Chapter 20 - Chapter 19 Demon Beast Magic

Yun Sheng's experience in battling Demon Beasts was pitifully scarce.

Before she went into the mountains, she had specifically inquired from an old hunter in the village, gaining some experience in handling encounters with Demon Beasts.

If she encountered a First-tier Demon Beast, she could capture it using a hunting trap.

If she encountered a Second-stage Demon Beast, she should combine hunting traps and personal abilities to capture it.

If she encountered a Third-tier Demon Beast, unless there was a Magician or a Martial Master Level powerhouse present, there was no need to think about anything; three words: run for your life.

Fortunately, there were not many Demon Beasts in the mountains, and the Golden Rhinoceros Pig was considered one of the most troublesome kinds.

Female Golden Rhinoceros Pigs were different from males; male Golden Rhinoceros Pigs were like martial artists among humans, proficient in violent charging.

The female Golden Rhinoceros Pig, unlike the males, was smaller in size, yet very proficient in magic, especially proficient in Earth Magic – the Shock Wave.

Yun Sheng always made thorough preparations.

When she had previously inquired about the information on Demon Beasts, she did not expect to rely on this experience for adventure; it was just to be prepared for all eventualities. She never imagined that she would be so unlucky as to face two Third-tier Golden Rhinoceros Pigs.

Being naturally cautious and not reckless, she went to rescue the village youths not out of a show of strength, but because she knew that the little Wild Boar had fallen into her trap, and that the blood on it must have attracted the two Wild Boars. If those village youths died because of this, it would be the same as dying because of her.

When Yun Sheng rushed back, she saw a Wild Boar the size of a calf blocking the mountain path.

The two Golden Rhinoceros Pigs, one male, and one female, were about the size of adult water buffaloes in the village, covered in shiny black fur, with two long and sharp fangs protruding from their snouts, powerful limbs leaving a trail of deep hoof prints.

These two Wild Boars were also cunning; they seemed to realize that the youths before them were no match for them.

The female Wild Boar stayed by the side of the little Wild Boar, which had fallen into an inexplicable coma, anxiously licking the little Wild Boar non-stop.

On the tusks of the male pig, blood was still dripping, presumably the hole in Ai Meng's leg was the doing of this male pig.

All these people were descendants of hunter families, and their skills did not match up to Lei Hu. Fortunately, there was only one Wild Boar; though they were no match, by combining the strength of several people, they could still catch their breath. However, as they saw their energy draining and Lei Hu not returning, everyone was utterly exhausted.

The Golden Rhinoceros Pig was truly the tyrant of the mountains, its strength seemed inexhaustible.

It targeted one of the youths, inserting its tusks under the youth's belly and lifting them high into the air.

Seeing the youth about to fall, an opening appeared in the chest area. If the youth fell, they would certainly be impaled by the two tusks.

"Beast," seeing this, Yun Sheng gritted her teeth and scattered a handful of Beast Bone Needles toward the Golden Rhinoceros Pig.

The Golden Rhinoceros Pig was notorious for its thick hide; a few Beast Bone Needles couldn't penetrate its thick skin, but Yun Sheng aimed with remarkable precision. Although the needles didn't injure the bones, they caused some pain and successfully diverted the Wild Boar's attention.

The Wild Boar had not expected to overlook someone, and with a twist of its eyes, it viciously glared at the frail Yun Sheng.

Yun Sheng repeated her trick, leading the male Wild Boar towards the mountain path where the hunting trap was set.

But two legs couldn't outrun four; the Golden Rhinoceros Pig, frequently moving through the mountains, traversed the rugged mountain roads like a tank, crushing everything in its path, breaking even small shrubs with its powerful body.

Yun Sheng eyed the direction, feigning a dodge past two hunting traps.

But who knew, the Wild Boar stepped directly onto a trap, and instantaneously shattered the hunting trap out of shape.

Damn it, these conventional hunting traps were completely useless.

Realizing something bad, Yun Sheng knew she had no way out.

Yun Sheng, hearing the footsteps drawing closer from behind, didn't even dare to look back.

There was a steep slope ahead, and just as Yun Sheng was about to rush down, she suddenly changed her steps and, like a little monkey, swiftly scrambled up a tree.

The wild boar, charging uncontrollably, rolled straight down the hill.

The unwieldy body of the wild boar tumbled down, letting out a series of enraged howls.

The wild boar, weighing no less than three hundred pounds, tried to climb out of a pile of dead leaves.

But just then, beneath it, the ground collapsed, and muddy bubbles began to emerge.

At the bottom of the slope was a seemingly bottomless pit of swamp gas.

In the depth of these old forests, with dead leaves accumulating and never seeing sunlight year-round, the decaying leaves and branches easily formed deadly swamps.

The hunters of Banana Leaf Village, relying on hundreds of years of hunting experience, had identified several of the most dangerous swamps around Thousand Beast Tomb Mountain, which Yun Sheng had memorized by heart and knew to avoid on her journey.

The Golden Rhinoceros Pig had been so blinded by anger that it had recklessly followed Yun Sheng.

The more frantically the wild boar struggled, the faster it sank, and in just a moment, the entire pig had sunk without a trace, leaving only a few bubbles behind.

Yun Sheng waited until the Golden Rhinoceros Pig had completely sunk before she climbed down from the tree, breathing heavily.

Luckily, she was clever and had already scouted that this section of the slope concealed a swamp.

Even a Third-tier Demon Beast would find death the only path if it encountered a large swamp and lacked wings.

One down, one more to go.

Yun Sheng touched the Bone Needles on her body; in her earlier panic, she had used quite a few, leaving her with not many anesthetic Bone Needles left.

Yun Sheng regretted that, while the anesthetic had a short paralyzing effect, it was clear that Beast Bone Needles were far too fragile for a large Demon Beast like the Golden Rhinoceros Pig.

The female Golden Rhinoceros Pig, protecting the piglets, would definitely not be lured away; her only option to kill it would be a battle of wits.

Yun Sheng took out the delicate scalpel, biting it in her mouth, and crept back stealthily.

Several young hunters lay on the ground, already unconscious.

The female Golden Rhinoceros Pig, suspicious, looked in the direction where Yun Sheng and the male Golden Rhinoceros Pig had disappeared.

Time had passed, and even the female Golden Rhinoceros Pig realized something was amiss; could it be that a girl who looked so tiny was more troublesome than several teenagers over ten years old?

At this moment, a rustling noise came from one side of the bushes.

The female Golden Rhinoceros Pig was on alert, it spread its limbs, and a flash of sharpness appeared in its eyes. A magic array of earthy yellow color emerged beneath its feet, and it stomped its limbs.

A dust cloud arose; the hard mountain ground transformed in an instant as if a calm lake was suddenly disturbed.

The ground turned into a lake with rising waves, a Shock Wave surged, swooshing toward the bushes.

This happened just as the female Golden Rhinoceros Pig launched its first Magic Attack.

A nondescript figure leaped down from a tree, like a hawk swooping down on its prey, and in a sudden motion, landed on the back of the female Golden Rhinoceros Pig.
