you say that you haven't seen this kind of Pokémon before? Since it's a new breed, as the discoverer, even if I don't intend to trade this little guy for any merit, I still have the right to give him a name, right?"

"Poisonous attributes and likes to call 'Poi poi'. Looks like a big-headed kid too, so I think it's good to call him Poipole then."

Kaedenatsu looked natural, with even a maternal glow on her face.

But Rope just felt odd.

It was true that there could be coincidences in the world. But it's hard to accept such a coincidence when it's placed on a human being.

"As good as you think it is."

Rope could only shrug. He'd also gotten his emotions out of his system a little while ago. His powers hadn't detected a hint of hostility from Kaedenatsu towards himself. But neither could Kaedenatsu be dispatched to prevent others from reading his mind.

Taking a step back, even if it was true that Kaedenatsu really had a problem. Even if Kaedenatsu did have a problem, it wouldn't be here...

There were four or five other children in the house behind him...

And...

Rope glanced at the other Pokémon around him... Pidgey, Totodile, Turtwig, and even a Goomy! ...

Some of the Pokémon here not only have excellent races, but their own nurturing status is also noteworthy. Some of the Pokémon here are not only of excellent races, but are also in excellent breeding condition, so they would be willing to be handed over to advanced trainers or even dojo masters, not to mention novice Pokémon.

Having such a Breeding House would be absolutely great for the children of Pallet Town.

Thinking about it this way...Rope suddenly understood why Professor Oak would be willing to keep this suspiciously shaped Breeding House.

"Hey, you, can you answer other people's questions first!"

Kaedenatsu said as he looked at Rope in dissatisfaction.

Rope snapped back to his senses, then scratched the back of his head in embarrassment, "Sorry, sorry, I got sidetracked again. What did you just say?"

Kaedenatsu gave Rope a nice and flirtatious blank stare and said, "I said do you want to go on a trip with Poipole. He seems to like you quite a bit from what I can see."

Rope looked at Poipole and then perceived a hint of curiosity in Poipole's eyes, but also a hint of awe present.

It was unknown where it came from though. But Rope just got the feeling that Kaedenatsu was talking with his eyes wide open...

Poipole clearly has no intention of getting close to herself...

But trying to say no...Poipole ugh!

It was still glittery!

Although Poipole's racial value didn't reach the level of a Paragon. But Ultra Beast's Fae Boost trait is really great!

So you're saying Rope isn't interested in Poipole at all? That's bullshit.

But Rope also had to consider how he would be able to handle himself once Ultra Beast invaded after this Pokémon was brought out?

Thus, Rope was stuck in thought.

Kaedenatsu looked at Rope, who had gone into thought rather than gone off on a tangent, and slowly shook her head; after all, the two were actually the same in terms of outlook...

She rubbed Poipole's face. A glimmer of gloom flickered in her eyes...

——————————————

In the Oak Institute.

It had only been about two hours since the breakfast for Rope had been served. But it was already tangentially time for lunch.

At the table, Red, Blue, and Professor Oak sat together. Since it was a round table, there wasn't really much to the seating.

Daisy and Whitley were preparing the meal in the kitchen at the moment.

"Red, you made Rope go to 'Kaedenatsu's hut'?"

Blue said with a frown.

Red nodded as he munched on the small pre-dinner fruit on the table, "Rope said he was missing a Pokémon, and then I referred him there. Despite Kaedenatsu's unknown origins, all the Pokémon she has there are still pretty good."

Blue nodded, there was no denying that. Even as a person of breeding, Blue still had to admit that the girl named Kaedenatsu had a knack for breeding Pokémon.

But...

"I'm still worried that between the two of her or Rope, someone will suffer..."

Blue's face looked slightly embarrassed.

"Hahaha, looks like Blue really cares about Kaedenatsu!"

Professor Oak laughed out loud.

Blue then reacted to the fact that he now had a gossipy grandfather by his side.

"Don't add to the confusion, Grandpa. You know what I mean...I'm worried that if that girl named Kaedenatsu is really a problem, they could be on Pallet Town right now..."

Blue said as he helplessly held his forehead.

Red also smiled and shook his head.

As a close friend he knew best, Blue really hadn't run into a favorite girl right now. He was also mostly wary of Kaedenatsu.

Professor Oak knew that, of course. It was only to poke fun at his own grandson. Ever since Rope had arrived, the arrogance in Blue's body had tightened up little by little, eventually becoming just a bit cold like it was now.

"Don't worry, I've met with this little girl Kaedenatsu as well. She has a very kind character. But, it's a pity..."

Professor Oak said with some emotion, "One can actually see gloom and darkness in such clean eyes. This world is really too much."

Blue and Red looked at each other. Both saw the disbelief in the other's eyes.

"You two little guys, you still don't have enough experience, it's only natural that you don't understand."

Professor Oak's face carried the unique pride of an old man.

"So that child is actually very kind ah, still able to face life with enthusiasm after encountering something bad. That's a precious quality in itself."

"And such a kind child shouldn't have any conflicts with Rope. After all, these two people's compatibility is still good in my opinion."

——————————————

"I'm willing to go out on a trip with Poipole, but I'm going to have to go back and talk to Professor Oak and the others about Poipole...you haven't told them, have you?"

Rope pondered for a moment, then said.

"No, I haven't been talking to Professor Oak and the others about Poipole. But it shouldn't be a problem for you to come and say it. Better take me out of it."

Kaedenatsu said just as rather seriously.

Rope nodded seriously, "That's it for now then, you say a proper goodbye to Poipole, and also let Poipole do a mental preliminaries. I'll go back and discuss this with Professor Oak and the others first."

Kaedenatsu thinks for a moment...and after a few moments nods, "Okay, then. Will you come this afternoon or..."

"I'll come back tomorrow."

With that Rope turned and opened the door before turning back to Kaedenatsu, "Can I ask a question?"

Kaedenatsu tilted his head in confusion, not knowing what Rope was planning to ask, but still said with alacrity, "Just ask, I'll answer as long as I can."

Rope looked at Kaedenatsu who looked serious and had eyes as clear as diamonds in the sun.

"Why do you trust me so much?"

This was the point where Rope was most puzzled. If you have reservations when facing a kindly old man like Professor Oak. Why be so open to him who was young and still had the time and energy to fulfill his ambitions?

Poipole's a big secret to her, too, isn't it...

Kaedenatsu answered the question with a lack of half-hearted hesitation.

"Your flame is clean." Kaedenatsu's face was serious and natural, "One of the cleanest flames I've ever seen, so I think you can be trusted."

Rope somewhat understood what Kaedenatsu meant.

The burning of flames actually depended on the heart.

It was as if they all seemed to be red flames, but the red flames on Rope, and on Charizard and the others would all be different.

The Charizard's red flames are all very strong. So vigorous that they hardly ever weaken. And it doesn't change much. And it has explosive properties.

And Arcanine's flames seem more introspective, but once they burn at full force, they can only be described as wild.

The amount of flames on Entei's body was large, imposing, and powerful. It had a great deal of power over others.

Chimchar's flames were the strongest. That was why he was able to coalesce his own flaming baguette, and it had a bizarre combination of hardness and flexibility.

And the flames on Gastly's body weren't just red flames. Rather, it was a purple-black flame. It burns unceasingly and is sinister and silent.

As for what kind of flame Poipole would be after he was taken in?Rope didn't know either...

"Alright, I understand. I'll get back to you as soon as possible."

"Alright, you go back first, I won't keep you for dinner."

————————————

On the way, Rope was still thinking about where Kaedenatsu came from.

Not being from Pallet Town still chose to come to Pallet Town to open Breeding House...stressful or not for one thing, it was kind of a slap in the face to a bunch of old timers. After all, a lot of the old timers didn't have the guts to come here and set up store and then get scrutinized by Professor Oak.

Kaedenatsu...very strange one then.

After a while, Rope returned to the Oak Institute and walked straight to the dining room of the main house.

"Rope is back! Just in time, come and eat."

Daisy carried her plate and saw the returning Rope then smiled.

Rope smiled and responded, "Guessed it was dinnertime so I came back for a quick bite."

Then with a big grin she found a seat then smiled, "That Breeding House in Kaedenatsu is pretty interesting. But PROFESSOR have you looked up where Kaedenatsu came from?"

Professor Oak had a 'I guessed you'd ask that question' expression on his face, then said, "I've looked it up.There's this person in League's registry file.Born in the Johto area, he was originally orphaned, and was adopted by one of Johto's Pokémon schools by a Pokémon School in Johto, and was adopted by a teacher. After the teacher's death, he went on to cultivate his own family. Over the years, she has also become a little known as a talented Breeder girl."

Rope frowned, "Is that all?"

Professor Oak smiled lightly and nodded, "That's all."
