Chapter 391 - Chapter 391 Daniel Drumm

Night time.

The stars twinkled above, and the moon hung high. The clouds that had gathered from Shazam thunderous attack slowly dissipated.

In a Brooklyn neighborhood.

An orange, sparkling circular portal appeared out of nowhere, capturing everyone attention.

Shockingly, the view through the portal was not another street in the neighborhood but the interior of a house, specifically a grand hall.

The hall was lined with antiques covered by glass domes.

However, these antiques appeared somewhat peculiar, as if imbued with magic, some even floated within their glass enclosures, moving as if sentient.

"What is that?"

"Who is that guy?"

At that moment, everyone gaze passed over the interior of the house and the strange antiques, focusing on the figure standing at the portal.

The man was clad in a sorcerer robe, his face resolute, his eyes looking towards the demon, filled with intense hostility.

Daniel Drumm.

Anton Shazam clone, along with Anton himself, sitting at home and sharing Shazam perspective, watching this scene, all had the same thought.

Just as the demon had said, this man was indeed Kamar-Taj guardian of the New York Sanctum.

According to the comic book setting, Daniel Drumm was actually the brother of Jericho Drumm, the Sorcerer Supreme.

Jericho, also a superhero, often summoned Daniel spirit to enhance his powers after Daniel death.

In the movie setting, this master of the New York Sanctum, Daniel Drumm, is a tragic minor character who is killed by the villain Kaecilius early on, without any chance to fight back.

Then, Dr. Strange naturally inherits the grand house of the New York Sanctum, along with all its magical items.

Speaking of which, it uncertain if Doctor Voodoo will appear in Doctor Strange 2.

If Doctor Voodoo appears, there might be a chance for Daniel to be temporarily resurrected, but given Marvel tendencies, it unlikely.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe already has enough characters, and the antagonist of Doctor Strange 2 is very likely to be his fellow disciple Mordo. There no need to waste time on a minor character like Daniel.

As these thoughts passed through Shazam mind, sensing the powerful aura emanating from Daniel, he was not particularly surprised.

As one of the three great sanctums of Kamar-Taj, the guardian of the New York Sanctum, Daniel Drumm might have died early in the film at the hands of Kaecilius, but that doesn't mean Daniel was weak it only shows how powerful Kaecilius was.

Kaecilius, having absorbed power from the Dark Dimension, had reached a peak level on Earth. Although The Ancient One death was somewhat suspicious, it undeniable that Kaecilius killed her.

If Doctor Strange had not had the Time Stone inherited from Kamar-Taj, he would have been powerless in that series of events.

Therefore, Daniel, who died at the hands of Kaecilius, shouldn't be considered weak.

At most, it could be said that he couldn't beat Kaecilius.

And that not surprising.

"It you, you damned sorcerer!"

The demon, in his clown incarnation, looked at Daniel Drumm stepping out of the spatial portal, his expression extremely ugly.

Daniel had blocked the surrounding space, preventing him from returning to Hell.

In other words, this was a death sentence for him.

Facing a guardian of the New York Sanctum, a master sorcerer, and a powerful magical superhero, the clown demon felt a genuine sense of despair.

"I've found you."

Daniel stared at the demon, his murderous intent unabated and obvious.

Then, turning to Shazam beside him, sensing the strong magical aura and the formidable power, he nodded slightly in surprise,

"Hello, Shazam, nice to meet you for the first time. I'm Daniel Drumm, the guardian of one of the three great sanctums of Kamar-Taj, the New York Sanctum."

"Hello."

Shazam nodded and smiled in response, "I've met the Sorcerer Supreme."

"Then you're very lucky."

Daniel shrugged.

The two completely ignored the demon in front of them, treating him as if he were just a passing dog, not worth their attention.

Naturally, this attitude infuriated the clown demon.

Even though he knew it was difficult to escape their onslaught, his pride as a demon, and his self-esteem as a supposedly superior being, did not allow him to be mocked by two humans.

"You fools, daring to thwart the lord plans. He will resurrect me and make you pay."

The demon roared.

The sound was deafening, with visible sound waves spreading in all directions.

However, ordinary people couldn't hear this deep, raspy roar at all, because the moment the sound exploded, these people rolled their eyes back and fainted.

Only three people remained unaffected.

Shazam, Daniel Drumm, and Al Simmons.

Simmons, also harboring demonic energy, seemed to empathize with the demon agony.

After all, he had been trained by the Demon Lord in hell and had become a pawn of the Demon Lord.

Though the Demon Lord couldn't directly decide his life or death, he could lead countless demons and demon soldiers in hell to put him in a dire situation.

Simmons had fully recalled his experiences in hell.

Pain!

Hatred!

Clenched teeth and perseverance!

This involuntarily brought a hint of murderous intent to Simmons eyes.

However, in the next moment, a gaze was cast upon him, causing Simmons body to jolt as if electrified.

He turned his head and saw that it was Shazam gaze.

Simmons immediately lowered his head, not daring to meet Shazam eyes.

"Stay put."

Shazam spoke indifferently.

Amid the demon roaring, his voice was unaffected, clear and audible.

"After I kill this demon, we'll discuss the issues with you."

"Did you hear that?"

Seeing that Simmons had not responded, Shazam tone suddenly became harsh, startling Simmons, who hurriedly replied.

"I heard, I heard!"

In the roaring, a giant clown demon leapt into the air and charged.

The fierce wind was chilling, and the hurricane howled.

With all its might, the clown demon easily broke a nearby lamppost and used it as a spear, ruthlessly aiming at Daniel Drumm.

Daniel, of course, wouldn't be so easily defeated by the demon.

He sprung from his feet, astonishingly levitating in mid-air, avoiding the clown demon attack.

But the ground couldn't avoid it it violently cracked and sunk as if an earthquake had arrived. The entire Brooklyn shook momentarily, then spiderweb-like cracks spread quickly across half the street.

Fortunately, the nearby residents were knocked out by the demon roar, so there was no one to scream or shout in panic.

Seeing this, Shazam and Daniel exchanged a glance, deciding to end the fight quickly to prevent the situation from getting out of control.

Mirror Space!

Daniel waved his hand, casting a big spell, using the Sling Ring to open another dimension and create a new battlefield, rapidly consuming magical power.

The space expanded.

The demon and Shazam both fell into Daniel Mirror Space.

Shazam raised an eyebrow slightly.

In this space, he could feel a pressure, though not strong, enough to show the power of the Mirror Space spell.

After all, in a sense, even the Ancient One was a staunch fan of the Mirror Space.

Regaining his composure, Shazam spread his hands, and his body gradually floated.

Zzzzzz!

Within the Mirror Space, countless bolts of lightning emerged from the void, zipping through the air.

With no external interference, Shazam could freely unleash his magical power.

In Shazam, what called magical power could also be described as divine power.

As a successor to the great sorcerer abilities, Shazam possessed the powers of six deities: Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury.

Among them, the source of divine power was Zeus.

As the king of the gods in Greek mythology, Zeus divine power was nearly infinite.

And conveniently, Shazam had inherited Zeus divine power.

As he unleashed his power, the entire Mirror Space began to tremble slightly, as if unimaginable spatial cracks were forming, and an unknown essence began to spread.

The demon face turned pale.

At the same time.

Daniel Drumm, who was maintaining the Mirror Space, also instantly noticed the changes within it. He stared blankly at Shazam, his impression of him greatly altered, and a look of horror spread across his face.

Daniel seemed to understand why the Supreme Sorcerer, the Ancient One, had come to New York not long ago.

Was it for Shazam?

He wasn't clear about the Ancient One actions, but as the guardian of the New York Sanctum, he was well aware of who had been in New York and who existed there.

Previously, various crises in New York hadn't disturbed him because, as a sorcerer, he was only responsible for dealing with invasions and attacks from other dimensions.

Unless Earth and humanity faced a crisis of annihilation, the magicians affiliated with Kamar-Taj wouldn't be alarmed.

Such a crisis would be comparable to Thanos cataclysmic acts.

Otherwise, wouldn't it be beneath their dignity if sorcerers had to come out to resolve every crisis?

Fortunately, the culture of superheroes had flourished in recent years.

Various superheroes had emerged, giving magicians who roamed the edges of the world a breath of relief.

With these individuals around, there was at least no need to worry about humanity daily life being devastated.

This way, they only needed to take care of their own patch of land.

However, what Daniel and others hadn't expected was that these superheroes were planning to extend their reach into the magical world.

And they were already making significant progress.

Constantine, Shazam, Wonder Woman—these were characters not even magicians could underestimate.

The Dark Justice League...

The formation of this force was actually somewhat secret, but to the higher-ups in Kamar-Taj, it was no secret.

Because the adversaries the Dark Justice League dealt with were supposed to be their targets.

Kamar-Taj and others had mixed feelings about this.

Especially Daniel.

But he wasn't unhappy having someone else complete the job was a good thing.

Daniel would prefer if the world were full of sorcerers, so he could be freed to focus solely on studying magic, but unfortunately, not everyone in the world had the talent to become a sorcerer.

Amidst these thoughts.

Inside the Mirror Space Daniel had created, terrifying energy fluctuations ravaged the area, grinding the demon against the ground.

Thunderbolts zipped back and forth, electrocuting the demon until it collapsed, emitting a burnt smell as its flesh seemed thoroughly cooked.

"Ah ah ah ah—"

The demon screamed in pain, its eyes filled with anger and terror, watching helplessly as Shazam slowly approached from mid-air, without any ability to resist.

He had been completely suppressed by Shazam, no longer possessing the strength to fight back.

"Goodbye."

Shazam spoke indifferently: "I hope your lord of demons finds a way to resurrect you, but unfortunately, he probably won't go out of his way to revive a worthless minion like you."

With that, another bolt of lightning struck from the void, piercing through the demon body.

Crash!

Subsequently, the demon body turned into specks of light and dissipated into the air.

His power returned to hell and was instantly assimilated.

As the battle concluded, Daniel was about to dispel the Mirror Space spell when he saw Shazam body flicker and be swallowed by a spatial portal, reappearing in front of him.

"You, this guy..."

Daniel was shocked.

Shazam suppression of the demon hadn't surprised him as much.

Because using the Mirror Space required the help of a Sling Ring, a special magical item that helps sorcerers open the gates of space.

If a sorcerer lost the Sling Ring inside the Mirror Space, they would be trapped forever, truly having no way to heaven and no door into the earth.

But Shazam was able to leave the Mirror Space without relying on a Sling Ring, indicating that Shazam possessed another power that allowed him to traverse spaces at will.

"No, that power is somewhat strange..."

Daniel Drumm pondered.

Seeing this, and guessing Daniel thoughts from his contemplative expression, Shazam had no intention of explaining.

His method of leaving the Mirror Space was simple.

A telepotation device.

As long as he had the coordinates, it worked like Doraemon "Anywhere Door," allowing him to traverse space at will.

"Al Simmons, now that we've dealt with the complex issue, next, I need to talk to you about your problems."

Shazam ignored Daniel and turned his attention to the catalyst of all this, the resurrected warrior, Al Simmons.

"It seems you've remembered quite a bit."

As he spoke, Shazam expression remained unchanged, but the pressure was immense.

The power he had just displayed lent his words a compelling force, and Al Simmons was very nervous.

"Yes, I've remembered everything."

Shazam was a superhero who appeared after Simmons death, and Simmons had little understanding of him, only knowing that he seemed to be from the Justice League.

As for the other person present, the magician Daniel Drumm, he knew even less about him.

"I know I'm a monster now, a monster created by a demon lord of hell..."

"My existence only brings disaster, just like today."

Simmons knelt on the ground, tears streaming down his face.

In his memories, he had never been so humbled.

"Just kill me."
