Chapter 181 - Chapter 181: Gwen Called the Wrong Name

"Gwen, you're very smart! I really like her!" Tony said after taking a sip, looking at her with appreciation. This girl was truly the perfect match for Peter Parker—intelligent, emotionally mature, gentle, and considerate. She wasn't afraid of danger and was willing to stand by Peter's side. There were too few girls like her.

"Yeah! Who doesn't like her?" Banner agreed while sliding through the holographic projection in front of him. "Hey! Stop drinking and help me with this!"

Banner shouted at Tony, prompting him to put down his glass and respond, "Okay!"

"How about this? Is it feasible?" Banner asked.

"Hmm... I think this is better!" Tony tapped his fingers on the interface, making some adjustments.

"Good!" Banner examined the modified structure, nodding in satisfaction.

"That Peter must not be paying attention in class!" said the first Uncle Ben, chuckling as he spoke to Aunt May.

"I wonder if our Peter is paying attention in class?" Aunt May mused, glancing at the 1st Gen Spider-Man.

"Yeah! Of course, I listened carefully! I even won a science award, Aunt May!" The 1st Gen Spider-Man quickly defended himself. There was no way he'd admit to being inattentive in class. Instead, he proudly brought up the awards he had won in Spider-Man 1!

"That's good! I just hope I won't see you on the screen one day, showing as much ignorance of science as the second generation!" teased the first Uncle Ben.

"Oh!" 1st Gen Spider-Man shrugged helplessly. He made a mental note to review his scientific knowledge—he couldn't afford to embarrass himself!

[Flight PNA273, on its way to New York, had no idea what was happening in the city. The crew repeatedly tried to contact air traffic control, but there was no response. Everything on their end was functioning normally, yet they remained cut off from communication.]

[The city was dark, with police officers dispatched everywhere to maintain order. "Don't panic! Everyone, please return to your vehicles! Stay calm and remain seated!"]

[Peter carried Gwen through the crowded streets, which were filled with honking cars and panicked citizens. Police officers were working hard to keep the situation under control.]

[They continued shouting through their loudspeakers: "Stay calm! Everyone, return to your cars and head home!"]

[Peter approached a police officer. "Officer!" he called out. The officer turned around in surprise, then immediately blurted out, "Spider-Man!!!"]

["Oh!!!" Peter was startled by the officer's amplified voice and quickly covered his ears.]

[Gwen quickly introduced herself, "My father is Captain George Stacy of the 19th District!"]

[Hearing this, the officer nodded in recognition. He understood that Spider-Man wouldn't have come to him with Gwen unless it was important. "I know who he is! What do you need?"]

["Jumper cables!" Gwen said immediately.]

["Jumper cables?" The officer looked at Gwen in confusion.]

["Yes! And pure copper wires!" she confirmed with a determined nod.]

[Peter turned to Gwen and asked loudly, "Am I speaking louder than usual right now?"]

["Yes!" Gwen frowned, rubbing her ears. Meanwhile, the officer observed their interaction with surprise, quickly realizing their close relationship.]

[Soon after, the police retrieved what Gwen had requested and set up a jumper on a police car's battery.]

["Your suit will conduct electricity to the ground!"]

["Okay! Let's do this!" Peter nodded quickly.]

[As Gwen clamped the spider-web shooter with the wire clip, a small spark flashed, successfully magnetizing it.]

["Okay! Good! Try it! Quick, quick, quick!" Gwen encouraged. She took a key from her pocket and placed it near the web shooter. Immediately, the keychain was drawn toward it.]

["Very good! It works! Great!" Peter was pleased.]

["And that's why you only got second place on the exam!" Gwen teased with a smirk.]

["Same old story! Alright then!", "Haha!"]

[As they chatted, a billboard suddenly came crashing down with a loud bang. Peter's expression turned serious. "I have to go!"]

["I'll go with you!" Gwen insisted, stepping forward. But Peter immediately shut that idea down.]

["No way! It's too dangerous!" he rejected firmly.]

["I have to go! I'm with you! I've read the instructions for the power grid—I know how to restart the system! You need me!!!"]

[Peter initially shook his head, but seeing Gwen's determination, he sighed, covering her mouth as if agreeing. "Alright, shut up, you can come with me. Just zip it!"]

[He pointed at the hood of a car. The moment Gwen reached out to touch it, Peter shot a web, sticking her hand to the car's surface!]

["Sorry! I love you! Don't hate me!" With that, he swung away on his web, leaving Gwen behind.]

[Gwen watched Peter vanish into the distance and immediately grew anxious. Instinctively, she shouted, "Peter!!!" But as soon as she realized what she had done, she clapped a hand over her mouth.]

[Inside the hospital, a doctor hurriedly called out, "We still don't have a backup generator! Get an engineer here!"]

["I need a ventilator immediately!" Another doctor looked at a struggling patient. Aunt May overheard and quickly offered, "It's battery-powered! I'll get it for you! Right away!"]

[She rushed to retrieve the ventilator without hesitation.]

"Hahaha! That was adorable! Gwen totally called out Peter's real name subconsciously! Hahaha!" Otto laughed, watching the scene unfold on the screen.

"Peter really went to great lengths to deceive her, keeping her there just to ensure her safety," Rose said with admiration.

"Gwen!!!" In the present, Gwen glared at Peter. How dare he trick her like that!

Seeing her angry expression, Peter immediately panicked and blurted out, "Sorry! Baby! I was wrong! I swear I won't do it again next time!"

"Gwen, Peter did this for your own good!" George Stacy spoke up in Peter's defense. As a father, he understood why Peter wanted to keep Gwen out of danger.

"Dad! I'm Spider-Man too!" Gwen protested, looking at George with dissatisfaction. Then she noticed Peter nodding in agreement, which only made her glare at him even more.

"There won't be a next time! And you definitely can't trap me like that again!" Gwen huffed.

Helen brought the food to the table with a warm smile. Peter immediately stepped forward to help, using the opportunity to escape Gwen's wrath.

"May! Looks like you're doing a great job!" Uncle Ben said, smiling as he turned to Aunt May. He hadn't expected that she would truly be working in the hospital.

"Yeah! As long as I can help, that's all that matters!" Aunt May smiled back. They were also having dinner, keeping the meal simple since Peter had gone to Gwen's house.
