Inferon stood in the center, soaked, battered, and breathing hard.
His golden mane, once burning bright, now flickered weakly.
Every step he took made steam rise, but it was clear.
He was slowing down.
Across the arena, Brutaurus didn't slow at all.
The massive beast charged again.
It slammed into Inferon with its shoulder.
Sending the lion skidding backward across the flooded floor.

The lion tried to roar, but it came out ragged.
He jumped back, claws lit with fire, and swiped.
But Brutaurus blocked it with one arm.
It then used the other to slam Inferon into the ground.
Fiona's visor flashed red.
Vital signs dropping.
