Hudson POV :
If I told you that there was another you that exists in our world , creating chaos for you and occasionally stopping by to watch a movie with your friends ....would you believe me ?
Enmei hung up her phone frustratedly, probably thinking that I was playing some kind of prank on her and I immediately called her back trying to explain but she didn't pick up the phone and so I decided to send her a text message.
" Hey , what's up ? Are you ok ?" Enmei's voice came from behind me but I already knew that the girl who was now standing behind me wasn't who I had thought she was.
" Yes I'm fine." I said as I tried to think of an excuse to leave with my sister.
The girl smiled at me creepily and I felt chills run down my spine. I thought about getting a knife out of kitchen drawers to as she walked away. Sometimes I still forget that I have powers.
I got the popcorn instead and walked back into the room to see my sister and the strange girl laughing to each other.
Hotaru didn't seem to be afraid of this girl so maybe she didn't intend to harm us. I sat on the couch beside the strange girl and Hotaru just focused on the movie that she'd been watching.
I know chilling with this imposter wasn't the smartest thing to do but I never pick a fight with someone who doesn't seem to want to fight me, plus she looks exactly like Enmei and I'd never pick a fight with someone who looks so much like my best friend....Also I don't hit girls.
Man , where the hell is Eros when I need him ? He'd punch this girl in her face without a second thought.
" Hudson! " I heard a distant voice shouting my name in frustration and I flinched and started looking around to see if I could tell where the voice was coming from.
" Did you hear something? " I asked Enmei's clone and she furrowed her brows at me.
" I didn't hear anything. " The fake Enmei said and then she turned to my sister, seeming as though she was looking for some kind of validation.
" I didn't hear anything either." Hotaru said and she smiled stiffly.
The tension between us grew and there was a moment of silence before I heard the voice again.
It was coming from the bathroom and it was my sister's voice. I started sweating and looked around anxiously.
How am I hearing my sister shouting from the bathroom if she's sitting right next to me.
" You guys don't hear that ?" I asked again ,and this time I was the one looking shocked and confused.
" Hear what ? " Hotaru asked finally removing her focus from the TV again.
The fake Enmei smiled and I got up immediately
" I'm going to the bathroom. " I said, putting down the popcorn and still sweating nervously and then I flashed to the bathroom.
" Where's the door ?" I asked in shock when I finally got to the bathroom and there was just a wall with no door where the bathroom used to be.
I heard Hotaru screaming in the bathroom and I used my power to walk through the wall to discover that my sister had been laying on the floor , wearing a pink dress with her hands and feet tied up by rope.
WHAT. THE. FUCK ?
" Help me. There's another me and she tried to kidnap me." My sister cried and I removed the rope from her feet as fast as I could but as I did my sister screamed more as she noticed something behind me.
I looked around to see the two other girls coming towards me with large blood stained swords.
" How cute." The fake Enmei said and a sinister grin covered her face.
" Give us the girl." The fake Hotaru shouted and her face morphed into that of some kind of dark monster before going back to normal mid sentence.
I grabbed my sister's arm and vanished with her. I teleported a couple blocks away and ran as fast as I could pulling her with me. Her feet had red marks on them where the rope had previously been tied.
What were those things and why are they after my sister ?
" Enmei.We have to go find Enmei.They might try to get her too. " Hotaru finally said with tears in her eyes and I realized that those clones had most likely been another set of aliens who were looking for Eros' love match.
" Don't worry , Sis . I won't let them take her. " I said and as I lifted my younger sister in my arm and jumped as high as I could I found myself staring at a group of monsters , that were headed towards us and destroying everything that was in their path.
I turned quickly and ran in the opposite direction using my super speed and as I glowed green with power and raced ahead I realized that I was cornered by large monsters coming from the other direction.
" There's no way it got this bad this quick." I said as I remembered Mr. Pierce who died in the game.
He was one of these things and it was only a few of them that time then there were a whole group and that little girl who tried to crush me and now all of these things are just running around destroying everything. The monsters gathered around the center of the city where there were small shops , a church and a hospital.
Buildings were falling and I felt like a small ant destined to be stepped on as I tried to figure a way out of this situation.
There were countless monsters infront of us , about twenty monsters behind us , and two narrow openings blocked by buildings on each side.
I could teleport but I didn't have full control over my powers yet and so teleporting could land me in another dangerous spot, considering the fact that I didn't know where all the monsters were.
I didn't want to use my powers on them because I knew these monsters could really be innocent humans.
In order to escape I needed to not only be extremely fast but I had to move at the right time and in a direction that they can't easily get to.
Upwards.
I'll fly upwards as soon as they are about to reach me.
" What are you waiting for ?" Hotaru asked scared , as I held on to her.
" Just trust me and close you eyes." I said and she hid her face into my chest.
At the speed that the monsters were moving , in each direction, my plan would only work if I moved at the right time.
When I move there must be enough time for me to escape completely and not enough time for them to react.
One second too fast or too slow and we'd become Monster food.
They rushed towards us and I watched closely then I flew upwards as fast as I could holding my sister in my arms and flying as high as I could.
As I looked back down I saw them run into each other and fall over, exactly like I planned. Their slow reaction to me moving upwards is what secured that we had enough time to escape.
Hotaru opened her eyes and as we flew higher above the buildings it became obvious that Earth was no longer the same.
" Hey, you got your little sister ." Venus' voice called after me from behind.
I stopped, turned around and stared at her, hoping and praying that she just wasn't just some psycho clone pretending to be Venus.
" What's the problem, Starboy ? Did Eros hurt your feelings. You're angry at your Master now and won't talk to me ?" Venus teased and I immediately flew towards her after realizing that she was definitely real.
I tried to talk to her but the words didn't want to come out.
Hotaru started crying before I could say anything and Venus tried to comfort her.
" It's gonna be ok. The monsters might be appearing rapidly but we aren't going to allow your planet to be destroyed." Venus reassured Hotaru and I sighed frustratedly.
We flew to the top of the highest building in the region and stood on the roof ,looking out at the chaos below us.
" Venus ,Hudson. I see you're out here enjoying the view. " Orion said, flying towards us and we both stared at the debris and rubble that was infront of us without saying a word.
Orion came closer and saw that my sister was crying.
" Can I hold you ?" He asked my sister and she held onto me tightly.
Orion flew around us and he glistened with magic. Hotaru stared at him.
" Do you want to be a fairy ? " He asked and she nodded. He extended his hand to her and she took it.
He lifted her onto his back and soared through the air with her , creating illusions of flowers and tiny little fishes for her as they flew around.
Orion's illusions served as a distraction from all the horror below and soon Hotaru managed to smile again. The colors of his illusions were bright and and the illusions were cute and silly.
Hotaru giggled as Orion flew around with her and she no longer seemed to be worried about monsters or the end of the world.
" He's really good with kids." I laughed and Venus smiled.
" He has a younger sister. She's still on our home Planet but I hear him talking to her every now and then. He'll definitely make a good Dad some day. " Venus smiled softly as we stayed on the roof and watched Orion entertaining Hotaru.
There was still something I wanted to ask Venus.
" About these monsters. Do you know - " I started to speak but she interupted me.
" I haven't gathered any information on what could be causing them. I think it's best for us to just treat them as monsters for now. No holding back just because they might be humans."
" I couldn't possibly kill an innocent person just because they've mutated. " I told Venus , knowing I didn't have it in me to be so cruel.
" That's why Eros will be by your side giving you the courage. " Venus said and I frowned.
" By giving me courage you mean manipulating me into doing things I don't want to ?"
" I'm just joking. By the way we've relocated to a less popular side of the town. You should bring Hotaru and Enmei to come live with us." Venus said , changing the subject of our conversation.
I nodded slowly, considering what she said.
" Orion bring Hotaru to base one. " Venus said after turning to look up at Orion as he played and laughed with my sister in the air.
Orion nodded.
Did he just steal my sister ?
"We should head back now. Eros will kill us if we don't go home tonight." Venus said and we started our journey to Base one.
Over the next few days buildings became piles of rubble, Monsters went on rampage , the Incubus hunted their prey in broad daylight and Zombies wondered around like lost souls and under severe pressure to survive the humans were turning against each other.
The Earth changed almost over night and the news reported irreparable damage and in the midst of the start of an inevitable apocalypse we still had to go to school.
